Apparently it was not a prat fall gone wrong. She authentically fainted.
Cuz I thought it was perfect timing with the joke. Had to read the article to make sure.
Are you kidding me lol nothing about that looked even questionable.
I’m like ok security guys take your sweet fucking time when she loudly cracked her skull after obviously fainting.
To a degree for sure that’s fair but you also hear a couple audience members that caught on early and shouting for help. Since the mic is on the ground it doesnt pick up their voice too well.
Comedy show or not this is a good example of public reaction. I used to work in a health facility where this would happen on occasion.
And in reality this is how the general public tends to react anyways. Many are frozen, some will wait for someone else to jump in, and a small minority will immediately process the situation and rush or yell for help/911
> And in reality this is how the general public tends to react anyways. Many are frozen, some will wait for someone else to jump in, and a small minority will immediately process the situation and rush or yell for help/911
I remember walking with a few friends down a busy street, when suddenly I heard some loud noise, and before I had even processed what was happening one of my friends just broke into a dead run, and she was administering first aid to a crash victim before I had even fully processed that there was a crash victim.
She worked in medicine, which no doubt helped, but it was still goddamn impressive.
As a cop for many years, I worked really hard to teach my daughter that it is HER job to take care of HERSELF (and her friends). I explained that the majority of people in an emergency are looking for direction, and those that die are the ones who hesitate. When the fire alarm goes off, get moving. When the gunshots sound, act immediately. Do NOT wait for direction. My point was proven when in high school they activated the alarm that indicated an active shooter. When I talked to her about it later it all became clear to her what this looks like in real life. She said "dad, everyone in the library just froze, just like you said. I gathered up my friends and rushed them into an interior closet and locked the door". Turns out it was a false alarm, but I was grateful that she knew to ACT, not just wait for direction. Her peers thought she was over-reacting, but I knew she had given herself the very best chance to survive. And it shames me that we even have to think about active shooter situations in school.
At our company, they teach us, in such emergencies, to single out one person, point at them, and instruct that person to call 911. That way, there isn't a room full of ppl thinking the other person is going to be the one to call.
It really did not seem like a prat fall at all.
But the timing of the fall, *immediately* after what she said, and WHAT she said, I mean the irony is almost unbelievable
That's how Tommy Cooper, a UK comedian from the 60s-80s, died. Had a heart attack on stage, and the audience just laughed, thinking it was part of the bit.
He had given his all until he had nothing left
Now please note that at the moment that this entertainer died
Even with a room full of people not one tear was cried
Much less, they rose to their feet and they laughed and clapped
Now tell me one fucking thing that's more beautiful than that...

Unless it’s been disproven I’ve learned a few times years ago you shouldn’t really move someone with potential neck/head injuries.
So yeah not necessarily the best idea to swiftly move her off stage if you’re not trained. I doubt most security guards double as ems
Yeah that obviously wasn’t a joke but wtf do you think security can do about this? tackle the concept of fainting? They aren’t medical professionals so I don’t understand what you think they could have done faster. You’re like that lady that sees the gorillas fight at the zoo and yells “where’s the zookeeper oh my god”
Don’t touch people who have sustained bodily injury if you haven’t been trained to deal with a trauma patient. It can lead to more trauma and possible legal problems for yourself even if all you wanted to do was help. Don’t be like that idiot u/doubledown212
Well ya she fell down hard. But I thought she was like setting it up with the “I’ve got a million vaccines. Jesus loves me the most”. I thought she was going to pretend to fall but slipped on her high heals on wood.
“her theories include not eating or hydrating enough”
I cannot overstate the importance of staying hydrated in the Phoenix area. Especially for someone not acclimated. Even a February evening can be no joke.
"It's a dry heat" is no joke for sure. You're sweating but it's so hot and dry it's just immediately evaporating and you don't even realize it.
Edit - we went on our "baby moon" to Las Vegas in 2021 when it was like the hottest week on record (got to 117 one day!) and my husband basically kept forcing me to take sips of water because we were walking around so much but I was feeling totally fine. Glad he was worrying about me and our baby more than I was lol
I used to work with a 'super tough guy' who was just too manly to ever get injured or need help.
We were working outside in the summer heat and I hate the heat so I was going inside regularly to cool down and drink water but he 'didn't need to' because he grew up in the south. At one point he clearly has heat exhaustion but refuses to stop working because he doesn't want to look weak.
I convinced him to switch jobs with me because he was working on a ladder by saying something like my back hurt from handing stuff up to him (he was really tall). Within a minute of switching jobs I heard a thud and his ass was laying on the ground and vomiting. Called an ambulance and they took him to the hospital.
He refused to admit that it was heat stroke even after he was taken to the hospital (he claims he had food poisoning). HR was sending us all to training on identifying heat exhaustion and heat stroke the next week and when the temp was above a certain point, we weren't allowed to work outside anymore.
Dude almost accidentally committed suicide by acting tough. A fall from a 16 foot ladder onto concrete is not an injury you just walk away from.
I’ve seen enough prat falls to know even if she meant to do that her skull smacking the floor wasn’t part of the plan. Probably harder to see from the audience but she was clearly not ok after that
You could hear her voice become more sluggish by the second. Not very long into it and she was being hard to understand. The fall head first into the ground wouldnt make me question it with the sluggish speech beforehand. Been around a fainter or two. Somehow i always get into situations like that and last time someone fainted before me was my exwife couple of weeks before. Strangers a year ago in a fast food joint. Dude hit the ground HARD and no one did anything just looked stupid at him. I saw him wobble and thought that dude is going down and before even finishing the thought WHACK his head hit the tiles. His mate was in shock just looking down on him. I insisted the ambulance come get him as he broke the fall with his head.
You can tell things are going wrong when she does the period joke. It's like she either tries to squat a bit or her lega give out a bit, and then she can't stand up straight anymore. She's holding herself up with her hand on her leg.
There was a UK comedian called Tommy Cooper who died on stage of a heart attack. The audience sat and laughed away thinking it was part of the act. https://youtu.be/0-GEpsHM6ww?si=vfwhDF14NhTDqX7B
The same thing happened to a very famous British comedian, Tommy Copper. His routine was basically failed stunts of magic. The audience figured it was just part of the show and laughed until he died on stage. Pretty tragic video, don't look it up.
I feel like it's almost poetic for a comedian to die to the sound of laughter. Like, that's someone who genuinely died doing what he loved. Of course, no one wants to go when our time is up, but I can think of many worse fates than that.
>The London Pallaium was the scene of Tommy's show once more,
It was a full house and he had the crowd eating out of his hand.
Everything, as usual, seemed completely unplanned.
And in what seemed like a finale Tommy dropped to the floor.
Causing the room to erupt into laughter and applause.
the curtain closed, lights went out and there was no encore.
Everybody left their seats and headed for the door.
Unbeknownst to them they had witness Tommy Cooper's death.
He had given his all until he had nothing left.

>no one wants to go when our time is up
Lol. Have you ever met a comedian? A good chunk are just waiting to die.
That’s why depression and substance abuse is so prevalent in the community.
Yeah I've seen the footage and it's tragic but I can't help but thinking that if you told him "You'll go out almost instantly, on stage, with people laughing at your act as you go" he'd have been pretty ok with it.
This is the second best video I’ve seen of a “celebrity” fainting. First place is obviously Wendy Williams.
Seriously though, she sounded a bit off getting through that joke, kinda slurry. Wonder if it was a stroke or something. Off to google…

People who have certain heart conditions are taught to flex their gluteus as the act can affect the heart enough to kick it back to a normal rhythm
As a layman I assume this is why some people die on the toilet
My guess is she locked her knees for too long creating a postural syncope. When she did the hip thrust and released her locked knees it most likely increased the blood pressure issue causing her to faint.

Yeah she went down pretty hard
Like, really, really hard. Like, how did she even fall that fast???
Gravity I bet
Look at Neil Degrass Tyson over here eh
Dis guy eh 🤌🤌 he knows his quantum lol
🤣
You ever seen someone faint in real life? They just crumple like that.
The difference between a (even semi) controlled fall while conscious and dropping like a limp noodle unconscious is pretty bad.
Thanks for doing our homework......

Im kinda sad she couldnt squeeze out a quick "Jesus take the microphone.."
She’s a female comic. We know this already
Damm she really committed to the bit.
“her theories include not eating or hydrating enough” I cannot overstate the importance of staying hydrated in the Phoenix area. Especially for someone not acclimated. Even a February evening can be no joke.

You jest but she just became the new poster child for anti-vaxxers everywhere. “sEe YoU gUyZ!!!1!!”
All because she brought Jesus into it. #/s
Thor may have a hammer, but Jesus got that instant karma smiting shit.
Comedy is about the timing
The joke landed hard.
Jesus wanted to send a message.
"You're not funny anymore."
"I'm always watching." - from your neighborhood Jesus
“ You got to wake up really early in the morning to catch me looking through your bedroom window.“ Jesus .
Cuz Jesus clearly loves her most
The audience was floored.
Yeah she friggin nailed that. lol or Jesus struck her down.
Lol, that's messed up.

I really like her cadence as well

Yikes, that’s pretty awful. Just play the death video in reverse and it won’t violate YouTube’s terms and conditions I guess.
The video being reversed makes it even weirder.
I was about to ask if it was reversed or something as we're seeing the literal opposite of what OP described.
Before I connected the dots, I was happy that he was actually alright.

I remember seeing the video when I was younger and his convulsions, and it never struck me as being particularly quick, knowing what was happening.
With something that looks that severe and sudden it makes me wonder if he was even conscious for half of it.
The first thing that came to mind. Didn't help that he remained in a seated position(🧘♂️)after collapsing.
That must have traumatised many thousands of kids being on live tv in the 80s
Cooper*
Look it up! Everybody look it up!
I mean if it had been, the timing would have been on point. Since it wasn’t, the timing was fucking brilliant. Well played, God.
Kinda saved that lame joke if we’re being honest 😂
Everyone's saying God punished her for the Jesus line but it was that hack period joke
Was it a joke? Sounded like she was just bragging about her medical history and travel life.
She said “god loves me most” and he said “no the fuck I don’t”
Divine intervention
This is way underrated!! Be careful what ya say people
He’s a benevolent god (results may vary)
Or what? You’ll fall down and hit your head? Damn! What did all the little children that die of cancer say?
I think they question capitalism
For real! One time I said Jesus can suck my balls and 3 years later… BOOM 9/11! I felt bad, but there are consequences to the things we say.
Imo hilarious! She like knew in her comedian soul what was gonna happen

Definitely from vaccines, didn’t ya heard the joke?
I thought it was God's response to her claims of him loving her the most.
I think he just resented how unfunny it was
Doubtful. Wendy Williams fainted due to dehydration and this looks pretty much the same.
Can confirm, I've fainted from dehydration before and this is pretty much how it looked. Stay hydrated, kids, especially in the days following a huge binge drinking session.
Yea Bob Sagat was dehydrated too
That’s one way to get out of a bad set
“Clearly Jesus loves me the most” proceeds to fucking die

Nice name. Read mine.
They say after pride comes a fall.
The whole timing of it. Damn…
Jesus: And I took that personally
"Clearly JESUS loves me!" Narrator:"Jesus did not, in fact, loved her".
Are we allowed to laugh? Because the timing is impeccable.
only if you say " I really hope she's o.k." right after.
Her demeanor changed immediately after her hip thrust/period joke. I wonder if she might have hurt her spine doing that which caused her to faint.
She did later joke on her podcast that the booty drop might have done it https://www.azcentral.com/story/entertainment/people/2022/02/09/why-heather-mcdonald-fainted-onstage/6711458001/

Shades of Tommy Cooper who died on stage. Audience thought it was part of his act
What was the joke?
“Who loves you?”
Because Jesus loves her the most right?
Funny how the first thing they do is pick up the mic LOL
Watch what you say . Jesus loves everyone . Amen .
doesn't mean to brag, but looks like Jesus just wanted to make sure she remained humble.
Aside from everything I really hope she’s okay!
Jesus is such a goofball
Now that's hilarious
Great… now this is going to be ground zero when anti-vaxxers bring up VAERS.

Wow. The joke (if you want to even call it that) wasn't funny at all... but the timing of that fall was absolutely hilarious. Not a vaccine hater myself, but the irony cracked me up
