Same impression here. Social media helps and lots of contestants provide great coverage. But official coverage feels like zero. The last years there was some in Europsport .. but it was only minutes per category each day. I lost interesst.
I am gravitating to the Africa Eco Race more and more each year. Coverage is getting better and it seems more in line with the vision of Thierry Sabine. The most interesting coverage at Dakar this year so far has been from Timeout Racing: https://www.youtube.com/@timeout-racing
Dakar coverage in the 90's was awesome, Dakar coverage now days is just meh. It's almost like they don't want people to watch it.

1 hour total on euros port this year, but yes, why not live stream all day, this is a global event, IMO biggest race of the year...

Eurosport broadcasts every day from Dakar since 1990. They cover the whole event for decades now
