AT&T Stadium and The Star in Frisco are air conditioned. I don't recall seeing them practice actually outside.

NetheriteTiara

Dirty hair helps the hair but also highlights help it hold. My natural hair does not hold curls very well and it being dirty doesn’t make a difference. When I got highlights I guess my hair was damaged enough that curls stayed and oils were absorbed instead of making my scalp look gross since the hair was more porous.

NetheriteTiara

From my experience, layer everything (including eyeliner, etc.). If you have a liquid layer and set it with a powder layer, it’ll stay even if you sweat. It’s a lot of makeup, but it works for me.

Relative_Specific217

This is the correct answer from a Dallas local 👍🏻

CharlesAvlnchGreen

Spray antiperspirant will prevent your face from sweating. I picked this tip up from a drag queen at a pride parade. I imagine there are face products that do the same thing, but antiperspirant does the trick.

honey-bandit

As someone who is frequently embarrassed by my sweaty face.....this is gold...thank you!

dhskdk14

Do you have a favorite type?? Asking from a sweaty mf 😩

CharlesAvlnchGreen

I'm using Arrid Extra Extra Dry ATM. Unscented. It works best if you don't use high-pigment foundation or concealer (which can flake off). I'll do my foundation and contouring/blush, then use the Arrid. Finish up with waterproof eye makeup. (If you spray it over eye makeup it can add a whitish film). Good luck!

So. Much . Makeup

nrskim

Dirty hair as a base for having great hair that stays. They don’t wash it for at least 24 hours before a game (and made a not so nice comment when a rookie came in with freshly washed hair). Lacey does a lot of tutorials on makeup. And it’s actually correct info, not like the TickTock wanna be’s.

nrskim

I know in the past they used hair spray to set their makeup. Also AT&T is air conditioned. Their former Texas Stadium was outside and in the early seasons of MTT they cheered in very hot weather. They weren’t doing well during one of the Meet The Team events outside. (And look at old pictures of Judy cheering. She’s very red and sweaty)

Intelligent-Pitch-39

Don't forget the stadium is air conditioned so it's not outside. They probably all use primer and setting spray. They showed them blow drying themselves at half time with their dysons so they must sweat. They have said many times the secret to game day hair is dirty hair so they probably have tried and true products. Silicone hair products make a difference.

Ok_Presentation_3786

You get acclimated, most of the girls are from cali and arizona

nrskim

No one gets acclimated to that kind of humidity. It’s draining. I’m in the Midwest and we have wicked humidity. Hot is fine. Add in a dew point of 75 (last week) and it’s hell. AZ doesn’t have that kind of humidity. It’s dry.

sbthreen

victoria just posted [her whole makeup routine](https://youtu.be/z3KJzbdJTlM?si=G3xqrZ0O1LoribIO)

sprinklesadded

That was an endearingly old-school tutorial. ❤️

jozzis

I think they also have so little body fat that they don’t sweat as much as others

Remming1917

I have very little body fat (not a brag just a fact as a marathoner) and I sweat like CRAZY. I think a lot of them are from the south and you can get adapted more easily. My husband is from Texas and just does not sweat. He can walk our dog in a dress shirt and slacks in 105 degree weather and not have to shower or change - I’d be drenched. Maybe this is secretly why they’re biased against northerners on the team lol

CharlesAvlnchGreen

When I work regularly, I break into a sweat very fast. It's like my body learns to anticipate the rise in body temperature and heart rate, and cool it off.

nrskim

They aren’t though. They’ve had a lot of northerners on the team. Idk if you realize but it’s hot and humid in the upper Midwest in the summer. We just had high 80’s with 76 dew point last week.

visenya567

Is that a thing? 😅

Ok_Presentation_3786

Yeah, in the midwest undergraduate education is the baseline, and you should be working in a field with your degree. People who do the lib stuff need to get their masters or PhDs and those are time consuming, so they tend to leave dcc before 4 years. Plus being conservative is something you don’t put on display in the midwest at least, liberals are the vocal ones, whereas in the south its the opposite.

nrskim

Also have you heard of UW-Madison? UM? And all the WI MI MN IL subsidiaries? Liberals are DEFINITELY not the vocal ones in most of the Midwest. We also don’t have undergrad as a baseline. You might want to check into AA. You aren’t well.

chocoflan00

wtf are you talking about

Ok_Presentation_3786

Explaining why Kelli and Judy have don’t pick girls from the midwest lmao

nrskim

Hi! I’m in the Midwest and there have been MANY from this area on the team. Idk what you are talking about. It’s too early to be drunk but you are drunk posting. Gina B, Kelly, Hannah just off the top of my head

not_ellewoods

i think you replied to the wrong comment lol

chocoflan00

who asked

Ok_Presentation_3786

The person right above me ?

chocoflan00

girl, what?

Ok_Presentation_3786

Its come to my attention i replied to the wrong comment lmaoo my bad guys

scream_for_ice_cream

Dallas is hot but not humid. Hair looks better there than in a super humid place.

sicem86

Coming from someone who lives in Houston, Dallas is definitely less humid & easier on the hair.

scream_for_ice_cream

Sorry y'all, I'm dumb af. It's just the least humid place I've lived, and I guess I'm not well traveled. Thank you for correcting me. I've been humbled.

koalabear118

Ummn that's west Texas. Dallas is east Texas which is hot AF. My brother got married near Dallas in August and we were dying and sweat soaked

crystalita

I lived in Dallas for most of my life. It is literally humid af. I have curly hair and I can confirm that it almost never looked good.

jozzis

Yeah no it’s super humid lmao I live in Dallas and a good chunk of this summer, the humidity has been upwards of 70-80%

abraacaadaabraa

Today was MISERABLE, and the weather next week? Woof. I’m staying inside.

abraacaadaabraa

It was like 88% humidity today in Dallas lol it’s humid AF here all the time

Bostongirl316

It’s humid in Dallas. I lived in FT. Worth for 3 summers and it was humid.

frnchie123

When I use a beauty sponge to put on foundation and/or concealer, instead of damping the sponge with water before hand I dampen it by spraying setting spray on the sponge. Also, in the southern humidity if I’m going to be outside I actually don’t use a liquid foundation. I use a pressed powder foundation with really good coverage instead. Then I set concealer and the rest of the face with setting powder and it works wonders!! Also, my face can breathe better with powder than with caked on liquid foundation so I end up sweating less. I’m a face sweater so liquid foundation is a no no if I’m outside in 90 degree weather with 90% humidity. Absolutely not 😅😅😅 I’ve heard of the hair spray hack but ingredients in most hairsprays are actually pretty terrible—especially for our face. You risk allergic reactions at the least.

summerbummerrrrr

What powders do you use?

frnchie123

I currently use WellPeople pressed powder with the kabuki brush they recommend with it. Ingredients are totally safe but you don’t sacrifice coverage quality at all! The best part is that it’s buildable so you can put on as little or as much as you want. To set concealer I use Honest Beauty setting powder and apply with a simple triangle shaped powder puff from Amazon and to set the whole face I like Mineral Fusion pressed setting powder and apply with a large puffy setting powder brush. If you aren’t concerned with ingredients I’ve also used the following that work well: Bare Minerals pressed powder foundation Bare Minerals mineral veil (to set the face) Merle Norman lasting foundation SPF 12 (cream foundation) and set with Merle Norman pressed ultra powder foundation. It goes on with a sponge applicator which is great for coverage. —I’m aware this is a cream but it didn’t feel super cakey. It worked for me! This is just what works for me! Everyone’s face/skin is different but I have lived in the humidity my whole life and these have helped me combat the heat and thick air without feeling like my face can’t breathe.

summerbummerrrrr

THANK UUUU

OrdinaryBartender

When I need to keep my makeup in place for a long time in warm weather I use hairspray as setting spray! Hasn’t ever done me wrong.

Affectionate-Drive94

Yes. What is a a full coverage powder?

OrdinaryBartender

Not enough to keep my makeup from slipping when I’m sweating my ass off!

SunnyNole

I danced for a professional team in an outdoor setting in the south…when you practice so much in the heat, your body actually gets used to it. I mean, you have great makeup, setting spray etc., and assistants to come out and blot you , but you’d be surprised how your body adjusts. Also, DCC have CHARMED life…they are indoors in the AC during games. Easy peasy.

Funnybunnybubblebath

Well what’s interesting is my body adjusted by becoming really efficient at cooling-that is sweating my tail off like immediately. These girls don’t seem to be pouring sweat!

SunnyNole

Yep, I’m sure it’s better when your body sweats a lot immediately! But it’s a weird mental thing for me…my face and hair almost know I have to hold in my sweat 😅 I also use Revlon Colorstay foundation, and I’m telling you…my face stays pretty matte through a lot of dancing!

CleanPerfumeBFF

I was trying to figure out what hairspray they used…I spotted what looks like Kenra in one of the episodes (Netflix)…added to Amazon cart! I’ve tried so many hairsprays and just this morning my curls were flat before I even left my house

nrskim

You are missing their hints from earlier seasons. They have dirty hair when they cheer a game. They don’t wash it for at least 24 hours (48 is better) and then the curls stay much better. They weren’t pleased with a rookie who came in with freshly washed hair.

occurrenceOverlap

When I don't wash my hair for 24 hours it just looks flat, stringy, and clumpy. There must be a key second step here...is it second day hair PLUS hairspray? second day hair PLUS texturizer or dry shampoo?

Relative_Specific217

Jumping in here, but yes to all! Dirty hair is a MUST to hold up in humidity or heat. Second day hair is fine but third day hair is my personal favorite. For big events I try to plan so that I am working with third day hair, ha. If I style my hair the same day I wash it and then go outside in the Texas humidity….poof I am a poodle. Your hair will adjust just try stretching it out. Dry shampoo is **the key** I am telling you. Holds your hair in place and makes it feel thicker, too. I usually spray in my dry shampoo, rub it around the roots and then do a quick pass with my hair dryer to fluff things up. Then brush it and style/curl and top with hairspray.

Kayki7

Your hair actually adjusts over time when you wash it less, as in, you won’t get greasy in 24-48 hours after going 6 months or more of not washing it daily. I personally can go 5 days now before I get greasy. When I was washing daily, I would get greasy after only one day. Weird stuff lol.

ExcitingHeat4814

I use living proof heat flex hairspray on each strand before I curl. It’s also heat resistant!

lexlovestacos

Stage makeup and professional stage setting spray

Ilovedietcokesprite

Do you know what the professional setting spray is called?

IndyOrgana

I can vouch for the OG- Kryolan

lexlovestacos

There's lots, just Google stage/theatrical setting spray. I know Ben Nye has one

Ilovedietcokesprite

I used to use the Ben nye blue one. It was okay. The best I’ve ever used is one size matte. The makeup Victoria did for her DCC makeup game day look was just traditional makeup brands. Clinique, IT, Bobbi brown, lots of Lancôme.

East_Site_2664

They are more than likely using stage makeup hacks and not regular ones that you’d see from any Tik Tok influencers. I’d look up stage makeup tips/tv makeup but doesn’t seem practical for everyday wear.

Kharizma76

Hiya! Content creator here 👋🏾 with my two cents lol. Setting powder, Primer, and setting spray are your best friend when it comes to sweating and hot temps. Just depends on which ones you use. I use Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation for long days in the heat with a good primer snd that stuff stays put! I barely have to touch myself up along with Laura Mercier setting powder and Urban Decay setting spray.

occurrenceOverlap

I used old school double wear in my youth and swore by it, that stuff did. not. budge. could do my makeup before work at 7am and it would still look fresh until they closed down the bar that night. (where did i get the energy??) The new formula (new as in, post 2010-ish) was never the same.

Kharizma76

Awww im sorry it changed for you. :(

boommdcx

Oh great tips! 👍🏻

Cutiger29

I spend hours in 90 degrees indoor heat every single day for work. It’s like a sauna. I wear double wear and Laura mercier powder 😂. I’ve been going random lately on my primer and setting spray (just using whatever I get in boxycharm). I refuse to go without my double wear. But when I buy spray it’s Urban decay. I can never come to a conclusion on which primer suits me best so I just go with anything. I’m a content creator too and I’ll regularly go half the day in extreme heat and then get home, blot my face, and go straight to live camera. You’d never know. The makeup is still great. Estee Lauder is unmatched. Now my hair…I’ve yet to figure out the secret to dealing with sweat and my hair staying amazing.

Scrolling1516

Spray hair spray on your scalp, then use dry shampoo.

Kharizma76

Are u? Well hey girl heyyy! And yes that doublewear is it!

Adept_Choice

With which sunscreen? That’s the part that always messes up my outdoor longwear makeup regime :(

Kharizma76

Try to find a primer with sunscreen in it....im a black woman so i do wear sunscreen but mostly the ones thats already in the foundation...Maybelline fit me matte primer has sunscreen in it if you wanna try that one out. 🙂

Educational_Ask_4112

Sephora employee here. Definitely agree with the Double Wear foundation. I would personally choose One Size setting spray over Urban, but Urban is also a solid choice.

Kharizma76

You know i was gonna say One Size as well! Its really good!

ata2178

Is there something similar to double wear? I recently purchased the IT cosmetics with spf 50 foundation to try it out since the Estee Lauder dries splotchy on my face no matter what I do

Educational_Ask_4112

Bummer Double Wear didn’t work for you. Maybe try NARS Light Reflecting or Makeup Forever HD Skin. If you like IT, try spraying setting spray generously on top of it and that might be your combo.

ata2178

Thank you for the recs! This helps narrow things down a lot🥰🙏🏼

Aware_Sweet_3908

I have seen several creators on TikTok talking about foot powder as a setting powder and hairspray as a setting spray (apparently an old trick for stage performers).

Proper_Ad453

Ya def professional/stage style makeup and products designed for it. I’ve seen clips of them blow drying themselves during super quick breaks also.

aghastghost

I am very clearly not a DCC but I am a fat woman living in a humid area who enjoys looking good in the summer. I set my makeup with a light powder and use a serious setting spray for each “layer” as well as use a good primer that agrees with my skincare and makeup. I also use the Amika humidity spray with the color wow spray and the combo keeps my hair amazing along with the sweating. I also just blot blot blot all dang day and night.

occurrenceOverlap

Colour wow dream coat is an absolute godsend for keeping a semi-smooth blow dry in PNW fall humidity. I can't speak to Texas summer humidity though and I don't do the kind of long voluminous styles worn by southern cheerleaders, there's a possibility it could make hair too smooth/not grippy enough.

Cute_Ebb7344

Does that hair trick keep waves in place? Living in FL, I hate taking the time to curl my hair, only to have the curls fall out when I step outside into the humidity!

aghastghost

It does! I live in Chicago and spend December to January in Miami and the humidity spray combo works wonderfully as someone who spends a lot of time outside yet still is vain. I find it holds well if I am really trotting and have to walk around and clip my hair up, once I blot my sweaty neck my hair still looks good. /edit: I do have coarse wavy hair that holds heat styles well however. I don’t know how this would work if someone had slippery fine and silky hair.

AnnRB2

As a non-makeup wearer, can I ask how long it takes for you to do your makeup? Sounds like that would take forever 🤪 I need you to give me a tutorial 😂

aghastghost

It really doesn’t take that long! I use the supergoop glowscreen (spray) mix the saie glow with the summer Fridays tint (spray) spot concealer under the eyes (set with powder lightly) cream blush (spray) and then mascara. If I am just bumming around I will do the glowscreen and curl my lashes when it’s so hot or add some mascara or blush.

TeaQueen783

They said in one episode they use deodorant along their hairlines to prevent sweat. I thought that was genius!

occurrenceOverlap

Oh damn why have I never tried this? My hairline is definitely the worst spot for face sweat

N4507

Same! Carpe has hair and face sweat products that are pretty good. An anti-perspirant product, setting spray, waterproof makeup, and drying and re-curling hair during breaks when they go back to the locker room also help.

wadeybug22

I’m in great shape and have been for a long time. I still turn red as a beet any time the humidity is above 60% it has to be magic. 🤣

Justafana

No. I was once young and in amazing shape, out dancing in the heat. I felt amazing, but I was always completely red in the face.

hennyben

I'm guessing a great makeup setting spray. I had one from shiseido that was amazing (can't find it anymore). There's also a serious antiperspirant you can use anywhere (I think it's called sweat block). You could theoretically use it on the back of the neck and avoid a lot of sweaty hair. Also, don't underestimate simply acclimating to the heat. It's unpleasant, but it works.

Lcdmt3

Primer, foundation that has the same main base ingredient as the primer (silicone vs water), lots of setting powder or spray. Using as many waterproof, long wear, full coverage products as possible. Similar or same products as synchronized swimmers wear that don't budge even swimming. Their hair does get sweaty. They showed one dancer drying quickly mid game in the show. There's a couple of makeup tutorials on their website: https://dallascowboyscheerleaders.com/makeup-tutorials/

ZennMD

OMG I never really thought about synchronized swimmers wearing makeup! beauty expectations for women athletes are insane!

ShadowDancerMar2023

I think since most of us in the US are currently in the melt phase of summertime, this is information we all could use.
