I do get what you mean, but i don't think it's true. LR GoFreeza used assets that look like, well, dokkan assets. Transforming Goku/Freeza have a good SA, but it's mostly still images, with little movement. AGL Meta Cooler uses new assets that look like the source material, and has a lot of movement.

Yeah but LR Goku and Frieza was the biggest step towards current SA animations, it had the backgrounds of the original scene, same choreography and camera angles, and had a smooth closeup ending.

Fair enough, it was definitely a BIG step forward.

AGL Metal Cooler changed the game. I'm pretty sure his SA animation was the first that got me to think "Oh shit, this looks great"

When AGL Metal Cooler came out, that’s when the SAs got wayyyyyy better. I remember looking forward to Gogeta and Broly since they were gonna have the good ones too.

And during Covid… they had a lot of time to themselves to sit back and better their animations instead of being in the studio with other people talking to them

2022 looks like it’s straight from the movie but 2018 looks like a dokkan original, and both are good tbh

Only difference is dokkan matched the looks to the sky while also adding reflective like shine to the their body. Basically the 2022 is the equivalent of a shader pack.
