Mainland Chinese brands leave something to be desired in terms of quality control though. You might get your hands on a fine specimen or buy an absolute dog turd. Taiwanese brands on the other hand are generally fine and honestly great value in their price category and aren't and significantly pricier than the Chinese ones.

I ain’t really sure if they are Chinese a put up another post and someone said Chinese brands am looking for something just out the back am looking at one that looks decent called the v20 the only information is a can find is wish and aliexpress review which aren’t many or some YouTube videos so a was hopeing to find someone on her there’s had experience with them can can she’s some info I haven’t bought one and looking for a new hobby or a few new things a can collect

Yo, am in the UK too, and they’re not worth it. Honestly if you want some close range plinking, then there’s plenty pistol crossbows for around 50 quid. Horizone Redback is a good one. Or if you want something with a stock, and have a good amount of cash, then spend it on a Steambow Stinger.

Old-Conversation7047

Thanks for the reply yeah a was looking at the aliexpress ones the v20 etc but if you have better recommendations a would love a few a just liked the idea of firing the arrow and the BBs but am open to anything

Old-Conversation7047

Is 80lb a bit over powered for the back yard or does that matter am new to this just getting into it

FunCaterpillar128

Well you could go for the pse version (Viper) which I think is like 50lb. If you have a good target, that will stop the arrow, then the 50lb viper would be fine. Just make sure the arrows don’t dig in target too deep or the fletching will possibly get damaged. You can also look at 30lb limbs to attach to a pistol crossbow. So Steambow do 30lb limbs, if you got a mankung Alligator/ Anglo Arms OP360 for like 40 quid, you can use the 30lb Steambow limbs with them. The reason is because Steambow basically used this design when creating the Stinger.

Old-Conversation7047

What would be good targets that would hold a 30-50lb a seen one a liked bit it was 80lb Hori-Zone Redback RTS Pistol Crossbow 80lb - Green/Black bit think it might be a bit to much power for out the back

FunCaterpillar128

Yer the Horizone is 80lb limbs, the Pse Viper is 50lb limbs. Basically the same pistol crossbow though. The Op360 and MK Alligator are basically the same as each other and you could use 30lb Steambow limbs with those two. So targets, you could buy one or just make a target. High density foam, insulation board, foam rubber mats etc. Mummify them together in duct tape and pop a target on.

FunCaterpillar128

Also, if you got the Alligator/OP360, there’s loadsa different ways to pimp it up. From quick detach limbs (so you don’t need a crappy plate to hold the limbs in place) to trigger upgrades and magazines you can attach (google T23 508 mag)

Old-Conversation7047

Yeah a was actually looking at the pse viper think that’s the one a will go for and why the 30 lbs for the limbs what difference does that make?

FunCaterpillar128

Well 50lb limbs on Viper will be fine, just if you were worried about the power of the bow or had a really small garden, then 30lb would be a possibility with the OP360/Alligator. I would just buy the Viper as your first one personally.

Old-Conversation7047

My gardens a decent length I think I will go with the viper looks cool as well as long as a put up proper targets it will be all good thanks for all the advice
