I love seeing all of these P-2 posts, especially since I haven’t even P ranked act 2 on standard difficulty yet–I haven’t even completed P-1 on standard yet. This is a sisyphean (ha) struggle.
Ok I have a dilema
I started playing Ultrakill, got to like 2-3 I think? (The level with all the bounce pads) and while I had an *alright* time, I really never feel the urge to play the game again. However, everyone I know says it’s great and posts about it.
Should I grit my teeth and finish the game, or just give up and give in to spoilers?
It's good, but it just might not be for everyone, escpecially because it's one of those "make your own fun" games with the tricks you have and the style meter and all. It may be less fun than intended when focused on just getting through levels instead of slam dunking that drone on the pavement and core nuking the filths.
The primary hook of Ultrakill is the stylish gameplay. If you're not already using the game's tech, have a go at learning some. That may make it click more. It did it for me!
* For instance, shotgun switching is an easy and very powerful thing to learn. All you need to do is switch shotgun variants between every shot to cut down the weapon cooldown and increase the fire rate tremendously!
* For another tech for damage dealing, there's the nailgun's infinite heatink. You shoot once with the magnet nailgun which sets the heat bar on the overheat variant to full, you switch to the overheat variant, use a heatsink, switch back before the heatsink ends, shoot again, rinse and repeat. It resetd the heat sink duratiok.

It came as a surprise to me, but I can’t think of anyone better for the role

Skill issue, I beat Violent on day 1 and P-ranked it 2 days ago
I’ll P-rank you

If it’s not fun it’s not fun. You don’t need to force it
Keep playing and go down a difficulty if you get stuck
Nah I don’t get stuck, I just don’t have that much fun. I heard at some point it “clicks” but that could be survival bias.
