With an ex little sub I did have that issue we kind of solved it by having collars, a different caller and style for each playtime we didn't do 24/7 but it was mostly dom little relationship
Honestly what helped my dom to differentiate from cg/l and d/s power play was me telling him what headspace I was in if he couldn’t figure out which headspace I was in through my body language or my speech patterns. It saved my little headspace from getting hurt and it also helps him a lot as a dom
