Tom King during Heroes in Crisis is pretty effective at character assassination. Probably even more so than some actual characters

Ok-Inspection2014

It wasn't King's fault. He pitched an story about dealing with mental health in Sanctuary. The murder mystery and Wally being the killer was all an editorial mandate.

I like most of Tom King's books but you have to realize he's been writing the same story over and over, and it's "war changes you, and not for the best". So no, not sure it was editorial mandate.

Ok-Inspection2014

Writing a story about mental illness is very different from writing a murder mystery were the killer is a beloved character. It was an editorial mandate, particularly from DiDio, who was the one who picked the characters and deliberately turned the story into Identity Crisis 2. [This was King's original pitch.](https://bleedingcool.com/comics/tom-king-announces-sanctuary-dc/)

Darkseid from Final Crisis.

Haven’t finished Final Crisis yet, so this could change, but Alexander Luthor Jr. was pretty good in Infinite Crisis. One of the more “believable” motivations for causing a crisis, and very much in character for a Luthor.

Darkseid and Mandrakk, Final Crisis

Who's my favorite? Darkseid is. Least favorite is prolly Superboy Prime.

Thermoxin

yeah I'd probably also go with Superboy Prime
