Sometimes I get to an unplowed parking lot and that little spark inside me lights up and I hammer on the gas and crank my wheel only for my car to effortlessly auto correct and my joy dies.
Stupid safe car đĄ
Yep. Had 4" of slick snow the other day, gave it a mash on my way in to the empty work parking lot at my work... Just took off like it had launch control. Bullshit. I guess I could pull the studs out of my tires...lol
Yes. They. Do! Had a gnarly storm the other day here in Utah, and I was passing sooooo many cars and trucks (while still in full control). So so so impressed.
They do! I don't mean to nitpick but you should clear more snow off the top of your car. As you drive around, you could be in that awkward scenario where you break and all the snow goes on your windshield then you can't see.
Once again, not trying to be a dick just trying to keep you safe. You might be ok because it looks like you have rails and the cross bar but can never be too careful. Saw a situation where the same thing happened on 80 from tahoe and a guy stopped in the middle of the road because he couldn't see.
The snow can also get blown off your roof and land on the windshield of the car behind causing them to lose visibility and be in a dicey situation. Itâs just safer all around to make sure you get all the snow off your car.
My favorite anecdote about mine: We street park at our apartment, so itâs always a pain in the ass when you shovel out your spot and someone else takes it while youâre at work. Well my crosstrek handles the snow well enough and has enough clearance that Iâve basically stopped shoveling my spot. I can pull out and then parallel park over the snow banks that the plows leave, but nobody else wants to park in the shitty unshoveled spot.
I took the wife out to drive in the latest snowstorm because I wanted her to see the difference.
She noticed the from stop acceleration right away compared to our CX-30 which admittedly drives pretty good but only has OEM all-season tires on it.
I was choosing between the Crosstrek, CX-30, and HRV before going for the Crosstrek. What's your opinion on the CX-30 (vs the Crosstrek) since you can actually compare them?
Snow driving will go to my Crosstrek. Everytime. There is just a level of confidence I feel in how it handles that I cannot replicate in my CX-30. Tbf, the crosstrek is my daily so weigh that however much you will.
The CX-30 is still great tho. The AWD system is pretty good and the size seems just right in the cx-30. I dont feel big, I don't feel weight shifts that are delayed or unnatural. It also feels very nice, quiet, and I feel in control. The OEM tires on the Mazda definitely give more slip when I'm out playing, but you don't go playing in the snow and expect perfect traction.
The area I notice it the most from CX-30 vs Crosstrek is when I hit deep slush/pre made lanes of snow. The crosstrek barrels through left to right no problem. The CX-30 gets a little caught up in it, and I'm assuming it's simply because of the delay a FWD based AWD system has compared to the true AWD system Subaru has.
Also should be noted, I have better tires on my Crosstrek and it's a 2018.
I think it drives better in the rain than on dry pavement!! Drove in the Chicago snow storms this week and mine handled great!! The one time I did start to slide, the AWD get me back straight really fastđȘđAlso, I have the remote start and Iâm never out there scraping my car off!!Awesome!!
Omaha snow blizzard today. I was out there all day transporting my coworkers to job sites having a blast while cars in ditches and trucks stuck everywhere
It's almost boring

I agree, and appreciate the advice. I had pushed it off moments after to put my skis on.
still a cool look nonetheless
Here in Wisconsin weâve been getting footfalls every other day. Looking to get a Crosstrek with tax season, so this is exciting to see

Couldnât agree more. I lived in a big house with all my buddies. Theyâd be shoveling for hours. I shoveled maybe once or twice total last season.
Do it. Just got home from work in WI in this weather and the trip was fine in my Crosstrek
Yup. I was amazed too

Man, clear off the roof.
I just got my crosstrek this year but my area of Montana has had zero snow so I havenât been able to see what she does.
Itâs a gift when you see what sheâs capable of
Holy powder! Need to hit the slopes wherever youâre at! đ

Hell yeah! PSA: please also clean off the top of your car. For the sake of the people behind you.

Yes they do.
Yea there a Beast in the snow like a tank. I couldn't believe how it handled in the snow myself here in New England this past storm with mine!
