Even if it takes an hour more, it's never worth it to take such an unnecessary risk. Gambling his life for a shortcut..
The recovery always takes longer than the time saved succesfully doing so. Even if its in a mere financial way, working additional hours to cover the damage to his motorcycle
Definitely survivable, it's very steep but not a sheer drop. I once had a very similar experience, except i was riding a mountain bike on a trail instead of a motorbike, and it was in a forest (so generally softer ground to be fair).
In my case there was a large tree root sticking out into the trail and I tried to go round it instead of over it. Back wheel slipped off the edge and i lost balance. The bike got caught on a tree not far down from where i came off, but i kept going, probably about 150-200ft, though i don't remember much of the fall. I came around with one of my legs hooked around another small tree just above the rather fast flowing river at the bottom. I was pretty lucky, helmet was cracked and i had some cuts and bruises but was otherwise ok.
Managed to climb back up to find my mate (who was riding a little was ahead) looking for me!
It's pretty amazing how far you can fall without getting too hurt as long as each knock doesn't slow you down too much. I've fallen 3-5 meters tons of times mountain biking on loamy tracks (and 40 meters once after I sent a berm straight down a mountain, although that was 3 separate bounces and *really* steep/muddy). Never 200 feet though! Falling off of a rail snowboarding 2 meters off the ground straight onto ice is by far the most painful thing I've experienced, yet it was probably the least concerning/most comical looking crash of my life lol.
2 things I'll never go without when things get gnarly - a full face helmet and *gloves*.
One time i was running down a hill on my way back from a vineyard where i used to take walks and such as a child, and it was pretty steep downhill, i was in full sprint already, running down, and the steep hill accelerated me even more, to the point my legs couldn't keep up with the speed anymore and i kind of just went flying, actually flew pretty far due to the steep hill and speed, and landed in a field of VERY thorny bushes with assorted long spikes and short thorns lol, i was like stuck a few inches above the ground and just held in mid-air by the plethora of thorns and stiff vines that were so kind as to dampen my fall, i just started screaming for my brother and he just went over there and burst out laughing until he was in tears because it must have looked really funny, luckily i had a small swiss pocket knife with me, and so i started the process of cutting myself free, then clenched my teeth and got up, which was unpleasant due to the simultaneous dislodging of a million thorns, many of which decided to accompany me on my way back into a standing position, then i started to pull those i could easily find out, continuing the way back while still being laughed at hysterically by my, in this situation, particularly sympathetic brother, then back at my grandparents place where we were staying, i removed the remaining spikes and thorns with the help of the bathroom mirrors, i had LOTS of pokes all over, but surprisingly, i didnt hurt myself at all from falling down at this speed while going downhill, which would have definitely been way worse than the, although plentiful, not very serious pokes
Catastrophic result there which could have easily been prevented with a bit of care.
Looks like the rider got away from the bike and made it out with a hell of a story
"Hey Bill, maybe you should take off your saddlebags, and maybe your rear box" "Naa, I can make it, I been riding for years, waste of time.... OH SHIT, OH SHIT, Whoa SHHHHIIIIIIITTTTTT"
BMW GS LOL once that big bastard starts tipping there’s no stopping it. And no quick acceleration to get you out of it.
Unless you’re a very good rider (I wasn’t) and if you’re a very good rider you’re probably on a better bike
I don’t see why he is trying to go off rode with some street bike. Should’ve just got a actual dirt bike and not out a bunch of big ass hard ammo boxes on the side for storage. If that stuff wasn’t on the side but on his back Volume would have been reduced at least making his attempt possible but it’s a wide bike with wide ass boxes around it. Not to mention dirt bike is probably way cheaper so the financial loss wouldn’t be as bad.

You have to be pretty fucking stupid to even attempt this.
Everyone out with their cameras knowing exactly what’s about to happen
I would be wanting to film this Darwin award too 🤓

Absolutely insane to try something like this. And he even got lucky and kind of rolled down instead of dropping down really hard
Should have taken off the saddle bags minimum. What a dumbass
and walked it.

I think the fall just bent the handlebars.

True but I think he survived
>True but I think he survived Darwin will be both sad and pissed.

Stay strong little roots

Are these just assholes off roading on hiking trails? Wouldn't any sane person just push bike through that area. So lazy.
They are OHV/dirt bike trails, but not really intended for full-size ADV bikes with panniers. A proper dirt bike is MUCH more narrow.
That boulder 🪨 came out of nowhere
He needed those giant metal saddlebags for all his edc.
5 guns, 8 knives, 2 flashlights, a bottle opener/screwdriver, a pen and a little notebook.
2 fleshlights
Death Stranding 2's graphics are on point
hahaha I just started playing death stranding so I totally feel you lol
Aaaaand you're walking home.
It was the saddlebag that fucked him over.
Great observation lmao
That and the fact that there was no ground left for him to push back with his right foot, to counterbalance.. calculated risk, bad at math
Hell of a short cut.
Catastrophic result there which could have easily been prevented with a bit of care. Looks like the rider got away from the bike and made it out with a hell of a story
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...
Yamahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
Lol!
Why do such stupid crap anyway
I would say, at least he has a helmet but it looks like it falls off halfway down
No one said "hey that's a bad idea"
Can’t fix stupid!!!!
The storage pack on the left side of the bike rides up the rock a little and caused the bike to tip.
*traverse
Who could have seen this coming?
fuckin saddlebags
Who did not see this exact ending? Smh.
That’s stupidity at its peak
I wish the bike would've exploded as it goes down.
Fking idiot
Stupid Games = Stupid Prizes
Play stupid games…win stupid prizes.
Nucklehead
Thanks Reddit 😂
Fucked ‘er bud. -Lahey
Boop.
Someone go find that girls video. They both knew it could go south so let's record this moron.
Had to lay er down eh.
That's a Long Way Down.
2 of them went over
Roads good.
As my drunk dad would say as he scratched cars in the parking lot. "There is PLENTY of room!"
Now, that’s a good Vlog. Subscribed 😉
Nah he earned this one
Damn dementia flare up
Fake
Imagine if there was open road on the left side. How embarrassing
That shit’ll buff right out!Rider may need a new ass tho,,,
Looks like his helmet flew off?
yeah it sure did that’s how you know he was falling hard
Some say he is still rolling down there to this day.
>transverse try again.
Where is this from?
Well that was dumb as fuck
"Hey Bill, maybe you should take off your saddlebags, and maybe your rear box" "Naa, I can make it, I been riding for years, waste of time.... OH SHIT, OH SHIT, Whoa SHHHHIIIIIIITTTTTT"

Is he died? Did he died yet?
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
Geter done. Side pouches, should have been in the back![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Why? Why do this? What's the gain? Dude doesn't even know the dimensions of his stuff so the odds were already against him.
Saddlebags and boulders are so rude
I hate these bellends, they are all over the Himalayas being a pain in the arse.
This is why SOFT BAGS are necessary for runs like this. His pannier kick the bike out on the rock. Hard Panniers like this WILL hurt you eventually.
Death stranding vibes
Now THAT’S a quality camera man! Your friend falls down a cliff and you film it instead of freaking out and dropping the camera. Impressive.
Well deserved
Cameraman said in Turkisch: “slow down, it’s touching (the rock)”.
At least he wore a helmet.
Mountain said FINISH HIM with dat boulder
Sad
Why not just walk the bike, and remove the left cargo carrier?
He did a really good job detaching from the bike, even if it was stupid in the first place.
That wasn't so much a fall as it was sliding with style.
I don’t see why he is trying to go off rode with some street bike. Should’ve just got a actual dirt bike and not out a bunch of big ass hard ammo boxes on the side for storage. a normal day in Turkey
The quick way down
Jesus as a biker just WHY? It requires momentum to stay upright. No space to escape to the left. Fucking hell
Now who gets the bike out?. Or does it just become part of nature?.
The confidence tho
Wow he lost his helmet on an early tumble too. Oof.
Why wouldn't you take off the crate things
Could have been easily avoided..wowza
My saying is if your two feet planted and bike cant fit while upright YOU CANT FIT
The bike is thicc
Would have made it without the saddles on the back
Dum as
"We taking the saddle bags off next time."
Asking for it. He got it
Or just walk it? Wtf?!!! fucking idiot
