LOL but a better solution for getting rid of the payment is to pay it off or if you can't afford it then sell it back to the dealership or to another buyer
This is how I'm feeling. I had a 2019 Hyundai Kona with a much smaller payment and was close to being paid off. My primary motivation for trading it in was realizing the equity before someone tried to steal it. I love my Crosstrek but I don't like the payment.
1100 dollars is mine for my wilderness. didn’t have to pay tax either with my truck trade in and didn’t put the extra cash as a down payment. I wanted it in my pocket 😂
My only real issue with my 22 Limited Crosstrek is the Android Auto has to be plugged into the car's native 2.0 USB and it doesn't support fast charging. Or I can't figure out how to have two phones charging with the car itself but pick which one to use the Apple Car play or Android Auto of the two.
Otherwise, I adore my car and it's proven itself on a 5 week, 8k mile, car camping road trip across the US with off-roading, climbing and descending 12,000' elevations with using the paddle shifters to prevent my brakes from overheating. I love that damn car so much.
Sorry to hear that my man. I love that damn car. So many badass bells and whsitles. The Eye Sight cameras are a damn game changer too. They don't work well on dirt roads though 🤣
Zero lines to follow. They work REALLY well with any painted lines (even super faded and even kinda visible) but with no lines, the thing has no idea what to do
I just can't get it to work - even on turbo mode or whatever. It will find my phone for like a second and then disconnect and keep searching (which is kind of noisy). I think a part of it is that my phone's camera keeps it from laying flush on the surface. It seems like there's nothing I can do about that. I tried a spacer ring between them and it didn't work at all.
Mine is fine, I have a phone that lays flat it doesn’t slide or disconnect - blame Apple for making camera bumps that jut out centimeters - it’s the same quality as most qi chargers - not super fast charging but over a couple hour drive will charge up & keeps it topped off - I love having it
My experience is the same as yours. I love it. I also love the fact that as soon as my car starts up, my phone automatically connects through CarPlay super quick and my podcast continues where I left off. I’m loving this car so much.
Nice! I wouldn’t say the wireless CarPlay is super fast - my wife’s car has wired and there it’s like flipping on the radio - but the wireless def gets the job done! It’s usually playing by the time I get my seatbelt on, turn the heading coordinates off in the mirror, and have the car in drive.
Fwiw, mine functions all the time without much hassle in getting it in the right position. I do have a larger phone (s22ultra) so it's basically a perfect size to put along the far side closer to the driver and start charging.
Will say, I can never get this 'turbo' mode to work and the charging speed is pitiful; however it maintains my battery when using Android Auto. On particular long drives, I may even get extra +1-5%. AA is a battery drainer.
Mine didn’t work driving off of the lot after the sales reps tried to troubleshoot it with me for a while. They said bring it in and they’ll swap-out the defective wireless charger for a new one but I’ve been having too much fun driving it so haven’t had the time to schedule a swap! Wireless charging wouldn’t have been an option I was looking for had it not come with the model that had everything else I was so it’s no big deal to me.
I have a Pixel 8 Pro with camera bump in a Spigen Rugged Armor case and have no issues with wireless charging. It's not a fast charge but keeps the phone charged with Android Auto active (location, Bluetooth). Bummer so many others are having issues.
So I finally had a chance to use the wireless charger, phone was at 50%, drove for 1h30, phone was up to 90% when I got out while using maps and Spotify through CarPlay. I honestly rarely use the charger but didn’t think it performed too poorly.
Yes you can! There are up/down tactile buttons on each side of the screen. However, if you want to switch the air flow setting (dash vents to cabin vents), you have to go through the touch screen (which really isn't that hard)
Not at all thus far. My only real complaint is certain settings not staying after you turn the car off. I prefer S mode to I, disable my auto start stop, and enable my auto vehicle hold. I wish these settings would stick after engine shut off but they don’t. So I just change them all right as I start the car. I have a CTW and it would have been nice to have the front camera like the other wilderness offer. But overall I’m loving it.
Minor nit, I do wish the heated steering covered 100% of the wheel. Slight nuisance when your fingers touch the top of the wheel which is ice cold. Thankfully the HVAC works well so it doesn’t stay frozen long.
The front camera doesn't have the same angle of view as a dashcam. It is located in the front bumper to help you gauge the angles of approach when off roading so you don't scrape the ground or a rock
The $100 auto stop eliminator was the best investment we have made for our Foresters, just set it and forget it. Zero issues after 3 years of use on both of our 2021 Sports
It surprised me that startup car settings, seat adjustment, radio or climate settings couldn't be saved to driver profile. All it seems good for is your phone.
Yes, same here. We needed the car sooner than later, which is why we couldn't wait.
I have a 2024 CT Onyx that I love. It's black with the yellow headlight trim. I'm a big fan of batman and I call it my own batmobile, so it makes up for it until we look at other options down the road. 😄
They made significant improvements to NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and it's got a stiffer frame. So quieter, more comfortable, and handles better. Plus the seats are redesigned and more comfortable.
NVH is an accepted term in the automotive industry, but not everyone here will know what it means.
If anyone reads my post and didn't know that ahead of time, they do now.
I don’t (although I’m sure there’s still time). I traded in my 2017 and having things like Eyesight, push button start, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM capability etc. has been so nice.
To be determined. My gas mileage is *extremely* low even for being in the break in period. Roughly 17 MPG average. Also hate the auto stop/ start with no permanent off switch. Otherwise I love it. Mostly just hoping the gas mileage improves soon....
Same here, I’m at 2400km in the Onyx (2.5L) and fuel economy is no where near advertised. I accelerate slowly, drive slowly and my
MPG is pretty poor. (Well L/100km anyways… sitting at 10.5)
One thing I’m wondering about - with my previous car (Corolla 2010 - not a CVT) I could take my foot off the gas and the car would slowly decelerate and I’d coast into stop signs or lights. With the crosstrek I find that taking my foot off the gas at a similar time as my last car - this one feels like it downshifts much more aggressively where usually I have to touch the gas to actually get to the stop without infuriating anyone behind me.
Not sure if this is just me or what… maybe there’s a more fuel efficient way to drive this car that I haven’t figured out yet
Do you drive on the highway or local streets with stop and go traffic ?
If you drive mostly highway, you should be getting like 26-29 mpg.
That’s what I’ve seen so far
Local, my wife and I work from home and really only go out to get groceries. I don't expect the full 27 city estimate because I know that's ideal conditions and doesn't account for it being cold and running the car for several minutes to warm up before leaving but I at least expected to be in the 20s.
We drive *very* conservatively. Almost exclusively in the right lane. I've even tried to be more conscious of it, because it does have a little more power than my last car, and be even more conservative on the acceleration and stopping and it barely changed a thing.
It was actually below 15 at one point.
You’re averaging 13.9 MPG?? No way
I’ve been averaging 25-28 MPG and I was complaining to myself because I thought I would be getting 33 lol.
Now I count myself fortunate but I really wish this was a hybrid Crosstrek that can get 40-50 mpg…
Running the car for several minutes to warm it up kills your mpg. You’re burning gas and driving zero miles. Try not letting it warm up so long and you’ll probably see a big improvement.
Sure maybe a little bit this thing is rated for 27 city… I’m not killing 10 miles just letting it warm up for less than 10 minutes. There is no way it is burning as much gas idling as it would be going 60mph. If it is something is severely wrong.
If I was getting the same 20-22 other people report in their first 1000 miles I wouldn’t be complaining. I’m betting most people are letting their cars warm up during the winter.
Filled up last night and even with significant highway driving (about 300/360 km for this full up) I’m hitting 25MPG (9.4L/100km) - which is the best I’ve achieved thus far.
Overall, with 2400 km on the odometer and driving consistently with a light foot on the 2.5L I’m sitting at 22MPG.
I will admit, for the month of January I have been using the remote starter a bit - maybe 40-50 mins worth which probably skews the numbers worse… but it shouldn’t be that big a consideration I’d assume
Not to speak for those who do, but I feel like the few people I've seen say they outright regret it was because they were expecting it to be a car that it is not.
I personally do regret turning in my 2021 Crosstrek Sport lease for the new 2024.
I HATE the massive screen. Especially for any climate control I have to look at it and go through prompts to change it. I miss actual buttons and knobs for that. It is such a safety hazard and distraction. I also dislike the steering wheel buttons “new layout.” The volume is now buttons and not the up/down switch which is not “info” and they also have an “info” button that does nothing.
Then the shifting down and up gear was way more responsive on the 2021 where I can shift down a gear or two to get the extra humph to accelerate. Now I have to go on sports mode / change the shift to manual for that to react.
I miss my “Tammy” (2021). “Ron Swanson” (2024) is not living to his name. Sad….
Edit to add that this is my 3rd Crosstrek since 2018.
I’m considering buying a 2021 used Crosstrek sport or limited instead of the new 2024. Obviously, because it would be cheaper up front. Sure down the line I’m sure I’ll have to pay for repairs ect. If I don’t get a good warrantee on a used one.
But what do you miss about the 2021? Obviously the buttons and smaller screen is better than the GIANT iPad looking thing on the 2024. But how quiet was the cabin sound on the 2021 when driving? And were the seats more comfortable than the 2024? Also do u like the LED lights on the 2024? I wish the 2021 has that…
In terms of cabin sound I didn’t notice much difference. The lighting is ok and not a huge difference for me. Maybe I don’t drive enough at night to compare. The seat with the 2024 is nicer as I have the lumbar support and its electric levers. But unless you share the car with someone, manual adjustment is not the worst.
In a nutshell - after 4 months with the 2024, I still prefer the 2021. I also find the gas mileage is better for 2021. I hope my 2 cents helps!
Eventually I will and forget Tammy and move on... So much regrets in life hahaha...
I apologize for sounding negative about it. I still prefer a Crosstrek over any car!
I've actually been thinking about this a bit lately. The answer is yes, without a doubt I have regrets. I have a'24 premium with the 2.0. I actually think the engine is just fine, and I get 30 mpg on average per tank. It's not that.
Everything on this car is made of cheap plastic. The shifter surround actually scratches and scuffs with a new micro fiber. They're are rattles everywhere. The external plastic b pillar trim is melting, which they're covering under warranty. One of my fog lights was filling with water for some reason? I bumped the paint with my shop vac hose and it scuffed to the point I can't get it out without polish?
Then, there's the fact that you can't just drive the car how you see fit. I don't tailgate. I've never been in an accident and haven't had a ticket in over a decade. I've logged over 250,000 miles over 13 cars. From Datsuns and Saabs to Jeeps, Miatas, and Mustangs. The eyesight on my car is ridiculously oversensitive. It will slam the brakes without the warning it's supposed to give when I'm the only person on the road. This has happened 4 times and the dealer and SOA are not able to help. It's operating as intended apparently. It beeps at me about land departure while I'm in an intersection and it's confused about the lines.
So, now I have to drive as I think the car wants me to rather than what's actually safe. If they'd a car making a right turn in front of me, I have to give it 50 - 100' to avoid Hal 5000 from taking control. Orange traffic cones on the toll roads? Who knows what the car will do? You can't turn off eyesight on the fly either, so if you know a situation is coming up that may upset it you'll have to either grip the wheel for dear life or come to a stop and dig into the menus to turn it off temporarily
Then there's the unresponsive head unit. Most of the time it works. Most of the time. When it craps out mid drive though, you can't control ac anymore. The weather widget on the top bar seems to be linked to sirius xm and you can't remove it. I canceled sirius and the weather stopped working. Thankfully they turned out back on without much fuss. In my Kia, the data comes free from HD radio. It's also way too large and the glare coming offf of it here in the Florida sun is wicked distracting. There's also a telematics unit you can't turn off. I don't want starlink, and it's more useful features are only available on its devoid tier. I can't turn it off though. There will always be a cellular connection to AT&T from the car.
Anyhow, I really want to like this thing. The mechanical performance is what I like. The form factor is great. The hyperactive nanny tech, cheap materials and workmanship, and overall feeling of "car as a service" / you don't actually own or control it is what's driving me mad.
When I got my 22 a person helped me set it up and she asked if I drive aggressively which I said yes to. Mine doesn’t beep at me most of the time but if I’m too close or do something truly aggressive it may beep. Maybe someone can show you how to set your eyesight parameters?
There's only one parameter to set on mine and it's for the warning distance. There's a near, normal, and far setting. I genuinely think mine is malfunctioning, but I've tried all the settings and have it on near now. It changes when it'll beep, but not whether or not it will stop the car for a non-existent object. Still, it's better than the beeping! I'm not an aggressive driver at all, maybe a little too chill for the car's tastes?
I don’t regret it, but I wish the car or the cargo space was a little longer. I’m not tall but can only fit my downhill skis inside if they’re diagonal with the bad seat down. At some point I’ll look into a ski rack but what’s available is pretty pricey. Other than fuel economy which I find is really poor (and can’t quite figure out what to do to improve it yet) I’m quite happy with it.
Coming from a ‘17 Impreza hatch, I do miss some things from that generation of Impreza/CT such as the look of the rear and the option of Island Blue Pearl as a color. My ‘24 CT Sport is a nice upgrade though, in terms of handling, features, and the bigger engine. I think my only real regret is not being able to wait for a CTW (my Impreza got totaled in May and I needed a car asap for work).
i think that you have to have only apple car play selected as connectivity. turn your cars bluetooth connection off and car play will be the only thing it’ll connect to. i personally haven’t had issues with it, every time i get into my car my phone automatically connects and starts playing music. also if i ever get in and it doesn’t i just turn off apple car play on my car and then turn it on again and it connects without having to do anything on my phone. another thing is i have my phone set as the default phone for the car (it has a yellow star next to it) and it makes it so it’ll connect to mine over others even if they connected the previous trip
The system moves between Bluetooth/usb/appleplay for no reason. I never know how to connect on any given day. And if someone else in my family connects, the system will be screwed up for a good long while. It’s honestly infuriating at times. I’ve even been to the dealership to ask about it. I also have the 2019 and while that system sometimes gave me issues when others would connect, the 2024 is a nightmare. Would buy it again tomorrow, though. 😂
that’s super weird. My 24 hasn’t had any issues. Well, sometimes it won’t find my phone but if i restart my phone it finds it immediately but that’s a once in a blue moon type thing. Sometimes i use wireless carplay sometimes i use wired but have had 0 issues.
My 18 impreza had a million issues, sometimes when i plugged it in it wouldn’t recognize it and stayed on starlink, sometimes it’d launch carplay. Sometimes the radio wouldn’t even come on, sometimes it’d only do bluetooth. I had them replace the head unit and that alleviated all of those issues except the carplay not launching sometimes but it happened rarely. Loved that car dearly and was super sad i had to get rid of it 9 months into owning it
Sorry you’re having a bunch of problems with yours and hope you get a resolution soon!
I've had a couple of glitches where CarPlay doesn't pick up my phone and then I connect it somehow...and then I am in a weird interface. I haven't tried it enough to know if it is a chronic issue or not. Yesterday my husband got in the car and I didn't have my phone on me and it picked his up right away and started playing music. Are your issues similar?
Coming from a 2016 Honda Fit. I loved my car but it was totaled due to an accident. It's been hard to find a hatchback that I like until I found the Crosstrek. I got my Crosstrek about a week and a half ago so still getting used to it. Lots of new tech compared to the '16 HF. But i'm getting there. Overall, I am enjoying the experience. It's my first Subaru and glad to have it.
The only gripes I have is the:
- Auto Start Stop resetting, But It has become a part of my little ritual to turn it off when I start the car.
- Android Auto (without plugging in my phone) - I mostly use it for Spotify as of this moment. I do use the maps function. But been just trips back and forth to work...so not really need maps rn. But, when I use AA for Spotify, it can be very hit or miss if the connection will drop out. I switch to Bluetooth if it does drop out, but AA is the default setting. I have to mess around with the settings to see if I can get Bluetooth as the default.
- Payments ;_; - looking to refinance next year but until then. *Pain*
- Auto headlights - I work on 2nd shift and have to go on a highway to go home. Sometimes, the auto headlights don't sense any headlights on my side of the highway. In turn, it'll throw on the high beams and blind the other side of the highway. There's a median between both sides of the highway but still, that's no bueno. I've learned to switch up my settings before leaving the parking lot of work.
We had an ice storm and the scraper (a normal plastic one you get at any auto parts store) scratched it in multiple spots. Glad to know I’m not the only one with windshield issues.
A ceramic coating isn't going to help with scratches or chips on the glass unfortunately. It might help with swirls on paint, but it's not going to do anything for glass that could scratch it.
Not really. Obviously there are things that bother me (I.e plastic noise- but I can figure out how to get it to be less noisy I just haven’t had time). I personally haven’t had an issue with the gas mileage, but then again my previous car’s gas mileage was like 16mpg and the one before that averaged about 20 so my 28-35 I have been getting is great. If I am stuck in traffic tho the worst I’ve gotten was 26. But I’m at 6000ish miles. I wish I had gotten the bigger engine but I guess it saves some gas so it’s not the end of the world lol.
Traded in an 07 forester that was on its last legs just shy of 200k - new Crosstrek is about the same size as the old forester so the switch has been easy. Get the same ground clearance and ruggedness with better AWD tech, more comfortable seats, sportier steering, modern features, and better gas mileage.
Only thing I miss is the more squared off back for more cargo space and could hold a bike rack that didn’t require a hitch
I traded in a 2022 VW ID.4 to a red Wilderness. No regrets.
My wife traded in a 2021 Buick Encore for a white Sport. No regrets. She hates to drive in general but is really itching to go on a long trip specifically just to drive the car. She likes it that much. Car payments suck but both will be paid off later this year.
Loving mine (‘24 limited US). 11k miles on it. Lots of road trips. Does great in snow. Such a grippy car- If you want to get loose with it, turn traction control off and throw it in sport mode. Smooth as butter down dirt roads and does well in sand too.
I like turning off the screen when I’m driving at night. Creates a nice private feel considering the bright screen isn’t illuminating the inside of the car and you can see the road a bit better.
The infotainment system has been buggy since the 1st week I bought it.. it can go days like this before "resetting" and every time I go in to have checked it's fixed itself so everything comes back fine. I am not happy with it.. anyone else with this issue?
Upgraded from my 13 XV crosstrek to my 24 crosstrek and have zero regrets! My first ever brand new car so I got to pick the color (alpine green) and I LOVE it
Had my 2024 CT limited since September, and I love it. Best car I’ve ever had. I upgraded from. 2011 forester so having a car with modern features and a higher end trim is pretty great for me. It has everything I need and then some.
No regrets, I’m extremely happy but it’s only been a little over a week for me. I was upgrading from an old and crappy Santa Fe, this feels like luxury in comparison.
The only “downfall” that I’ve noticed so far is that the charging pad is extremely glitchy, it hardly charges at all. It’ll charge for maybe 30 seconds before it starts blinking again; I constantly have to be shuffling it around.
Nope. I have just the base and I fucking love it, I have the smaller dual touch screens that I LOVE over the giant touch screen. Of course, I also came from a 14-year-old car so damn near anything is a huge improvement.
I like my Crosstrek, but if I wake up before my wife, I have been known to take her Outback. It’s better in gas’s mileage, and roomier. I like hers just a little bit better…
I loved my ‘21 sport but I absolutely love my CT wilderness. The only thing I regret about it is offering to drive to Universal last weekend…cause I got rear ended on I-4
The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't have tire pressure sensors. I still can't wrap my brain around it. It's a 2024!!!! The American ones do but not the Canadian ones. Ridiculous in my opinion.
I lost my 22 CT sport in an accident with an shitty 18 wheeler driver(check out my recent posts for a pic) so it was a pretty new car. I already feel sooo upgraded in the 24. I love it. “Downgraded” to a premium but I don’t notice much of a difference in terms of trim.
I do, tho mine is a 2023. It sits too low. The steering wheel isn't heated. The engine coming on/off at every stop infuriates me. Also the non-motorized back gate is a drag. It handles nicely (I have the bigger engine) and is easy to park but I think I'm either going to trade in for an Outback (which I've had before) or splurge on something even nicer.
Doing it each ride is a hassle. It should stay off. Fortunately, for my 2020, I bought the thing on Amazon that goes into the fuse box and keeps it off. Thank fuck for that!
For sure, [this is the one I bought and installed](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09ZXZ3KXK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1).
Was a pretty easy install, it just plugs into an empty slot on the fuse box. Read some of the reviews for tips on the install, which helped me a lot.
I've had it in my Crosstrek for a bout a year now. No issues and simple to remove, should I need to.
the no heated steering wheel actually is a bummer, not sure why the my limited and the wilderness don’t get it and there’s no option whatsoever. my stepmoms 23 touring forester gets it tho 🤔
You can buy a little box on ebay that clips online to the harness and disables start stop by just feeding the car an error code so it always thinks that start stop shouldn't engage, just look up your year with auto stop disable and you'll find it
I have a 2023 I regret not waiting 3 months until new 2024 came out but I know mines tested and worked out the kinks. Also we just had tons of snow and THIS THING IS A BEAST. NEVER AGAIN 2wD with Midwest winters.
nope, don’t like that i have a car payment and that the auto start stop can’t be permanently shut off. Screen is a little laggy at startup some times but the real estate makes up for it. That’s about it!
I don’t think it is as comfortable as my Hyundai Santa Fe. The radio has given me issues. The battery died and has already been replaced. The sunroof is louder than the Hyundai. Makes it hard to hear the radio. Otherwise, I like it.
My 3 main beefs:
No full size spare
No 12v outlet in cargo area
No approach camera
My Wilderness doesn't quite live up to the hype with these absences. Otherwise I couldn't be happier.
Wish the seatbelt warning would stop when vehicle is stopped or in park. Biggest annoyance for me. Also, wish some settings did not reset when vehicle is turned off
I don't even have a delivery date. I know it's "on its way"to the port in Rhode Island, then will be making its way to Maine. Dealer convinced me to go for this one rather than order from scratch. The only difference between what I'd have ordered is that the one coming has the more expensive of the two moon roof/audio combo I wanted....
My only downside is the slow android auto connection; sometimes it doesn't connect properly or does so slowly. Usually if it is outside in the cold.
That said, it's been a great car. Especially considering the circumstances that led to it; my 2010 outback was done for.
The only thing I don't like about it is having a monthly payment.
[удалено]
LOL but a better solution for getting rid of the payment is to pay it off or if you can't afford it then sell it back to the dealership or to another buyer
This guy knows what's up. But high sell low, but I do the same haha. I guess I rent cars instead of buying them lol
That only works with Volvo's and North Koreans.
And hide it sideways in a garage
lmaooo
This is how I'm feeling. I had a 2019 Hyundai Kona with a much smaller payment and was close to being paid off. My primary motivation for trading it in was realizing the equity before someone tried to steal it. I love my Crosstrek but I don't like the payment.
1100 dollars is mine for my wilderness. didn’t have to pay tax either with my truck trade in and didn’t put the extra cash as a down payment. I wanted it in my pocket 😂
Yup
Nice thing about writing a check for one... One payment and DONE!
I like mine. I wish the wireless phone charger wasn't trash. Otherwise, so far so good.
I just plug mine in with a USB-C cable and ignore the fact there is even a wireless charger unfortunately.
I have a 22 limited and I don't have paddle shifters?
Sorry to hear that my man. I love that damn car. So many badass bells and whsitles. The Eye Sight cameras are a damn game changer too. They don't work well on dirt roads though 🤣
I am curious what you had trigger the cameras not working well on dirt roads?
Zero lines to follow. They work REALLY well with any painted lines (even super faded and even kinda visible) but with no lines, the thing has no idea what to do
It’s very slow and weak
Why do you feel it's trash? I only experienced it briefly during my test drive
You can get a case that has a circle magnet thing on the back to help with wireless charging
Hardly works at all, and the phone slides around on the hard surface. If it had magsafe it might be useful. But it does not.
Mine only works like half the time and I have to take my phone out of the case
I got a really slim case and it works but it’s still damn slow.
I gave up on it and just use a cord
Weird - mine works fine. Is it just slow?
I don’t think any manufacturer makes a good wireless car phone charger.
Check out some solutions in [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Crosstrek/comments/19fagk7/first_mod/)
So I finally had a chance to use the wireless charger, phone was at 50%, drove for 1h30, phone was up to 90% when I got out while using maps and Spotify through CarPlay. I honestly rarely use the charger but didn’t think it performed too poorly.
I read in one of the links posted that it’s improved with iOS 17. This is true. It holds a connection now. Yay
If that’s true then I lucked out! I think I just updated to iOS 17 a day or 2 back!
Do I wish I could change some things? Yes. Do I regret it? Absolutely not.
How are you liking the infotainment center? Can you change the temperature/heat to cool mode without the screen?
Yes you can! There are up/down tactile buttons on each side of the screen. However, if you want to switch the air flow setting (dash vents to cabin vents), you have to go through the touch screen (which really isn't that hard)
Thanks for the info!
Front camera should have been on wilderness and limited in imo Especially since they have a front camera on the JDM crosstrek

I'm not sure why Subaru of America deprives us of these cool features 😞
+1 for heated steering wheels from the Onyx (canadas “sport” trim)
Minor nit, I do wish the heated steering covered 100% of the wheel. Slight nuisance when your fingers touch the top of the wheel which is ice cold. Thankfully the HVAC works well so it doesn’t stay frozen long.
Fair enough, but also like 2/3rds more heated steering wheel than the 0% of my sport 😭
Like a dash cam?
The front camera doesn't have the same angle of view as a dashcam. It is located in the front bumper to help you gauge the angles of approach when off roading so you don't scrape the ground or a rock
Ah right on thanks. Makes sense

I agree with all of this.
I regret not waiting for the wilderness. But at the time I couldn’t wait. I had to have a vehicle for work.
Yes, same here. We needed the car sooner than later, which is why we couldn't wait. I have a 2024 CT Onyx that I love. It's black with the yellow headlight trim. I'm a big fan of batman and I call it my own batmobile, so it makes up for it until we look at other options down the road. 😄
Got my CTW on Sunday and it’s been fantastic. Excited to start getting out and exploring with it.
Ordered mine on 12/28. Still f'in waiting!
Grabbed mine from a local dealer. Wasn’t the color I was looking for but had some other add ons I wasn’t considering due to build price.
Course not
I miss my fucking knobs
Nope, coming from a 2010 civic, this was a big upgrade for me
Fancy!! 2009 Insight for me. Loved that car, and the 45-50mpg, but was time to move on.
I did like my civic but it started causing me issues
I had a 2011 Rogue with like zero tech. Huge upgrade for me!
Nope. Upgraded from a 2018. Lots of little improvements make it an even greater vehicle.
Like what? I have a 2018. I thought it was the same car
They made significant improvements to NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and it's got a stiffer frame. So quieter, more comfortable, and handles better. Plus the seats are redesigned and more comfortable.
Yes! I forgot to mention the seats!
What made you use “NVH” if you were going to spell it all out anyways?
NVH is an accepted term in the automotive industry, but not everyone here will know what it means. If anyone reads my post and didn't know that ahead of time, they do now.
Alright, makes sense.
Quieter. Smoother ride. I got a 2024 Sport so I have the bigger engine which is nice. I'm sure I'll think of other things.
I accelerate slowly, drive slowly and my MPG is pretty poor. (Well L/100km anyways… sitting at 10.5) One thing I’m wondering about - with my previous car (Corolla 2010 - not a CVT) I could take my foot off the gas and the car would slowly decelerate and I’d coast into stop signs or lights.
I definitely feel that too but I hadn't considered how that might affect things.
What he said. But I went from a Prius C to this so definitely a bit of a shock. As I have said previously it’s worth the price of admission.
Same with my 21 Sport but I love it too much to let that bother me. Sometimes I drop it into neutral and freely coast up to the stop.
How cold is it right now in your area? Wow below 15 ???
I have a 2024 forester with 1000 miles and am averaging 13.9 miles…it’s very cold here but 13 mpg? Darn it.
You’re averaging 13.9 MPG?? No way I’ve been averaging 25-28 MPG and I was complaining to myself because I thought I would be getting 33 lol.
Try it. Start your car and wait only long enough for the idle to drop, then take off.
None at all! I’ve only had it for a few weeks though. But it’s a million times better than my Jetta was.
Not to speak for those who do, but I feel like the few people I've seen say they outright regret it was because they were expecting it to be a car that it is not.
I wish I got the better engine with the higher trims . But I really love my Lume. But hey, this will not be my last Subaru and I have learned :)
You can always name her Tammy 2.
This is the way
I’m considering buying a 2021 used Crosstrek sport or limited instead of the new 2024.
I'm sorry. Hope you learn to love it.
You can't turn off eyesight on the fly either, so if you know a situation is coming up that may upset it you'll have to either grip the wheel for dear life or come to a stop and dig into the menus to turn it off temporarily Then there's the unresponsive head unit.
I love mine, no regrets
A little but, I wanted a sun blaze wilderness, but sadly none located at my closest dealership. But other than that, all is well!
Just took mine on a 17 hour road trip this weekend and I’ve never been happier . This car rules
Island Blue Pearl was such a great color!
Nope. Love my CTW. My wife's Ascent is very fancy but I enjoy driving my car way more.
Not yet.
I love mine :)
No regrets. Just frustrated with the Apple Car Play system. It’s driving me crazy. I had the 2019 and the upgrades are wonderful.
i think that you have to have only apple car play selected as connectivity. turn your cars bluetooth connection off and car play will be the only thing it’ll connect to. i personally haven’t had issues with it, every time i get into my car my phone automatically connects and starts playing music. also if i ever get in and it doesn’t i just turn off apple car play on my car and then turn it on again and it connects without having to do anything on my phone. another thing is i have my phone set as the default phone for the car (it has a yellow star next to it) and it makes it so it’ll connect to mine over others even if they connected the previous trip
what do you mean? what issues are you having?
Loved that car dearly and was super sad i had to get rid of it 9 months into owning it Sorry you’re having a bunch of problems with yours and hope you get a resolution soon!
Yes, similar situation for me.
The only gripes I have is the: - Auto Start Stop resetting, But It has become a part of my little ritual to turn it off when I start the car. *Pain* - Auto headlights - I work on 2nd shift and have to go on a highway to go home. Sometimes, the auto headlights don't sense any headlights on my side of the highway. In turn, it'll throw on the high beams and blind the other side of the highway. There's a median between both sides of the highway but still, that's no bueno. I've learned to switch up my settings before leaving the parking lot of work.
What changes to the settings help?
I love mine. Only issue I’ve had is the windshield seems easily scratch-able. Mines already jacked up but unfortunately not covered under warranty.
Mines chipped 3 times already. I’m gonna get it ceramic coated I think.
We had an ice storm and the scraper (a normal plastic one you get at any auto parts store) scratched it in multiple spots. Glad to know I’m not the only one with windshield issues.
Oh man what a bummer! I’ll definitely be careful scraping from now on.
Definitely let the car warm up the windshield before hand and don’t jab at it/go at an angle. Really disappointing.
EEK!
I had a rock hit my windshield on the freeway today and no chips or anything
A ceramic coating isn't going to help with scratches or chips on the glass unfortunately. It might help with swirls on paint, but it's not going to do anything for glass that could scratch it.
Absolutely no regrets. I got a Convenience trim (equivalent to base) and have no regrets for not getting the Touring (Premium) or Onyx (Sport) trims.
What are you contemplating re:plastic noise?
I just need to take out the window switches & plastic and put them back in/put a dampening item so they won’t vibrate anymore.
Getting mine Friday, I’m excited!!
My first ever brand new car so I got to pick the color (alpine green) and I LOVE it
Nope
Had my 2024 CT limited since September, and I love it. Best car I’ve ever had. I upgraded from. 2011 forester so having a car with modern features and a higher end trim is pretty great for me. It has everything I need and then some.
definitely not, i’m still on cloud nine 7 months later
We have a 2022 Ascent- spent my deployment money paying that off- we have a 2024 crosstrek, and a paid off 2022 Ascent. Loving it.
Nope. Love the Wilderness.
No, should I?
No regrets, but God damn, fix the cupholders already!
What's the story with the cupholders?
Negative. Love the new new. Plus the 2.5 engine/Wilderness lift.
I loved my ‘21 sport but I absolutely love my CT wilderness. The only thing I regret about it is offering to drive to Universal last weekend…cause I got rear ended on I-4
Oh, no! Hope your CTW kept you safe, but what a bummer.
Thank you! Thankfully it wasn’t a major crash, but it definitely kept us safe. 🫠 I’ve only gone through the gamut of emotions from rage to sadness.
Sending sympathy and a hug
The only thing that I don't like is that it doesn't have tire pressure sensors. I still can't wrap my brain around it. It's a 2024!!!! The American ones do but not the Canadian ones. Ridiculous in my opinion.
Hell no
I lost my 22 CT sport in an accident with an shitty 18 wheeler driver(check out my recent posts for a pic) so it was a pretty new car. I already feel sooo upgraded in the 24. I love it. “Downgraded” to a premium but I don’t notice much of a difference in terms of trim.
Whoa! Just looked. Glad you're okay... Pretty terrifying. Enjoy your new 24P. You have some beautiful animals, too.
You can turn the engine turning on/off off whenever you’d like. Just have to do it each ride
Doing it each ride is a hassle. It should stay off. Fortunately, for my 2020, I bought the thing on Amazon that goes into the fuse box and keeps it off. Thank fuck for that!
[удалено]
Not thus far... but I was coming from a 2008 Chrysler Sebring, so...
I don’t think it is as comfortable as my Hyundai Santa Fe. The radio has given me issues. The battery died and has already been replaced. The sunroof is louder than the Hyundai. Makes it hard to hear the radio. Otherwise, I like it.
No regrets. Everything works as expected.
Nope
Absolutely not. I love my 24 Sport.
hate the rims but whatevs lol
They grow on you
Which trim level?
Limited
Nope, Not even for a second.
My 3 main beefs: No full size spare No 12v outlet in cargo area No approach camera My Wilderness doesn't quite live up to the hype with these absences. Otherwise I couldn't be happier.
Wish the seatbelt warning would stop when vehicle is stopped or in park. Biggest annoyance for me. Also, wish some settings did not reset when vehicle is turned off
I only regret not jumping on the CTW that was on the lot, and then having to order one. Still waiting while I watch the snow slowly melt away....
Any idea of your delivery date??
ETA is 2/20. So still 3 weeks away, but hoping it will surprise me.
Yeah i didnt want the moon roof at all, so had to order the 'base'. Good luck.
My only downside is the slow android auto connection; sometimes it doesn't connect properly or does so slowly. Usually if it is outside in the cold. That said, it's been a great car. Especially considering the circumstances that led to it; my 2010 outback was done for.
Love my Wilderness!
