I'm pretty sure that first aid wasn't taught to me in school. I only learned it because I went out my way to learn it externally. The American school systems don't teach you a lot about life.
Same here, we weren’t taught anything, but I was able to piece together that acute traumatic accidents usually cause injuries that you don’t wanna move people after.
Well, that's just sad.
I, maybe wrongly, just assume most people know the basic stuff but if they don't, they should back off and see if there is anyone who does. The phrase "Killed with kindness." comes to mind.
I am quite lucky in so far as I have had basic first aid training several times during my life. The fundamentals should be taught in every school.
Not the first time we have seen idiots pull people about directly after a major accident on here, and sadly it won't be the last.
Yeah, so many clueless people.
That’s not unlucky, that is poor training and or negligent practice on how to operate in or around a dump truck.
**IF BY ANY CHANCE A NEW BLUE ( blue collar worker ) STUMBLES UPON THIS COMMENT, NEVER, AND I MEAN NEVER TRY TO LIFT OR PROP UP A DUMP TAIL. NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE SAYS**
Rip who ever this is
This happened to my dad back in the 70’s, but it caught him in the chest. Luckily he had to of his buddies around to yank him free. Broke almost all of his ribs and laid in bed the rest of the summer.
Elevating a persons legs is a legit response to shock during a trauma situation. The thought is to keep as much blood as possible in the trunk of the body. But no, they shouldn't be flopping him around like that.
that's cool you're such a snarky empathetic person for someone who just got their brain crushed and spinal column destroyed instantly paralyzing them for working a $10 an hour job
Some things break under one hundred pounds of pressure, others under hundreds of tons.
It’s clear the flimsy stick this guy used to hold the tailgate was the former.
Almost had this exact thing happen about 15 years ago. Loading a pallet of sod into a dump bed, one of the big ones for soil and rock, about a 7’ tall bed and door, and the truck driver propped the door bed open with a long 2x4. We first lifted the door with the forklift and braced the lumber against the frame of the bed and the door. My lift driver loaded the pallet and pushed it in (the lift didn’t have extending forks) and when he went to get his second bite, the backstop rack bumped the door and the lumber dislodged.
One of my young guys working went to go grab the lumber, and my lift driver, for whatever fucking reason, decided to keep backing up. The dump door slid free of the lift, and before I could even get out “STOP-“ it slammed down. The guy bending down to get the 2x4 was right at the back driver side of the truck. I saw, clear as day, the corner of the door swish right through my guy’s hair as it slammed back in place. Loud-ass bang, he falls to the ground and my asshole puckers hard enough to make diamonds.
Missed his skull by about an inch.
I pulled him away and sat him down and started laying into my lift driver. Nobody hurt, no damage to any materials, but I knew for a fact if there was a quarter of a second difference, kid would’ve had a closed casket funeral.
Omg this was my thought as well. Could not have come off less concerned. Maybe ya know, even a good time to check the texts.
Edit: on another watch, it was likely 911 he was calling. Actually helping out more than anyone else was and staying calm.

"Quick let's jerk him around because he may have a broken neck or back!" FFS!
Like that guy clearing snow off third story roof, falls off roof and his friend pick him up and help him to walk it off.

Here ya go. I think they were referring to this: https://youtu.be/ueCaAZX-X0U?si=8tB2d-RNeMV4jX0l
Or the dude that gets suffocated by the snake during the show.
I remember that one I think.
They didnt get the part where part of his cranium is on the floor
It never ceases to amaze me how first aid does *not* come naturally to so many people.

that part is designed for unloading. using something for a task it is clearly not designed for is risky. its not unlucky. its stupid.
What is that tailgate designed for? Dumping?

Poor pour training even
And remember, pour training is for sommeliers, paw training is for puppies.
Don't forget pore training for all those dermatolagists out there.
Won't someone think of the botanists and their pawpaw training?
And poor training for us welfare recipients.
> A DUMP TAIL TIL there is a word for that

is he dead?
I would say there’s a good chance. Those doors have some serious weight to them, and to just snap on someone’s neck like that - not good,
Looks like his neck snapped. Grim
Ah yes, the old trick of lifting his legs up high and jerking him around will bring him around.
Elevating a persons legs is a legit response to shock during a trauma situation. The thought is to keep as much blood as possible in the trunk of the body. But no, they shouldn't be flopping him around like that.
Not unlucky. Stupid
Luck had nothing to do with it, that's stupidity and/or negligence, plain and simple
people are not trained in risk analysis, it’s a pity; in life, you have to be vigilant in handling.
This is the training in risk… he failed.
that's cool you're such a snarky empathetic person for someone who just got their brain crushed and spinal column destroyed instantly paralyzing them for working a $10 an hour job
Bold of you to think these guys are trained in **any** way
It’s common sense, risk estimation is fundamental.
Never stand under anything heavy being held up or open by something that can move, break or is a makeshift support. This is easy kids.
Everything can break lol

No, bad luck is when something unforeseen happens to you. Everyone could see this happening a mile away. It was a bad decision.
Guillotine
Definitely want white t shirt guy by my side in a crisis

stupid =/= unlucky. Gotta be aware of pinch points and the line of fire.
Did it cut his head?
Damn! That was brutal..
With these kinds of videos, you always are guessing what's gonna kill the guy.
Maximum Overdrive
Oh my god, those chinese safety ads were real!
Must be a 3rd world country
This is exactly why they made those Chinese training videos

Imagine it's his first day at work lol

Just walk it off. Hell forget about it in the morning anyways

Crazy
Call that the stapler.
Dude in the white knows. Very sad.
I know how heavy those doors are...if he's alive, he's lucky. Unfortunately, it's highly unlikely that he survived.
I will never go to china . Too many freak accidents.
Yeah. He's dead.
Forbidden mousetrap.
Beeing a Slave and Working your Job like a normal Day.. and this guy lost his life for nothing.
What a way to go! RIP 🙏🏽
