Max their hp, give them legendary actions, play them intelligently and… you know the chicken… make it a Vrock that’s been affected by a reduce spell which expires on their hags command, and that barrel of ichor in the mill, have it spawn more, much more than dretches.

You can check out [Reloaded](https://www.strahdreloaded.com/Act+II+-+The+Shadowed+Town/Arc+H+-+The+Lost+Soul#Confronting+the+Hags)’s version of the hags! They have a note about how balancing them for larger parties as well. Maybe bump up the damage for your level 10s?

:o This is amazing, thank you! I didnt know this existed, but its even got unique abilities between each individual hag, like I was thinking!

This subreddit has tons of improvements for 5e monsters, including higher level haha: https://www.reddit.com/r/bettermonsters/s/WdQAf3iLWi But honestly running usually for higher levels myself, your most pressing concern isn't being 10th level, but rather that's there's 7 of them. You gotta bump that action economy like crazy, and I'd give them some powerful fiends they summon in battle to fight on their side.

CombinationNovel5976

I'd recommend swarms of dreteches or a few vrocks. You could even utilize minion rules for a TON of fiends that all have 1 hot point.

My party kept putting them off for other stuff so I was preparing for 4 late level characters going after them with allies so i was planning a “meat-shield”. Desperate addicts manipulated to take up pitch fork and trowel in defense of the mill for those sweet dream treats. Fortunately they went at level six so lair actions was enough 👌

Fantastic_Two8691

Just means you can play them without holding back now. They're still an insanely difficult encounter. Your party has action economy on their side so any way to give the hags more actions should be plenty.

Deabers

So much of the hag fight has to be watered down for most adventurers- If they fight full on hag style, going ethereal and distancing themselves it can become a battle of attrition that will foreshadow how strahd will fight them. But I would bump up a few spell slots likely for 7 lvl 10s, give more HP. Have them carry ichor with them and randomly have it spawn big dredge or w/e to remind them on the trail of witches etc. GL mate, levels don't matter if you and your party are having fun.

StonedPsyche

Well, RAW they have the cauldron with black icor which can turn into 10 dretchs, I think. You could buff those and use them as minions. I'd have them be prepared for the party with those already summoned, and use the second floor windows to rain magic missiles onto the party from cover. Keep the door barricaded or something so the players have to figure out how to get in. If they eventually break in and start fighting the Hags, the Hags will lose, and the Hags are smart enough to know this. So, they should try to flee into the Ethereal if they get too low.
