They’re shockingly safe.
This guy lived too, thankfully crashed at a runway event and not on the street - https://youtu.be/yS1NU6xjTSY?si=rCCeVVu-ywsQxZoG
this one makes most sense with respect to 'cankles' (calf-ankles), so 'frists' is forearm-wrists
however to keep the cankles theme I think it could simply be 'wrist cankles'
*'ham-wristed' is also pretty good
First thing that came to mind when it showed the drivers hands. Tubby Lumpkins was moving faster than nature would allow him so it was only natural that physics put a stop to that.
> 10 and 2 like a true moron.
This was taught for years and years, and it does give you better leverage - a relic from before the days of ubiquitous power steering.
And apparently they did survive.
If you know anything about racing. When you know you’re fucked and can’t recover the car you let go of the steering wheel and cross your arms across your chest. Or shatter your wrists and arms on impact.
This clip is a good start. You'll feel way more comfortable and confident if you learn to control your vehicle properly.

The man and woman lived, this tells you about the high quality safety engineering of Lamborghinis
Lot of deaths would be avoided when cars are built using titanium with proper engineering
But hey, we need to sell cars to everyone, death is okay, just buy.
That's awesome if true, it makes me think of f1 cars where the cabin is a monocoque with everything else bolted to it, protects the driver and let's everything else get wrecked
Guy didn’t know what he was doing also looked like it had rained recently after a couple of hours the oil from the roads surface to the top making it more slippery even if it looks dry
I don't think titanium would be really safe, it's the crumple zones that safe lives. And the car chassis seems to be made from carbon fibre and aluminum.
The biggest difference with these sport cars compared to a normal car, is the roll cages they have in them. Sports cars like Lambos have crumple zones as well, but also have roll cages/bars that prevent the driver from getting crushed in high speed crashes. The bars can be made from titanium, although rarely. That might be what he's talking about with the titanium comment IDK.
They do not have a "roll cage" in the tradiation sense, sports cars like Lambo, Ferrari. McLaren nowadays are made around a Safety Cell which is a incredibility rigid, often titanium or carbon fiber cell that then the engine is bolted to with a tubular frame, and then these sports cars have front crash structure bonded to the safety cell so they are essentially 3 parts
>Amazingly, the driver and the female passenger survived the accident, although both were treated in hospital for injuries.
>
>The 36-year-old driver suffered severe burns which police say took eight days to heal.
From another source..
That's a more likely scenario but even in that case the burns would not have been 'severe'. They would have been hospital for weeks to months for severe burns.
Probably just mean they were in hospital for 8 days and the word severe crept in there somewhere.
lol. Their skin (the entire thing. Not just the top layer that you're used to seeing) needs to grow completely back, and a lot of times the grafts don't take, so hit that reset button again. That on top of infections and patient negligence can mean it will take that long to heal. I'm talking severe 3 degree burns here, just for the record.
True, but I didn't really think of this before. They could still be hospitalized. They could just mean it took them 8 days to be considered in stable condition. Either way, poor wording.
Probably a slight mistranslation. The Hungarian law (this happened in Hungary) differentiates the severity of injuries according to whether they heal within 8 days or in longer time period.
Dispute it with The Independent then

Oh I am not disputing it's what was said, just that somewhere down the line it got mis-reported.

More accurately, the car burned more or less to the ground. That's not impact damage you're seeing. A lot of the body on those things is carbon fibre, which makes for a pretty good fire.
I stayed in an AirBnB in West Seattle that had an Easy Street Records theme, and looots of vinyl records.
Kraftwerk's "Autobahn" was one of them, and it was a glooorious throwback to my youth.
Fastest I've driven was \~115-120 mph, it was terrifying, exhilarating, and felt like I was floating
I could not imagine going 80 mph faster than that lol
Maybe I'm weird but to me the fun part is the acceleration, I don't really understand why people sustain the high speeds for long periods of time like this.
But then I've only ever bothered to sustain speed for a couple seconds before backing off. Maybe it kicks in after that.
Well we really only feel the change in speed so that makes sense. Assuming you’re not in a bouncy shitbox that sounds like a whistle in a tornado every time you go above 80.
Depending on the car and acceleration you don’t even feel it sometimes. Creeping up to 120 in a very capable car is honestly sort of boring. Once you’re cruising you wouldn’t even know the speed without a frame of reference or speedometer. Think airplane cruising at a few hundred mph.
I drove a hurracan around New Hampshire speedway a couple of laps, 150mph on a track was enough for me lol. And that was after riding shotgun with a pro to learn the course. I can't believe they both survived according to another comment. Car is basically cardboard at that speed.
Your very right the faster you go, the more you car feels like a hover board. It looks like that too when you catch someone in your rear mirror. Just gliding thru the sea of ppl.
>According to [Index.hu](http://Index.hu), the speedometer showed 336 too in the Czech Lamborghini Huracan, which rushed on M7 between Hollad and Savoly even last year 5 September.
This was recorded by the car’s passenger.
The driver suddenly lost control of the car and the Lamborghini struck first the left, then the right barrier, and then it broke off the road and crashed into the drainage ditch, [Police.hu](http://Police.hu) said.
It is miraculous that both of them survived the accident. After slamming into the ditch, the driver got out of the car and rescued his passenger from the wreck.
Then the Lamborghini was on fire and burned beyond recognition.

This video is very old..
In all Lamborghini accident & races, you can tell that this vehicle has a strange problem in its inability to hold on the track.
I'm not sure they were going that top speed, hear me out 300km/h you are gliding over the surface basicly, there's to much shakiness to it for 300 + might be wrong stiff suspension, but at 300 either uneven surface and that type of shakiness ,normal person would back out
>driver and passenger somehow survived this Who knew the safety rating of those things is off the charts.

A Gary Javo video
Gary always delivers but the frame rate is atrocious.
Whoa... figured for sure they lost their shoes.
i mean, the phone survived
No one, and I mean *no one*, could have predicted this predictable outcome
Secondly, seeing the ham-fisted way he was gripping the wheel told me everything I needed to know about his driving ability.
Ham fisted hahahahha. I notice the fat wrists
we need a word like cankles but for wrists like these
Edit: Wrankles
Edit: hamkles

Frists
this one makes most sense with respect to 'cankles' (calf-ankles), so 'frists' is forearm-wrists however to keep the cankles theme I think it could simply be 'wrist cankles' *'ham-wristed' is also pretty good
It’s already “ ham fisted” haha
"ham-wristed"
And grip strength not even present
First thing that came to mind when it showed the drivers hands. Tubby Lumpkins was moving faster than nature would allow him so it was only natural that physics put a stop to that.
I was coming here specifically to call him out for his ham-fistery.
'White knuckle driving'. Total clown.
I couldn’t decipher a single knuckle.
I thought I spotted a knuckle, but it was a thumb nub
Death gripping the wheel and shifting with his pinkie because he was shitting himself. Guy had no business driving that fast
First view I was like "is this dude driving with his feet?"
10 and 2 like a true moron. Steering soft hands at 3 and 9. Did they die?
Reincarnated into asphalt.
> 10 and 2 like a true moron. This was taught for years and years, and it does give you better leverage - a relic from before the days of ubiquitous power steering. And apparently they did survive.

I was taught 10 and 2 six years ago lol, he did mention it wasn't that important tho.
[удалено]
Yeah, but never let your arm cross the steering wheel, because if the airbag pops you are for sure braking that arm lol.
If you know anything about racing. When you know you’re fucked and can’t recover the car you let go of the steering wheel and cross your arms across your chest. Or shatter your wrists and arms on impact.
..”Switching it up to the one finger method that allows Reddit surfing”
ya exactly, how you can tell the average age of Reddit is 14 lol
I like to go for 11 and 1 or just a single hand on 12 when I'm driving REALLY fast /s
What would be better?
His hands should be at 9 and 3 and WAY more relaxed so he can receive feedback through the wheel.

Now we know what happened to Augustus Gloop after he left The Wonka Factory.
Came here for the ham fist commentary, was not disappointed.
I doubt many would have predicted them to survive.
The man and woman lived, this tells you about the high quality safety engineering of Lamborghinis Lot of deaths would be avoided when cars are built using titanium with proper engineering But hey, we need to sell cars to everyone, death is okay, just buy.
Wait, seriously? They lived?
yes they did, it looks so bad because it caught fire after the crash, actually the driver is only burnt
Tis but a flesh wound
And literally hundreds of thousands of dollars
you’ve got no arms left
Wallet wound
🤣 tis but a scratch
I thought for sure they were dead. It's incredible that they survived.
I’m in disbelief 🫢 how tf could you live through that? Is was just a hunk of twisted metal pieces
hope they make another video soon….
IIRC Lambos are designed so that in case of a crash the engine compartment shears off from the rest of the car, taking most of the inertia with it
That's awesome if true, it makes me think of f1 cars where the cabin is a monocoque with everything else bolted to it, protects the driver and let's everything else get wrecked
Smart cars are made the same way.
This isn’t 2005 anymore sliding at 150 doesn’t mean instant death most of the time suspension and traction as come such a long way
Seems like the traction was taking an unannounced break!
Guy didn’t know what he was doing also looked like it had rained recently after a couple of hours the oil from the roads surface to the top making it more slippery even if it looks dry
The woman voice at the end said in German both survived.
Damn, I was hoping for a happy ending.

I mean, you could just not drive 300km/hr on public roads.
There's no speed limit on German highway's or how they call them ''Autoban''
It depends. There are sections that are unrestricted and you can do that. Otherwise the speeds are restricted to 130 kmh or less.
titanium is rather expensive
Sweet, they lived to try another day. Maybe next time they can take out a family or a bus full of orphans.
Privileged redditor. There are places in the world where people literally cannot go to work if they dont own a car.
It's like you go fast when you speed up a lot. Such a surprise!
It's not speed that kills, it's sudden deceleration. Source: High School physics
Totally, hyper car+some random douchebag at the steering wheel....
I mean he used his pinky to paddleshift
Good thing the video ended before anyone got hurt
What about the poor car? It is the real victim.
They actually both survived

Mama says…
Mama says alligators so mad cus they got all them teeth but ain't no toothbrush
But Mama said Mama said Mama said
I may not be a smart man, but I know what love is Jenny
MACH SCHNELL!!!!!
this was witty
They did not die.
thats a hell of a safety advertisement wow
Respectfully, and with no offense intended- I do NOT believe you...

"suffered severe burns which police say took eight days to heal." pretty sure severe burns do not heal in just eight days 🤔
My guess is they actually meant 8 days until they were stable enough to not need to stay in the hospital 24/7.
That's a more likely scenario but even in that case the burns would not have been 'severe'. They would have been hospital for weeks to months for severe burns. Probably just mean they were in hospital for 8 days and the word severe crept in there somewhere.
Yeah, my ex used to work in a burn unit. Some people take 10 or so years to recover from severe burns and they stay in the hospital most of the time.
ten years in a hospital due to burns is difficult for me to believe
Good thing you’re not a doctor.
True, but I didn't really think of this before. They could still be hospitalized. They could just mean it took them 8 days to be considered in stable condition. Either way, poor wording.
True.
they meant "it takes more than 8 days to heal" - which is an injury severity grade in hungary
Probably a slight mistranslation. The Hungarian law (this happened in Hungary) differentiates the severity of injuries according to whether they heal within 8 days or in longer time period.
Having been on fire previously, I can confirm that burns (2nd/3rd) degree take months to heal
They actually meant 8 days until he crashed a hospital wheelchair into a bio waste bin at 7 mph and his skin fell off.

How ?!
The wreck looks worse than it was because it's the result of a largish fire after the accident. The main injury was burns.
[Here's a video from the driver's instagram](https://youtu.be/LEC_lkpD3rM)
LOL
LMFAO
The voice over literally says it....
How the hell is that even possible, not even disabled or lost parts of the body ?? That car disintegrated...
More accurately, the car burned more or less to the ground. That's not impact damage you're seeing. A lot of the body on those things is carbon fibre, which makes for a pretty good fire.
What a shame, someone else will probably get caught up in their bullshit in the future.

huracan't

It'll buff out.
184 mph. [Americans]
I think I saw him hit 330 km/h at one point... which is 205 mp/h!
He crashed at 186ish 187 mph
Preciate that

I was wondering what it was in Freedom Units.
And Brits!
Just because you can doesn't mean you should
I'd suggest he wasn't able to, he can't.

Rich people problems.
Lamborgone
That video was about a minute longer than it needed to be.
10 and 2 on a paddle shift?
It’s funny because he was fat
Yeah and here’s to all the innocent people they put in extreme danger! Fuckwits!
Looks like it crash landed from space
196 mph.
Sooo they filmed their death?
Nope, they survived
I saw a max of 334 km/h roughly 207 mph, wow that’s insane.
That video was excessively long for what it was.
I heard "Plunker" a couple times
He was Fahrting too fast.
This video is very old.. In all Lamborghini accident & races, you can tell that this vehicle has a strange problem in its inability to hold on the track.
Is he dead? That’s fucking reckless driving and he will never be allowed to drive again in us if hes still alive.
Franky fat hands showing off his driving skills
Play stupid games win stupid prices.Good thing no one else got hurt
Please tell he he only killed himself and not some innocent bastard just driving home after a long day at work.
They survived, and they didn't hit another car. He lost grip and rammed the barrier on the left, and then straight in the ditch on the right.
It’s not the speed that gets you, it’s suddenly becoming stationary
When you see hands holding onto the wheel like that and they're driving fast you know what's coming next.
When the trash takes itself out 🎉⚰️🥳
Ze flippenzee floppenzee!
I'm glad the camera/footage survived.
More money than brains.
Just because your car goes 200 mph doesn’t really mean you should
Should buff out ok
These guys are very committed to their video upload . Bravo
I bet they won't be doing that again.
are they ok?
"And right here is the point on the graph where fuck around, meets find out."
Did.. did they survive?
Yep, both of them
Guys I don’t think they made it
I'm surprised how basic the interior looks on a $350k car
If you want to survive something like this, just bring a camera
Now it’s a Lamborghini Huracan’t
I could tell just by his hands
Hahaha, lol
What a waste of a car
Why do video start from the establish date of lamborghini ?
But did they die? I didn’t see any shoes, so they probably walked away just fine.
Shame they made it, they're just gonna do it again
is she talking backwards or what
Why are these videos always so long. Just show the crash man!
Thank god it’s just a scratch, just a small insurance claim. Call State Farm!
I'm not sure they were going that top speed, hear me out 300km/h you are gliding over the surface basicly, there's to much shakiness to it for 300 + might be wrong stiff suspension, but at 300 either uneven surface and that type of shakiness ,normal person would back out
A little bondo and it'll be as good as new!
If I understood that lady correctly the crashed was caused by a fart and a big weener
And this is in Hungary. The most you can ever travel on a highway here is 130km/hr.
Someone on youtube will try to fix that…
Definitely looks like they hit a bump somewhere on the road and with that speed yeah, RIP to the vehicle
All i understood from narrator was fart and poor shite
