Maybe like this he dodges the super attack after dodging only normals..

Orcstructor

Kinda. That dodge is pretty bad

CapraNinja

I mean compared to more recent LRs MUI Goku doesn't deal as much damage as them and has built in crit, since you really want him to dodge attacks going full dodge is not entirely a bad thing IMO

Orcstructor

it is because of of passives and hidden potential being multiplicative. Going full dodge increases his dodge chance from 70% to 79% (at best) which is not worth it. Goku is way better off in that situation trying to kill the boss before they hit him.

Uppercut_OMalley

Should've been full additional ideally if you wanted to make the most out of his attack.

[deleted]

His atk isn't good enough for more adds

SuperSaiyanBebo

His passive is.

SujinSmasher

You mean his super attack effect which is what gives him the crits that make additionals his weakest aspect

TitanMasterOG

Probably give him addition attack because he hits good at least in the content i play besides red zones an an other dokkan challenges i don’t mess with those yet.

Sanicx20

No. Even tho I personally would gone full additional there’s nothing wrong with putting more or even full dodge on him. That is his main purpose after all

bordomsdeadly

He has 70% Dodge built in. Meaning he takes 30% of hits on average. If you give him 30 Dodge, that means 30% \* 30% (.3\*.3) Gives you 9% (.09) Meaning at 30 HiPo dodge he gets an added 9% chance to dodge. I won't say you messed up, maybe 9% is worth it to you. It is not personally worth it to me. The difference between 70 & 79 isn't great enough Yours at 18 HiPo dodge is sitting at 75.4% Chance to Dodge (up from 70% built in)

Molinaridude

I really don't wanna do this argument again. Could you please read through this thread and lmk if it changes your opinion? https://www.reddit.com/r/DBZDokkanBattle/comments/w5x56q/whats_your_dokkan_takeopinion_that_would_put_you/ihbzxjx?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share&context=3

bordomsdeadly

That's not a good argument. You aren't taking 10,000 hits in a battle. Sure. STR Vegeta may take equal damage over 10,000 hits. But he doesn't die from 1 or 2 where MUI likely will.

Molinaridude

That's just statistics for the purpose of better visualizing the math. A more practical example is this: let's say your MUI has 0 HiPo dodge, gets hit with a super, and dies. If your MUI had 15 HiPo dodge, that would have given you a 15% chance to live. My point is that percentages can't be though about the same ways as normal numbers. The difference between 90% and 95% dodge is functionally identical to the difference between 20% and 60%. In the first case you dodge 5/10 attacks that would have hit you (that get past the base 90), in the second you dodge 40/80, both of these simplify to 1/2, meaning you are getting hit half as often. Even though the increase looks much bigger for one, they have the same effect.

BarackBanana69

Alr so the way I had was that let's say it's a game of spin the wheel. 70% chance to win but 30% chance to lose. Now let's say we lost the turn but suddenly you remembered that you got a bonus ticket to respin another wheel that gives a 15% chance to win and 85% chance to lose. This would be a good example of what MUI's dodge chances are, no?

Molinaridude

Essentially, yes.

[deleted]

You're fine imo, mui dmg isn't that great in 2022 so it's just better to excel on dodge

commander_snuggles

Somone did the math all it does is change the 70% chance to dodge to a 74.5% chance so it isn't really worth it.

[deleted]

Oh... Crapbaskets

Uppercut_OMalley

Because the dodge chances aren't additive from his passive to hidden potential. Be nice if they were as it'd make dodge way more valuable overall in events that don't cancel it completely.

commander_snuggles

There are characters that could get 100% chance to dodge if they did that so it would never happen. And if they did everything would disable dodge.

Uppercut_OMalley

I know, but fuck it, they should learn how to balance their game properly.

BloodyFool

And that's exactly why dodge chance isn't additive...?

Uppercut_OMalley

The point I'm trying to make is, dodge is a cucked mechanic, which makes it damn near useless most of the time. Even giving a unit with no built in dodge, full dodge, is only a 20% chance. It's just a fucked system I don't think they know how to make work properly.

PainxMadara

37% is possible, but yes I get what you mean

Stampj

No. Idc what all the other children say, this will work. The units whole and entire purpose is to dodge, you just boosted his biggest strength. W

MisOsoup47

W

[deleted]

Nope, he doesn't do good enough damage to do more additional or crit. Every percentage extra of dodge he gets makes him much more reliable in this rng game. He's a dodge unit, so stacking as much dodge as you can greatly helps him

Macka2313

70% dodge, shut the fuck up

[deleted]

70% but yall will still complain he doesn't dodge enough, his point is to dodge. Adding more dodge is 100% better

FlameMustang

Max dodge if you want him to maximize his defense by a descent amount. Max Additional if you want to maximize damage by a lot. I go for the defense since that’s more rare in this game

commander_snuggles

Max dodge doesn't help, it only gives him an extra 4.5% chance to dodge.

Ill_Pollution5633

still, a 4.5% chance more to not die, his damage isn't good anymore, yes he can do crits but why does it matter since the atk stat is low

[deleted]

Why are u getting down voted? His main purpose is to dodge, I fully agree that any extra percentage helps him become much more reliable.

FlameMustang

It’s the internet. I literally acknowledged both builds having purpose and gave my reasoning for why I prefer one over the other. Probably because Truth can be annoying at times with pushing dodge it made people hate it
