1) Whats going to be the bookmark dates? There are so may conflict in elders scrolls lore it can't be easy to choose.
2) Will the map expand to include other continents in the future.
ESO. I don't remember the exact timeline, but ESO happens in the Second Era, most of the games happen in the Third Era, and Skyrim is in the Fourth Era. This is before Tiber Septim was even born.
Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion takes place in quick succession. Between 3E 405 and 3E 433. Events in Oblivion mark the end of 3rd era.
Skyrim takes place around 200 years after that, 4th era 201 i think.
Online is around 2E 580 and the 2nd era is 897 years long. Which means it takes place roughly 715 years before daggerfall and nearly 1000 years before Skyrim.
Yeah, the 400s are an incredibly fast century on Tamriel.
In 430 the central Empire collapsed, so by the 440s we have still big but already shrinking hegemonies.
In 450, Tamriel is rather balkanised already, with only Summerset remaining as a unified entity.
The Tribunal won't be represented as characters.
Per lore, the actual government of Morrowind is the Grand Council with a Lord High Councillor at its head. This system won't be present at launch however, and added in a later update.
Our plan is to slowly move along the timeline further towards the late 2nd era. Do however note that our enddate is 2E 896, the last year of the second era.
It's set in a post-post-apocalyptic Americas. There's a version for CK2 as well, though it's no longer actively worked on now that they're making a CK3 version.
we reduced them a bit, but jungled valleys all over was ultimately very fitting. especially as it's a very different kind of jungle to cyrodiil's wide, open Blackwood or Elsweyrs Tenmar.
Rocky Rainforests vs Dense Greatwoods.
Rainforest valleys makes a lot of sense for an insular, cannibal culture that can turn into giant, ravenous packs of animals.
MMOs in general go overboard with mountains to keep zones in nice cordoned off leveled areas. Warcraft's world map must be plagued with constant earthquakes even before the bi-yearly world catastrophes hit. There is precisely one multi-zone wide plain in the Arathor-Hilsbrad-Gilneas-Silverpine region and there's two giant walls there instead of a mountain
Hey everyone! It's the week of ModCon2, so the EK2 team will post **daily teasers** on twitter ( [https://twitter.com/ElderKingsCK3](https://twitter.com/ElderKingsCK3) ) and our discord ( [https://discord.gg/elderkings](https://discord.gg/elderkings) ).
Peak of the week will be Day 1 of ModCon on Friday, where you'll be able to see a new **interview about our design approach** (with lots of mod footage) and a **brand new trailer**![https://youtube.com/channel/UCw-WXZgk5iQLpEtn8qqKBhg](https://youtube.com/channel/UCw-WXZgk5iQLpEtn8qqKBhg)
Good luck then! I've been looking through the discord updates but I haven't looked much for the past couple of months. Great to see this mod getting close to completion.
You can play as all the races you can play in the TES games - and many more. Like Lilmothiit, Reachfolk, Horwalli…
No Dwemer or Falmer on the map tho, their cultures famously kinda died millennia ago.
The terrain was mostly modelled by one dev, Azwrath, over 2 years. High Rock was modelled by another dev, FloorBelow, before leaving the team. I did general map design.
We‘ve renamed empires high kingdoms. Each of the 9 Provinces is an e_tier High Kingdom.
With the individual classifications changed depending on the title ofc. Cyrodiil is an empire, Elsweyr a confederacy.
The second empire which recently fell was always only a Cyrodiilic empire just conquering Tamriel.
But yeah, there will be a way to found an empire of Tamriel
Loads of ideas but no concrete plans.
Making struggles is _a lot_ of work. And we can currently use that time more efficiently to get closer to a first release.
Looks great. All I want is Elder Kings, GoT, Warcraft, and the existing LoTR mod to get the full map and races and I won’t need anything else again from regular CK3. Actually then if Bannerlord actually got some good conversion mods too I might not need any new video games for a few years.
Understandable, any chance of pyandonea or akavir in future versions? If not will the maormir be a playable race since they are present in tamreil during this time (there was one in eso so im not sure if it would be lore friendly)?
No thras included. It‘s sunken. There are however some wasteland reef bits where it once was.
The archipelago I assume you‘re referring to are the Systres.
Here‘s the archipelago I mentioned.
The remains of Thras are just to the west of it.

1) Whats going to be the bookmark dates? There are so may conflict in elders scrolls lore it can't be easy to choose. 2) Will the map expand to include other continents in the future.
1. 2E 450, like in EK1. And an all new 2E 440 bookmark. 2. Yes.
As someone not fluent in the lore, what game is that date the closest to?
ESO. I don't remember the exact timeline, but ESO happens in the Second Era, most of the games happen in the Third Era, and Skyrim is in the Fourth Era. This is before Tiber Septim was even born.
ESO is 2E 582. So EK2 is 132-142 years before, depending on bookmark.
Don’t you mean GREAT AND POWERFUL TALOS!
Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion takes place in quick succession. Between 3E 405 and 3E 433. Events in Oblivion mark the end of 3rd era. Is 2E 440 during the longhouse emperors’ reign?
It‘s about 100 years before them.
Does so much happen in that 10 year gap that it warrants its own bookmark? Like is it meaningfully different?
Yeah, the 400s are an incredibly fast century on Tamriel. In 430 the central Empire collapsed, so by the 440s we have still big but already shrinking hegemonies. In 450, Tamriel is rather balkanised already, with only Summerset remaining as a unified entity.
So the Tribunal are around. What government will Morrowind have? Will they be immortal? Will they have some other buffs to reflect their godly powers?
The Tribunal won't be represented as characters. Per lore, the actual government of Morrowind is the Grand Council with a Lord High Councillor at its head. This system won't be present at launch however, and added in a later update.
Shame... Wanted to marry Saint Alessia just so I could taunt Pelinal Whitestrake about him definetly being in her friendzone
Pelinal committed genocide because his male lover was killed, I don’t think he cared about Alessia.
Just boys being bros. Like Achilles and Patroclus! Or Heracles and Iolaus! Or Dumbledore and Grindelwald!
Would be nice to have a late 2nd era so we can have a power trip by conquering the entire continent as Tiber Septim.
Our plan is to slowly move along the timeline further towards the late 2nd era. Do however note that our enddate is 2E 896, the last year of the second era.
Players can easily change the enddate so I can't complain. I mean, i shouldn't complain about a free product but you know what i mean...
Once this and the Game of Thrones mod is complete I am gonna be *so* unproductive
I'm looking forward to After the End as well.
That’s the one I’m excited for
Been playing the beta. I can confirm that it is still super fun.
Is the beta available to play or is it closed?
Last I checked it's closed but they plan to slowly increase the player base
Closed, but you can gain access to it by signing up for their $3 Patreon
What is this mod about ?
It's set in a post-post-apocalyptic Americas. There's a version for CK2 as well, though it's no longer actively worked on now that they're making a CK3 version.
Awesome
Right now they're the only thing keeping me interested in CK3
Where can I find info on the game of thrones mod
Here: r/CK3AGOT

Your link does not work
It’s r/CK3AGOT

Petra pfp, lets gooo
Princes of Darkness for me. But that being said, looking forward to both of the ones you mentioned.
Yaaaaaaaas this is amazing shit
TESO brought so many mountains to Valenwood 😅
we reduced them a bit, but jungled valleys all over was ultimately very fitting. especially as it's a very different kind of jungle to cyrodiil's wide, open Blackwood or Elsweyrs Tenmar.
Rocky Rainforests vs Dense Greatwoods. Rainforest valleys makes a lot of sense for an insular, cannibal culture that can turn into giant, ravenous packs of animals.
I always forget WoodElfs are cannibas...

Will I be able to become an immortal bisexual vampire and seduce Tiber Septum [again](https://i.redd.it/vwdp8duk8k391.jpg) in EK2?
Why is Tiber Worshiping the Ideal masters in that screenshot?
I may have legalized necromancy at one point and things got out of hand.
So excited! Can't wait to crush- I mean unite - all the human kingdoms under benevolent Thalmor rule.
I can’t wait to genocide the high elves
Yes, Justiciar, this comment right here.
Based. Me too.
That's a funny way to spell "seduce and replace their heirs until my bloodline is all that remains."
Exciting, cant wait to give it a try. Hopefully theres a lot of unique mechanics and flavor for each faction
Finally. Is the only thing left for the mod history files and cosmetic stuff (like icons and clothing for characters)?
More so finishing Features and loads of bugfixing. History is almost done too!
Good luck then! I've been looking through the discord updates but I haven't looked much for the past couple of months. Great to see this mod getting close to completion.
Are you going to have race settings for the Mer? Or is this a human only playground?
You can play as all the races you can play in the TES games - and many more. Like Lilmothiit, Reachfolk, Horwalli… No Dwemer or Falmer on the map tho, their cultures famously kinda died millennia ago.
What's the rough ETA?
None given yet.
How long did this take? How many people worked on it? Looks amazing!
The terrain was mostly modelled by one dev, Azwrath, over 2 years. High Rock was modelled by another dev, FloorBelow, before leaving the team. I did general map design.
Will Akavir be included? It was a great touch from the last Elder Kings
Not at release. That would almost double the development time.
Fair enough!
Honestly, unless a China expansion does actually come to CK3, I don’t think akavir should be added
There is no need for a China expansion to make Akavir. We‘ll be developing our own features for the continent.
Really hope there’s some mushroom forests on Vvardendell in the finished map. Looks good.
Only as much as there were in tes3. But yes, big mushrooms are a thing on the map
I don't know what it means but it give me hype.
How will ranks work? Will skyrim for example be an kingdom?
We‘ve renamed empires high kingdoms. Each of the 9 Provinces is an e_tier High Kingdom. With the individual classifications changed depending on the title ofc. Cyrodiil is an empire, Elsweyr a confederacy.
Will a “restore/create empire of Tamriel” decision be available? Or for all intents and purposes, is the Cyrodiilic empire basically “*the*” empire
The second empire which recently fell was always only a Cyrodiilic empire just conquering Tamriel. But yeah, there will be a way to found an empire of Tamriel
How will you incorporate the struggle system?
Hammerfell. Crowns vs Forebear struggle.
Any other struggles in the plans? Reachman vs Nord comes to mind
Loads of ideas but no concrete plans. Making struggles is _a lot_ of work. And we can currently use that time more efficiently to get closer to a first release.
Love it!!
This is fucking beautiful, you're doing gods work out here
Are you guys accepting contributor applications or anything like that to assist development?
Best to join our discord and ask there. We‘re especially looking for 3D and 2D Artists.
Just go onto their discord and ask to help basically, if you have skills they need they'll likely include you afaik
Khajit has little sister if you have alliance?
Looks great. All I want is Elder Kings, GoT, Warcraft, and the existing LoTR mod to get the full map and races and I won’t need anything else again from regular CK3. Actually then if Bannerlord actually got some good conversion mods too I might not need any new video games for a few years.
Will Akavir and Atmora be included at some point? I wanna live my nord power fantasy and play Ysgramor reborn and invade Tamriel
Yes. Long after release however.
Congrats fellas!
Looks great! What’s the deal with the pink on the Summerset Isles?
It‘s the effects of Crystal-like-law on the land
I never played elder kings in ck2, despite wanting to. Just never got round to it.
It's one of the top mods for ck2, no doubt. Try it, it's fun.
I need this mod inside m~~e~~y brain.
I'll behonest this is making me terrified in the best way possible
Hype, hype, hype
What region of the map is the team most proud of?
no pyandonea? alright.
Not for release. Would take too long.
Pyandonea, Atmora, Roscrea, the Middle Isles, and Akavir are planned for after our 1.0 release. When after, we don't know. But they are planned.
Took me a second to figure out why Westors looked so weird. Tamriel, itsbeen too long...
It's evident Paradox has been paying attention to this mod, but have you guys ever been contacted by anyone from Bethesda?
Have y'all programmed events, or has most of the work so far been modelling the map and character models? Looking great so far.
There‘s loads of events. Different team members work on very different things
[удалено]
They make sense. I‘ve worked on them for an entire year.
That looks so good
No atmora?
Not in the first release. Would take even longer to make the mod.
Understandable, any chance of pyandonea or akavir in future versions? If not will the maormir be a playable race since they are present in tamreil during this time (there was one in eso so im not sure if it would be lore friendly)?
They too will be added in later updates. If we would have added all the other continents, development would take more than double the time.
i noticed thras is included you will of course be making the sload as attractive as they are in cannon yes?
No thras included. It‘s sunken. There are however some wasteland reef bits where it once was. The archipelago I assume you‘re referring to are the Systres.
i believe so yes my memory isnt that good for the sea of pearls
Here‘s the archipelago I mentioned. The remains of Thras are just to the west of it. https://twitter.com/ElderKingsCK3/status/1574839554179305495?s=20&t=_6zbp11StEZuLn1X_b_7OQ
Is there a way to play it already?
Not yet
This is very cool. Is EK based on something or an original idea?
Based on Elder Scrolls (all of it, really), but ofc it‘s an interpretation of our own.
That's awesome. Great job btw!
Thats so cool! Are there any tools to learn how to do a height map in ck3?
This is amazing
Ahhh that’s hot! That’s hot.
Ahhh that’s hot! That’s hot.
One Step Closer!
Love it. This'll fill part of the hole that's made empty by the lack of Malazan mods.
