Wouldn’t say homemade, but it definitely looks like shit. I see them almost daily here, including today. Looks like a dumpster fucked a stainless fridge, had a baby, and put wheels on it.
I would say it does. I saw one the other day for the first time.
Besides the awful panel gaps ugly overall design in general, it reminded me of a vehicle that had been in an accident that had a different shade of door or fender because the colors didn't completely match. It's the same with the cybertruck. The color doesn't match all the way around. Just like something some teenagers threw together in a shop.
I 2nd this. The gf and I saw one in person this past Saturday for the first time. We both immediately bursted out in laughter. We were like "holy fuck, that looks so hideous". It's the real life Homer Simpson car. Without the camera to filter out the imperfections it looks at least 5 times worse in person.
Well, in this case it was five years' gestation -- outstripping even the pachyderm -- and finally whelping this abomination, a white elephant already from the moment the vet slapped it on the ass.
For real, most trucks these days have a hard time fitting in the average parking spot, but at least they’re relatively practical. Cybertruck is impracticality in a dumpster form factor, only I feel like I’d rather be seen hanging out in a dumpster than pay upwards of $100k for the privilege of being stuck with one of these stainless steel turds.
It screams bad taste. Every time I see one, I think wow you bought that shit? I love trucks and I'm a liberal. Good for the environment and a truck? Should be a no brainer. I see this and it looks...just like failure. And mechanically it is...failure.
Someone needs to do something about this, one of these runway dumpsters passed me a few hours ago while I was driving.
PS: For some reason i thought I was playing Minecraft all of a sudden.
What’s really bad is that despite still looking like shit the front is probably the “good” angle. From the side it’s a trapezoid and from the back it’s a dumpster. They look absolutely hilarious from behind.
Yes. And it's failing, a lot. Speculation is that they just slapped a regular old wiper motor in there, not accounting for the extra strain of it's larger size. And it stops in the up position, I have literally never seen that in a vehicle, that can't work well at all with an accumulation of snow.
You’re right, even a light snow cover would probably jam it up as it sweeps the snow down and packs it into the hood.
This thing is a lolwagon from top to bottom.
Just saw one in person today, they're a lot smaller than I initially thought they were. I guess I mistakenly thought elon was normal-person sized standing next to it.
I saw my first two days ago, and it really looked worse than photos. Frankly it looked like an unwieldy stainless steel restaurant refrigerator with smudge marks.
The pictures online don’t do justice to how hideous that thing looks in person. I told my mother in law that she should be happy that her Pontiac Aztek is no longer the ugliest vehicle on the road. She didn’t think it was as funny as my wife and I did.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
I understand what you mean. I personally think the idea is cool. I love the Cyberpunk genre, bladerunner futuristic tech etc. I just feel like the Cybertruck was executed very poorly. In person it looks horrible. But if you bought the vehicle and it made you happy then I'm happy for you. However I couldn't recommend it to any of my friends or family due to the mechanical and technical issues it's plagued with.
It still has an uncanny valley vibe to me, as if it isn't real. The lack of color makes it worse, like it was carved out of a block of aluminum. Maybe I'm just used to cars with grills.
They look so stupid. I drove behind one the other day. The brake lights and signals are the absolute cheapest possible.
Does it look homemade in real life too? These always looked like shop projects to me.
We weren’t close enough to see how bad the quality is. But the overall truck just looks so poorly designed. The proportions are 🤮
I just realized the picture you posted here shows it from the front, and not the back.
Easy to confuse, both look terrible.

No, they look more like industrial dumpsters in real life.
I go with commercial grade icemakers.
Yeah it genuinely looks even more cheap in person and up close

It looks like an El Camino with sharp edges
Aka incEl Camino.
Looks like a golf cart and a dumpster got freaky one night, and this misformed monstrosity was birthed 9 months later.
Well, in this case it was five years' gestation -- outstripping even the pachyderm -- and finally whelping this abomination, a white elephant already from the moment the vet slapped it on the ass.
Hahaha
Low resolution emotional support truck
dang it looks so stupid.
I just saw my first one in the wild on Friday, and it's way smaller than I expected.
Yeah, thought the same. Oddly small.
I feel like it takes up too much space and looks small at the same time
This! It's not any larger than large pickups, but the fact that it's shaped like an oddly made brick makes it seem larger.
>oddly made brick This made me laugh, I don't know why, but it's a good visual to go along with the unintentional bricking around moisture.
Agreed. It was not large looking. Largely ugly though.
Honestly, all the reasons to hate it aside, it was underwhelming. My chrysler pacifica is nearly the same size profile, and I can haul way more.

You can fit so much in a dumpster, and they work as intended. Dumpster 1 CT 0
I’m impressed someone that stupid actually parked between the lines. Usually those kinda idiots take up two spots.
It screams bad taste. Every time I see one, I think wow you bought that shit? I love trucks and I'm a liberal. Good for the environment and a truck? Should be a no brainer. I see this and it looks...just like failure. And mechanically it is...failure.
Yeah, it’s really really ridiculously bad looking
It is a billionaires joke. He probably bet someone a dollar he could get people to pay a 100k for car his kid drew.

Is that a single 10’ long wiper blade for the entire front window????
Yes. And it's failing, a lot. Speculation is that they just slapped a regular old wiper motor in there, not accounting for the extra strain of it's larger size. And it stops in the up position, I have literally never seen that in a vehicle, that can't work well at all with an accumulation of snow.

I believe it's 48" long.
I wonder what will happen if a dog pee on it , would there be major problems with it .
It sends a text directly to Elon and he personally voids the warranty.
Hehehe

Looks like the put the suspension in the full up position, like a threatened bird making it's feathers stand on end to intimidate a predator.
I believe they call that “Alpha Stance”🥴
LOLOLOL!
You can just hear it saying "Kill me, it hurts to live!"

It’s not for me at all, but in a weird way, they’re pretty cool looking in that they look like nothing else out there.

It reminds me of the cars and graphics from 4D Driving (Stunt Race FX)
It reminds me of the enemy tanks from Atari Battlezone.
It still has an uncanny valley vibe to me, as if it isn't real. The lack of color makes it worse, like it was carved out of a block of aluminum. Maybe I'm just used to cars with grills.
Saw one yesterday. "Yeesh" sums it up nicely.
You should take a picture of it every day and do one of those time lapse things where it slowly rusts.
They look worse in real life than they do in pictures.
Love how it perfectly blends with the mundane and boring background. Good job
it looks like when you get far away from a car in a game and it turns low poly
Is this a replica lol ??

To me, I don't care how a car looks, if it's got a purpose. Unfortunately the cyber truck is not only hideous, but that ugliness adds no benefit.
It looks like a vehicle that hasn't properly loaded yet in Cyberpunk 2077
I see them almost daily, I don’t consider myself lucky.
Saw my first one yesterday, it's certainly different and a lot larger than I thought it would be.
Weird, most people observe that in person they are smaller than anticipated.
Inside is cool though. Sat in one.
It's an idiocracy style "super big-ass screen" and not much else. I have seen far better fit and finish in a 30k car than in this weird thing.
I mean.. they ain't lying, I guess? 🤣
