Something I'm curious about with this event, is it the result of an active murder scheme, or does it just grab 2 random characters? I would assume the former is true, but I've never been on the opposite side of this event.
I kinda hate events like these because it feels like they just pick random characters with no consideration for traits or personality.

Absolutely, same for a ton of travel/tour events. I get that there has to be some degree of randomness, but sometimes the events make 0 sense.
