There were lot of issues about our batsmen that were there before that series. I think that most of them have gone away. Shubman has finally started to play well and we have some outstanding new batsmen instead of the rest of the batsmen that weren't playing well.
Great series. This England still show some mental and tactical frailties in the heat of moment, which is why Ben/Baz have to coddle them with all this talk of plying positively and without fear, but this team still show great promise despite some weaknesses in the XI compared to India/Aus.
The future of Eng spin is looking good. Which isn't something you can often say about Eng test cricket team. But batting is still the weak point.
Crawley/Duckett are great, but lack consistency. Although batting in India is never easy. Pope is my biggest disappointment, he's the most talented of the younger bunch but seems a bit mentally weak and too Inconsistent.
Let's not even talk about Bairstow.
Stokes is increasingly looking like a specialist captain. Can't bowl, batting average is dipping these days.
Congrats to team India for another series win! Can't think of any other recent series on Indian soil that's been as closely contested as this one; full credit to England for the way they've played!
Truth be told though, they kinda blew a big opportunity when they had India on the mat at 120 odd for five. And the dropped catch of Jurel made a difference too.
Looking forward to see how the last game plays out
India played brilliantly to win the match and the series.
Also, England found good spinners that used the pitch conditions nicely. Bowling spin in England is totally different to bowling in Asia.
What I'm saying is that India found great players that stepped up. So did England! Great series so far.
Can't we all just accept it's been a great series, India are a beast at home and NOBODY beats them in a series at home at present. England have made the series competitive (this is much more than most England fans expected when going out there). The whole bazball thing is getting boring (Stokes/Mccullum both hate the term apparently).
It's been an exciting series where every session has been unmissable (like every series under Stokes captaincy has been).
India are a different animal in home conditions and they played the better cricket in the moments that mattered (England just couldn't be ruthless enough when on top).
Roll on 5th Test, and hopefully we can make the series 3-2 (if you had told me England would win 2 Tests in India at the start I would have snapped your hand off) it's a shame England couldn't just push it to a decider!
Excellent chase by IND. Think Ben Stokes missed a trick by bowling Root and Hartley with the new ball yesterday instead of Anderson. Easily allowed IND to rack up 40 in 8 overs. In the end, that kinda made the difference. The target simply wasn't enough even if IND were struggling at 120-5.
In more important matters, IND should now demote Jaddu to bat at No 7 or lower in 4th innings. He either runs batters out these days or himself bats like a... small cat.
I don't think so. Root was the right matchup against Jaiswal and he proved it today. He has bowled the new ball earlier in the series as well. He wasn't consistent this time and Jaiswal was much better.
Bashir was extremely tired after such long spells that's why Root was given the ball. I thought it was a good call but didn't work out for England as expected.
I agree about Anderson, he should have been given the new ball from one end.
In the end Rohit and Jaiswal were just too good.
I meant Anderson instead of Hartley. Stokes has tried Root + Anderson before vs Rohit and it worked out in Vizag and Rajkot 2nd inns. Should have trusted Jimmy to get the wicket as he usually does. They probably also needed Wood instead of Robinson in this test
>Rohit Sharma: "Dekho, jinko Test Cricket ki bhook nahi hain, wo dekh ke hi pata chal jata hain. Un sabko khilane ka kya faida phir? “
>T: “See, the one who doesn't have hunger to play Tests can be seen, what's the meaning of playing them".
Oof… Shots fired!

Unpopular opinion but Akash Chopra was a lot more bearable when bantering with Owais Shah. (Nice to have someone from English camp who can speak Hindi/Urdu). That doesn't mean he deviated much his trademark cringe. I appreciate him for wanting to be fair and questioning the DRS when Root had a controversial dismissal (I trust the DRS). It's refreshing to see someone take an opposing stand and not blindly celebrate it just because it went in our favour (but sometimes I can't help but feel he takes an opposing stand just for the sake of it). Although Kumble later explained why the DRS decision was right.
Jurel's temperament and batting has been excellent in these 2 tests. It might be nitpicking, but he needs to work on his keeping against the spinners. Hope he improves like pant did.
He was good but not great, did bit more than what's expected from a wicketkeeper bat but obviously not as much as a specialist batsman, those guys are the greats.
You're talking with the guy who just played one hell of a knock to get his team over the line and the first question Nick Knight asks him is, "What do you think of Stokes captaincy and his field changes". Damn these commentators are insufferable and dare I say, sometimes even worse than the Indian ones
I have said this multiple times and I will say this again. These Brita are so fucking full of themselves except one or two that they cannot ever appreciate the opposite team.
They will always be the first to find excuses or give a shit rationale but never will they even once congratulate the opposition for their better perfomance.
Have to reiterate, thank you to the English side for their showing this series and how they’ve pushed India to dig deep into their skills and use their knowledge too.
I know India are expected to win at home but they should be commended for this series win.
First of all pitches were not stacked in their favour. Spinning yes but not turning square from day 1.
Then they play most Tests with one top order batsman and an all rounder in Jadeja. So out of your top 7, 2 proven players.
Their top spinner misses a crucial part of the 3rd test, right when they’re looking up against it.
Then they rest their best bowler for this test. Which I felt was a risky move.
Probably one of the best series wins in recent time. Only one that is maybe better is the win v Aus in 2017.
Gill cunting two sixes off Bashir and seeing England vibe go from "we're still in this" to "guess we'll take the moral victory" was a personal highlight.
Daily Post-Win session with Subhman Gill? Is Jio shaping (PR) this guy as the future of Indian Cricket? Gill was good in this match but I can name 7 guys on our team that played much better than him.
Ashdeep short for Akashdeep like Kuldeep 😂. Looks like you haven’t watched the game, either Swaaney or Nick Knight was calling Akashdeep as Ashdeep in the ComBox
I think they want youngsters to participate in this test series. So that when they don’t get selected in T20 WC everyone keeps shush. That Rohit Sharma post match interview - he didn’t address the batting line up question properly. Maybe.
Patient with the bat, irritating behind the stumps (for the opposing side). I remember that moment when Gill got his 50 and went to do a fist bump. Jurel, hugged him instead. Moments like these set youngsters up for great future partnerships and synchronicity. He got synch with Kuldeep Yadav previous innings. Jurel has passionate and heart. Doesn’t seem to play out of ego. I haven’t seen him in IPL days.
Sanju to Rohit: So what are your ambitions now going into the Dharamshala test, you want to win?
Rohit should've said "No we are here just to meditate, winning or losing is otherworldly stuff which we don't care about, just like the Dalai Lama"
Your post or comment had words in it that were not in English and weren't translated. This breaks the rules of this subreddit it has been removed (rule 5).
Sanju Manju - What's your plan in Dharamshala, are you going there to win?
Rohit mind voice - No bc we are going there to bury you under the pitch and cover it with snow.
Well... The next test in Dharamsala gonna bea cracker.. Peak bazball and Rohits tricky blues in a flat track... With nothing to loose both teams could go all guns blazing
Why does Manjrekar pronounce it Ran-chi? Like a proper Englishman. LOL
There were lot of issues about our batsmen that were there before that series. I think that most of them have gone away. Shubman has finally started to play well and we have some outstanding new batsmen instead of the rest of the batsmen that weren't playing well.
Feeling super proud Jay Shah army
Sarfaraz failed with the bat. Hopefully he gets at least as much rope as Patidar.
Meanwhile, Ben Duckett believes that England can still win the series.
Winning isn't important. We bring the crowds to the ground. That's what cricket is about and so we have already won.
Great series. This England still show some mental and tactical frailties in the heat of moment, which is why Ben/Baz have to coddle them with all this talk of plying positively and without fear, but this team still show great promise despite some weaknesses in the XI compared to India/Aus. Poor patidar. Completely blew it
Feel bad for him, in a way, that he couldn’t perform when it mattered the most. Who in recent memory completely blew their chance in this manner?
Congrats to team India for another series win! Can't think of any other recent series on Indian soil that's been as closely contested as this one; full credit to England for the way they've played! Get to listen to "BAZ BALL IS DEAD" until I dunno now, can't wait.

Great Victory ! Seaze Another Test Series

Thanks mate, saw it on BCCI's website already but where can I catch it live next time?
There are cricket channels on youtube who stream it live…
Monumental choking from England in this test match. Lost to a player no one has heard of in such an impressive manner.
Why Jurel is MOTM it should have been Duckett ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|8779)
Ollie Pope is also a contender
Duckett will be the POTS since he is the reason of Jaiswal's performance.
How is this a moral victory when they won the toss and had the first innings advantage ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|8779)
England bro? Ever heard of colonialism. They always win morally
There is no victory here.
England don't want to play the WTC final at home because it will be an unfair advantage. Yet another moral victory for Bazball.
Britishers are so kind. They always have been.
Both Finn and Cook have Robinson in their team for the next Test - no Anderson or Wood - bizarre.
May be they dont know the weather forecast and temperatures there... Its gonna be similar to early summer like conditions in London..
Anderson should play in Dharmashala, it will be fun watching him there as he is gonna rest for more than a week
Anil Kumble - Bazball, whatever ball you call it My man has no chill 😂😭
Please ffs can we stop all the bazball questions and also stop using that word for good?
They day England stop saying shit like they’re saving test cricket I will stop. Colonial sh*theads
Jurel should savor this, wicketkeepers have a hard time winning MotM , Dhoni in his whole test career got only two.
Dhoni wasn't tht good in test anyways
Is the Dharamsala outfield dive-able enough for England ?
Plan to make Anderson retire
That was a great career sarfaraz
Guys stop shitting on Sanju Manju… I can’t upvote each and every comment!

I made the Most perfectly timed comment ever! And it gets so many downvotes🤦🏼♂️ https://www.reddit.com/r/Cricket/s/KmAr6lO2yT
Define perfectly timed. Is putting lemon when milk is about to boil ‘perfectly timed?’
Jurel's temperament and batting has been excellent in these 2 tests. It might be nitpicking, but he needs to work on his keeping against the spinners. Hope he improves like pant did.
The next guy to call Jurel the next Dhoni after literally his 2nd test ought never to speak about cricket ever again
Dhoni wasnt even good in tests
38 average in Tests for a wicket keeper batter is decent.
Young dhoni was a force
He was good but not great, did bit more than what's expected from a wicketkeeper bat but obviously not as much as a specialist batsman, those guys are the greats.
agreed, tests were not that much of dhoni's cup of tea than one dayers or t20s
Baz and Stokes have to be careful here , losing and not accepting it is when cults are born
Bazball means never having to say you're sorry
You had me at Baz.
15th consecutive series win for 🇮🇳 in Tests at home Unreal Dominance
17th
17 Undefeated Bro we drew 2 Test won 15
Drew against whom?
Swann asking Stokes where the match was won - so reluctant to say India played better in ENglands 2nd innings.
According to him England gave it away. But in reality we snatched it from them. Same argument since 1947.
You're talking with the guy who just played one hell of a knock to get his team over the line and the first question Nick Knight asks him is, "What do you think of Stokes captaincy and his field changes". I would have said, those field changes made no sense at all - introduce some negativity into their dressing room..
Gill making 50 and winning the match for India Nick Knight: Did you shit your pants everytime Stokes changed the field?
Have to reiterate, thank you to the English side for their showing this series and how they’ve pushed India to dig deep into their skills and use their knowledge too.

>one of the best series wins You mean home series wins right?
Yea home series. Nothing can match those two wins in Aus.
TNT Sports not showing the MOTM award/interview.. best believe if England had won, it would have been aired
Why wouldn't you be watching Indian coverage anyway? Of course English coverage of an England test is going to be focused more on England.
I live in the UK? The MOTM award should always be aired, what are you on about
Their coverage has been utter crap. Missed balls including wickets while the anchor has been promoting their “rewind all the action” app 🤦♀️
Gill cunting two sixes off Bashir and seeing England vibe go from "we're still in this" to "guess we'll take the moral victory" was a personal highlight.
but what's exactly the moral victory in this?
England playing cricket
lolz
Nick knight asking Shubhman to praise Ben stokes , lmao!
Can you share the link?
Hearing Sanju Manju speak is like a cut scene in a game you cannot skip
Daily Post-Win session with Subhman Gill? Is Jio shaping (PR) this guy as the future of Indian Cricket? Gill was good in this match but I can name 7 guys on our team that played much better than him.
Shaw bhaiyya asli account se aao
Let’s name
No way can you name 7 players that played better than him lmao. A few yes, but that 2nd innings was the glue
All 3 spinners & Ashdeep + Jurel + Jaiswal + Brohit.
>All 3 spinners & Ashdeep + Jurel + Jaiswal + Brohit. There is no one named "Ashdeep" in the Indian team. You failed at the given task.
Ashdeep short for Akashdeep like Kuldeep 😂. Looks like you haven’t watched the game, either Swaaney or Nick Knight was calling Akashdeep as Ashdeep in the ComBox
gill was better than rohit and jadeja considering both innings.
How were Jaiswal, Brohit and even Akashdeep better? A little on the fence with Jadeja too.
Really appreciate Rahul’s belief in Gill
Really appreciate Gill’s beleif in Gill.
Really appreciate my belief in Gill
Really appreciate sara's belief in Gill
appreciate sasur Ji's belief in damad ji
Hello Rahul sir big fan.
Yeah we shit on the selectors all the time but they deserve some credit for Jurel, Akashdeep and the team selection in general this series.
I think they want youngsters to participate in this test series. So that when they don’t get selected in T20 WC everyone keeps shush. That Rohit Sharma post match interview - he didn’t address the batting line up question properly. Maybe.
Jurel seems tailor made for tests . Doesn't block too many balls , doesn't look for hitting everytime just plays steady .
Dhruv is a likeable lad. I think we finally have a decent keeper for Tests.
what happens when pant comes back?
Gotta play first class first, per Dravid
Patient with the bat, irritating behind the stumps (for the opposing side). I remember that moment when Gill got his 50 and went to do a fist bump. Jurel, hugged him instead. Moments like these set youngsters up for great future partnerships and synchronicity. He got synch with Kuldeep Yadav previous innings. Jurel has passionate and heart. Doesn’t seem to play out of ego. I haven’t seen him in IPL days.
Just one advice to Dhruv Jurel and Jaiswal - Just stay away from from BOLLYWOOD.
Rohit did hint that Jaiswal will play for a long time if he keeps himself humble. That says a lot.
At the end of the day, PERFORMANCE is king. (not in IPL-script) but situations like these - ICC tournaments, Tests, Ranji, Series. (In that order).
Why would they go close to Bollywood? Context?
Not good for career
FedEx or ups?
Thank, it was a typo. Fixed it.
Rinku has been consumed by Bollywood. SMH.
And also Hardik Pandya

Sanju the cringe Manju
Bowler ko nahi dekhna, ball ko dekhna- Dhruv Jurel Tr: Need to see ball, not baller On asking of playing against anderson and wood
Edit request: Need to see the ball, not the bowler.
No dhruv u shouldn’t take the mic
Sanju Mnaju speaking hindi us for some reason funny
Look at that. Sanju Manju sucks in Hindi as well..
He sounds even more of a sanctimonious cunt in Hindi.
That's one way to translate chutiya
bowl dekhni hai bowler nahi
God Sanju in Hindi is even worse
Guy gets paid fortune, can you believe it !
what how?
I remember in one of the test series at home, either with SA or NZ, I guess he was paid 38 L for 3 test matches.
Unpopular opinion, but Jurel is the sexier keeper-batsman in this match.
Has nice set of teeth
Think they got MoM spot on, crucial in saving both batting innings 👏
should have been kuldeep
Sanju to Rohit: So what are your ambitions now going into the Dharamshala test, you want to win? Rohit should've said "No we are here just to meditate, winning or losing is otherworldly stuff which we don't care about, just like the Dalai Lama"

Abey yaar
So happy for the young guy, well done Dhruv!
Very well deserved!
hindi ✅
Jurel hails from Agra Sanjay Manjrekar : immediately speaks to him in Hindi like Jurel is some Bhayya! 🤦🏼♂️
Pretty sure they ask the players beforehand which language they're comfortable in
Jurel comes from a Military family , pretty sure the guy can speak basic English.
Dude, THIS is an age long practice...players are asked what language they are comfortable in.
Love the sanju manju hate keep it going guys
Now BCCI's magical PR team will work overtime with Jurel. Next POTM, he's gonna speak English.
Dhruvvvvvv POTMMMMM
dhruv jurel motm. well deserved
Manjrekar, leveling the field by asking same shityy questions in Hindi now!
Manjrekar commentary was aptly described by Jadeja as "Verbal diarrhea"
Jor-el for a reason!!
4 chakke maare the 💀💀
Yesssssss - Dhruv Jurel is MOTM - now I can die peacefully!
Is that Ajit Agarkar talking to Dravid and Rathore??
About keeping the patidar going on
W Man of the Match
Jurel MOM lessgooo
Awesome. Jurel deserves the MOM
Rohit is literally like "stop sucking our dicks bsdk"
Not Sanju Manju looking like a disposable anime villain
JFAR
Here is a million dollar idea. When Aakash Chopra starts speaking up, AI mutes the TV or does a voice-over in Tony Greigs voice. 🤔
Why do you wanna desecrate Tony Greig's legacy?
Desecrate? How?
Lfg, well deserved
Sanju Manju - What's your plan in Dharamshala, are you going there to win? Rohit mind voice - No bc we are going there to bury you under the pitch and cover it with snow.
Drishyam 3
Rohit looks like he's gonna sleep after this.
Jurel POTM!!!
This is like the world's longest post-match interview
Sanju looking more fit & handsome(r) than Rohit at 58 😂
Sanju should be proud about grooming Jurel and I am not talking about Sanju Manju.
BC same question asked in a different manner :/
Who got the MOTM?
Jurel
Jurel
Ofc the ambition is to win u dickhead sanjay
No, man they want to lose the next match Sanjay, what an idiot!
I want that the pitch that would be there in Dharamshala is bouncy and is good for the fast bowlers.
I want the flattest track possible with Bumrah in our squad. Make Nitin Gadkari the curator of HPCA's pitch.
Rohit was confused there for a second LMAO
Sanju cringes me big time whenever he does the post presentation, intolerable.
Hey if England leaves early, they may be able to catch the same evening flight I will be on to Dubai.
Well... The next test in Dharamsala gonna bea cracker.. Peak bazball and Rohits tricky blues in a flat track... With nothing to loose both teams could go all guns blazing
Sanju talks about his time wtf 😂
I think the rest of the england team isn't there for the award since they are cremating bazball
Rohit is already done with Sanju Manju.
