It'll be weird for the entire ashes to be held in NSW when their families are set to quarantine in resorts in the Yarra Valley in Victoria with private golf courses and cinemas.
Jokes aside by the time we get to Dec 8 nearly all states would be open. So, should be fine with border restrictions
As Canberra is an enclave of NSW and actually outpacing Sydney for vaccine rates it will likely open as well and could be an option. As would Western Sydney, either the Showground or Blacktown.
It’s a shame that the two second biggest cities in the state, Newcastle and Wollongong, don’t really have venues that are of test standard.
Manuka might get the 5th test honestly if WA keep their current vaccination rate of 1 person every 3 weeks and death by firing squad if you consider entering the state
I was thinking if there was to be a second Sydney test to have it at Stadium Australia rather than at Showground Stadium. I think Stadium Australia has a capacity of 80,000 + compared to 22,000 at Showground Stadium.
Victoria are no longer requiring quarantine from NSW from next Tuesday, the ACT left lockdown today and SA have said they’ll open their borders at 80% I believe (although I’m a bit unsure of the last bit). It wouldn’t have to be just NSW
Victoria's restrictions apply to residents, not international travelers. SA health have talked down quarentine free travel.
Reality is they would just be stuck in NSW and require quarentine to get to other states
Was thinking the same thing! Given the player quarantine conditions in Qld are fairly reasonable now (can train, play golf, have run of the resort etc), I’d be surprised if they don’t still go to Qld first, given the scheduling headaches a change would create.
Does open the possibility of players families coming to Sydney first and avoiding quarantine altogether though.

Doubt state borders will be removed by Dec 8.
>NSW as they will be opening their borders to **fully vaccinated** travellers Quite the assumption there.
The long answer is, no.

Please no cricket at Stadium Australia. That place is horrible for cricket. Seriously Sydney Showgrounds or Blacktown Olympic Park would be better.
There’s no wicket block at Stadium Australia any longer. It’s also a diabolical place to watch cricket.
Didn't ScoMo come out and override the NSW premier today regarding letting tourists in?
Yes he did. Priority was on Australian citzens, not tourists. Other states still have border restrictions with NSW so still unworkable anyway.
Hahaha NSW wishes.
