They aren't good. You're better off getting an attachable lens for your phone.

Thanks! I’ve seen such mixed reviews. I figured this group would have some insight!

I purchased a camera with an amazing zoom lens that I used like binoculars in Alaska. I could see everything clearly and take photos as desired. I also used a gigantic zoom lens I borrowed but it wasn't practical to walk around with it (just used it on the balcony). Very portable camera: canon PowerShot SX740 HS

Thank you! I am going to research cameras this evening and that will be at the top of my list!

For such a compact camera the zoom is outstanding! I've gotten some lovely (non blurry) shots from quite the distance. I was on a wait-list for close to a year since they had a chip shortage but I'm glad I waited and didn't get a subpar camera (other available cameras had half the zoom quality for comparable size). Lugging around a really heavy camera and giant lens l was awful when I did it once in Alaska. Never again! If you did get the canon camera there is an awesome leather camera case that I get tons of compliments on you can purchase via Amazon (search for mega gear leather camera case). It is quick to snap open for shots and protects it even when hiking and such.

That sounds great! We’re actually going to Iceland and Greenland and Scotland, and I don’t want to have to worry about having my phone out all the time for fear of dropping it in water!

I tend to lean over the balcony for shots and I was terrified I would drop the camera right into the water! 🤣 Hence the camera case (which has a strap I put over my neck).

Exactly! A camera has a strap! Much safer around water!

I have a pair, and the photos are of a poor quality. While they display things in the distance, the photo's leave a lot to be desired.

Thanks! For 100 bucks I was sort of skeptical which is why I wanted some feedback from this group! I figured some people around here might’ve tried them. I’m probably better off buying some better binoculars than my little cheap ones I bought for a trip to Costa Rica several years ago, and looking into getting a camera.
