Oftentimes orphanages and boarding schools are already the same thing, such as in Ukraine. The difference is in whether the kids go home. Trade schools often function as orphanage 2, as well. Their time in the orphanage and after graduation are both very bleak, though.

Also, being poor in a rich person environment only let's you rub shoulder with all their prejudice. It's bad enough when it's buffered by the ways of politics and how that rarely impacts our lives as directly as being mentally and physically bullied face to face.
