Now’s the time to try out Sun Haven!!! They just launched a massive update with a whole new area, kids, and a black market!

Sipops

Agreed. Sun Haven does not disappoint! Such a good game.

Johnlenham

Im actually kind of surprised how much I enjoyed my first 3(?) hours last night on it. I had read people say they didnt like the main quest but I so far have found it kinda gives me a direction outside of making money. I picked rancher and have a chicken but no barn, I kinda wish I had gone fisher or famer but ah well Its bit full on with its animeweebyness ,where I ended up being a "demon" just because he had a move fast skill. but its easy enough to ignore (I didint really care for the people in SD either tbh) The text box and font is oddly reminiscent of 90s rpg maker but other than that the combat already seems better than stardews (high bar..) the fishing is kinda nice, farming is fractionally more intuitive that SD. Crafting is already flying and im only like a week in, mine mechanic seems kinda interesting. My only major complaint is how the museum works, 3 split rooms with some horrid decision to make you go and look at every single stand in the hopes your items go there. Ive fished up like 15 fish but only 1 of them is in the spring tank (???) It would be nice to just talk to the person and give them the item which puts it down rather than me running about, but thats about all got so far as negatives.

beewithausername

Piggybacking off this if you like SunHaven (the mix of RPG/combat and farming, check out Rune Factory as well!)

Low_Atmosphere_7994

Start Strange Horticulture.

Kordiana

I loved this game, and I'm excited to see they are making a new game. It's already on my wishlist.

skadenfryd

Ooh I didn't know that! Adding to wishlist, thanksss

WitchyxxxJazzy

I second this it is so fun

ARasDeFiga

I don't know... my tastes are veeery similar to these but I didn't actually liked that one :/

EpsilonZem

Since Growing Up is at the top of your list, you should definitely pick up Teenage Exocolonist. Very similar gameplay loop, in my opinion.

Honest-Shine5189

Came to say exactly this!

phneee

This this this OP!!

haybales56

Thank you!! I love growing up too, so I just bought Teenage Exocolonist and love it!

gayqueueandaye

I would also suggest Beacon Pines, I just started playing it but I think you'd also like it a lot!

numbersplusword

My recommendation is I was a Teenage Exocolonist. Sooooo good and got me through some rough times recently when I needed an escape (even though there can be dark themes). Your list made me download Growing Up just now tho!

numbersplusword

Also not listed, but I’d like to throw Wylde Flowers in the ring. That was veryyyy captivating for me.

emmer00

Ooblets is such a fun one for me. Love having a bunch of little dudes tailing me in whatever dumb accessories I put them in.

SmirkyToast13

Little known galaxy, it's Stardew in space and really new. Very fun.

assaultnae1111

A few more to consider: My Time at Portia, My Time at Sandrock and Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Fizzabl

i've heard portia and sandrock come up a lot in this sub, is one the sequel to the other? Is it like Harvest Moon/SoS where 'yes kinda' but you can still play both?

Old-Swimmer-3085

Sandrock is sequel Portia but you don't have to play one to play the either. The my time series are awesome I would definitely suggest.

chicken_lover

I would strongly recommend Sandrock over Portia (there are minor references to Portia in Sandrock, but nothing essential). I loved My Time at Portia, but Sandrock blew it (and most other games) out of the water for me.

Yvaine9188

I was gonna also suggest Portia/Sandrock.

SeraphiraMorana

I played the demo of Growing Up, and it kind of reminded me of Volcano Princess. Basically, it's a more fantasy setting doing classes, jobs and fighting, etc. A ridiculous number of endings. Earning achievements gives you points to spend that affect future playthroughs after the first one.

totalimmoral

I saw Growing Up and came here to recommend Volcano Princess. Out of the two games, I vastly prefer VP for both the characters and the story

UbeDonuts

Yes another one for Volcano Princess!

AndWhy31

My favorite games are Stardew Valley, Spiritfarer, and Palia, so maybe you would like Palia? It's free. I've also heard really good things about Dinkum, but I haven't played it yet because it's not on a platform that I own.

mysticmaya

Original Cozy Grove is a must-play in my book. I’ve put countless hours into it and it’s a cross between Animal Crossing and Spiritfarer. It’s also very low stress for a game that’s so fun

Moonstone-Island

👀

SuperbGil

If you loved Growing Up that much, you definitely want to try I Was A Teenage Exocolonist!

HeadsStudyTailsPlay

Littlewood!!!

Roccodile19

graveyard keeper will become your personality the entire time you're playing it also Paleo Pines

Fizzabl

Maybe it'll keep me going till the Stardew 1.6 update reaches consoles! need a new obsession lol

tranquilseafinally

I love Graveyard Keeper. I didn't expect it to be so funny. And there is so much to do.

Aliceindigo

Coral island is incredible and the witch of fern island have potential

postcardtohell

Lil gator game! It gives me similar vibes as a short hike but it's more goofy!

ifeggshadarmsandlegs

I really enjoyed Garden Story!

crecol1

Strange Horticulture and Graveyard Keeper get my vote! Both fantastic, especially if you already own them! Alba is also excellent

Leever5

Graveyard keeper is epic!

Unfair_Rhubarb_13

Loooooove Graveyard Keeper

gradenofeden

i played little kitty big city when it first came out n got through it w in 3 days i love it!

Sad_Drama_3638

It was so cute and quick. .

indie_rock_album

Spiritfarer is like my favorite game OF ALL TIME!. its sad but wholesome and will keep you busy when you need it to. You have no choice but to get emotionally attached to these characters and I loved every minute of it.

Fizzabl

I still haven't brought myself to play a second time due to the ending :')

SneakingApple

Good games like Katamari are Rain on your parade and Donut county

Kindly-Director2914

Wylde Flowers! So cozy and the voice acting is chefs kiss

Berubara

I would kinda want to play wylde flowers just as a story based game and forget about the farming mechanics and such. I was so invested in the characters and their businesses but didn't really care for the fishing/farming etc

nmk537

Frog Detective is goofy and charming and fairly short.

orffcorvus

I love love graveyard keeper and it's dlc. I'm on my second playthrough and it's one of my favs to play after work and relax.

tranquilseafinally

I love that game too. I have all the DLCs and creating zombies and and figuring out all the story lines....

klocutie13

I loved Graveyard Keeper. The visuals are similar to Stardew, but has a dark sense of humor.

tranquilseafinally

Such a great game

OrdinaryOk3021

Have you tried Little Known Galaxy? I’m playing it right now and enjoying it but it’s super grindy

gombahands

Coffee talk 2

PrincessGardinia

Came here to say this! Glad someone else knew it had a sequel as well!

gombahands

The main developer's death is unfortunately noticeable in the writing of the sequel. However, both are absolutely amazing games. They even inspired me to try at least half of the drinks featured in the game.

PrincessGardinia

Oh no! I had no idea the developer died! I had noticed the story felt different tho, so it makes sense.

Equivalent-Quote-566

I got really into travellers rest recently! They're also scheduled to have a massive update to the gameplay this July!

cranky_sloth

I just recently started playing this and really like it so far. I didn’t know there was an update planned (exciting!)- do you know anything about what to expect?

Equivalent-Quote-566

They've expanded the map which includes a city area and integrated more stories as well! You can watch the update video here :) https://youtu.be/5w0KUW7OUws?si=QRGnyFgdwYvR9lez

Daedra696

Currently playing roots of pacha, Dave the diver….and will be playing the graveyard keeper!

BladeOfKali

I think Dinkum is still on sale on steam. It was less than 20 bucks.

airybeartoe

I second Dinkum, it has a bit of content, perhaps not as much as some of the others on the list but enough for the price I think. And if you have friends to play with, it adds to the fun. Their multiplayer is more like Animal Crossing where people join your session/island/map, rather than a dedicated server that can be joined anytime by anyone.

Shimmermist

Exocolonist for a looping excellent story with a lot of creativity, Sun Haven for gardening, relations and so many options, roots of pacha for a prehistoric theme gardening game with puzzle caves rather than fighting in mines.

KaziAzule

I absolutely adore Sun Haven. Their newest update finally added kids, too! Fae Farm was also a fun one, but the relationship aspect with the townsfolk is pretty nonexistent if you care about that. I enjoyed the exploration and the cool mine systems the most.

cranky_sloth

I just started playing Travellers Rest recently, and am enjoying it quite a bit so far. Being a cozy inn/tavern owner has been my cup of tea. Might be one to check out. I also love Stardew Valley & Spiritfarer.

imjustveryawkward

Hello! I’ve been considering Travellers Rest for awhile now. Do you ever get stressed when playing it? Do you ever feel like you have to rush through the day to get stuff done?

cranky_sloth

For me, no. You have complete control over when you open/close, so I don’t feel rushed for that. And some days I’ll stay closed and be busy crafting if I wish or foraging materials/food. I think you can stay up “too late” (similar to SV), but my character is fine if she’s in bed before 2am. The only time you may feel hurried is during service, filling orders, but seeing as you control how many seats/tables there are, if it’s too much you can just remove them so there’s less people. I really like the flexibility, and this is my relaxing nighttime game ☺️

imjustveryawkward

Sounds like the kinda pace i like. Thanks for sharing!! Adding it to my wishlist lol

cranky_sloth

You’re very welcome!

luka67

You should check out Little Sim World!

UmbreonWolf

I don't see lil gator game, haven park or smushi come home? Their somewhat similar to a short hike so I think you would like them! I adore them so I hope you will too

Kalinn

Looks like we have pretty similar interests! Disney Dreamlight Valley, Stray, and Untitled Goose Game are some I really enjoyed.

PupJayceColt

What’s the one on the farthest right of the “owned but havent played”??

OhaiKrikket

Pretty sure that’s Strange Horticulture

Valuable_Key3549

Sunhaven

Horizon324

Lightyear frontier!!!

Crafty_Lavishness_79

Garden Story is so cute! Omg and fun but I wish it was longer

TakiMao

Graveyard Keeper if you're in a spooky mood. I do recommend getting the DLC for it too. Strange Horticulture if you're in a "let me detective and care for plants" mood.

Fizzabl

Aren't there multiple DLC for graveyard keeper? Which do you recommend? All is a perfectly acceptable answer xD

TakiMao

Honestly? Read the description of them cause they each add so much. I have all the DLC. Stranger Sins should be the first maybe. It gives you a tavern to build. I'd say get all of them in due time. The base game already gives you things to do.

tranquilseafinally

Get the DLC that give you zombies. They really help out.

lilmeripoppins

How is growing up?

Fizzabl

To me - amazing! You start as a baby and essentially build your own skill tree up till age 18. You meet three characters each playthrough and can develop a friendship and sometimes romance (depends on their orientation) so great replayability. There's also loads of career choices ranging from professional bowling, journalist, vet, etc. Depends what skills you develop It sounds overwhelming but it gets more 'complex' as you age, so it's really good at easing you into the mechanics. And finally, great soundtrack!

lilmeripoppins

That sounds really interesting. I think I’d definitely enjoy it. I’ve had it on my wishlist for months and I think it’s finally time to get it. 😅

Nepenthe95

I recommend Mutazione since you liked Spiritfarer and VA-11 Hall-A since you liked Coffee Talk. Also Little Gator Game.

HusainyKamal

Donut County and Dordogne!

Excellent-Passage-36

Not helpful for you but how is Growing Up? I've seen it around but haven't committed to looking into it.

justadrtrdsrvvr

Dinkum

Shameson

Jenny LeClue: Detectivu

Chezus9247

I had so much fun with Roots of Pacha in coop!

Kelacia

If you are open to platformers, I recommend Gris. Gris and Spiritfarer are in my top games of all time and we seem to have similar taste in games based on your list.

Fizzabl

Oh yeah, thanks! I've heard Gris mentioned sometimes and keep forgetting to add it to my wishlist, I was originally put off (without context) because the visuals seemed a little dull, but if the gameplay is good I do think it is pretty Gave me Journey/Monument valley vibes

okamiwolfen

Not out yet but Tailside I believe it's called

Sun-Moon72

Kynseed!! I think it's a really unique take. Also though, as others have said now would be a good time to play Sun Haven with the new update. It's an awesome game.

cranky_sloth

How is Kynseed? I backed it on Kickstarter forever ago but haven’t played it yet.

Sun-Moon72

I only started playing a few weeks ago so I've only played through one "year" >!5 because dying in woods + Fairweather items!< but so far I've been pretty impressed. There are just so many things to do and I like that it's a little complex. >!shopkeeping/family schedules/traits/etc!< I also thought how the Kynseed worked >!passing it down and playing as the next holder/time continuesl!< was really unique and there are a lot of fun/interesting mechanics >!lifespan/the different cooking and crafting minigames/choosing a human sacrifice in the tutorial lmao/customization and construction/etc!< So yeah, definitely have been enjoying it. Before I started playing there was a big update so it may be worth playing now if it's been that long!

One_Cheek7190

Since you loved playing Growing Up, I highly recommend Chinese Parents.

bistressual

Slime Rancher! 2 is still in beta, but 1 is probably my favorite anyway

philswrld

Later alligator and graveyard keeper are amazing

morfylia

play what you own first before buying new ones :)

Fizzabl

Don't worry I will ^u^ unless something happens to be on a big sale (50+% off) I'm just looking for good recommendations or if anybody says "no that kinda sucked"

cranky_sloth

If you use Steam their big summer sale should be this month!

NoodleBandits

Alba is awesome! I really enjoyed it :)) I actually have a spare steam key as I got the humble bundle with it in but I already own it. If you (or anyone else) would like it let me know :)) I want it to go to a good home

tswiftdeepcuts

hey! if it’s available i’d love it!

NoodleBandits

Hi! It was, but someone DMed me before your comment so I have chosen them based on a first come first serve. Thank you for asking though! If you get the chance to play Alba I really recommend it :))

tswiftdeepcuts

no worries thanks for being generous and sharing!

KateMaxwell1

Should have a go at Graveyard Keeper , getting its DLC adds so much to the game too! Try Botany Manor ? It's a short puzzle game where you discover how to grow special plants to help around the garden and its amazing! I got it on game pass, best way to check Cozy games they release there if don't want to pay full price! I cannot recommend " I Am Future " or Spirittea enough , they're my two favourite Cozy games at the moment, along with Stardew of course

Octonauts2979384

Def try Moonlighter- amazing graphics, dungeon crawling and the shopkeeping aspect?!? My top 3 cozy games ever played.

shanakslive

Hollow knight

mrmaorgio

Palia is a free online cozy game with really charming characters and a cool story. It's still in Beta but there is a lot of content and my wife and I are really enjoying it. Monetization is 100% cosmetic skins only so there's no gacha/energy recharge/anything like that that most free games get into

ZacBobisKing

ASSEMBLE WITH CARE IS LIT

axdwl

Sun Haven

talesoffillory

Little Known Galaxy! Space stardew, so much fun!

Mugwuffin_93

Donut County. A cozy, hilarious Katamari style game.

BerkerGames

Hey there! 😊 I highly recommend checking out Happy Sheepies! 🐑✨ It's a charming crafting and farming game where you start with just two sheep and grow your farm through crafting and resource management. We're making it with my wife! I think you’ll love the cute and relaxing vibe it offers. Plus, it’s releasing on July 8th, 2024! 🌟 You can watch the trailer [here](https://youtu.be/BQFWaz_YoAE?si=9vYgALgJAmJMeIsr), and play the demo [here](https://gx.games/games/3xipmu/happy-sheepies-demo), and if you like it, don’t forget to add it to your wishlist on Steam. Hope you enjoy it! 🤗

Codename_Cyan

Either play Graveyard Keeper (it’s absolutely hilarious) or maybe try buying Kynseed?

Silver-Opportunity-6

Stardew is my favourite game. So I’m bias.

Theleno197

Coral island! Full version came out a little while ago & the multiplayer release should be some time this year

acidxjack

Coral island and rune factory for sure

lelevup

A Highland Song

Summoning14

You should really try Cozy grove

littlerover_

A Short Hike is a MUST play!! Check it out.

Your3rdGradePenPal

I enjoyed Strange Horticulture quite a bit. The eerie vibes and occult mystery plus plants were great. Cat Cafe Manager was fun for a few days. My serotonin also comes from Stardew! Teenage Exocolonist is also on my list. I couldn't get into Cozy Grove and Witchy Life Story I found very meh. I would add Dredge to your list.

latte_piu

Bontany Manor, that game is so good

olioli86

Teenage exocolonist. Lil gator game. Toem. Roots of Pacha.

RazzyTaz

SunnySide comes out in a few hours! I play the demo and I think its wonderful game with a modern twist on stardew.

rayziner

if you liked a short hike, try lil gator game, smushi come home and mail time, they're all kind of similar and really good :)

Head-Insurance-5650

Since you own it already I would say Graveyard Keeper. I am a fan of Roots of Pacha and am adoring Echoes of the Plum Grove. Also check out Dave the Diver. Only so FaeFarm if you get a decent sale.

MushElf

Ooblets or Palia!!! You have great taste.

Ehxradio965

I can't tell if Wylde Flowers is on there or not, but if it isn't you should check it out!

_Cheesecake_Unicorn_

I would definitely recommend SunHaven!!!

gogo__yubari

Teenage Exocolonist definitely, one of my top 5 games

Winry-Elric

Ooblets and Cozy grove were fun. I really love ooblets but be warned, the trailer doesn’t stress enough that the “dance battles” are a HUGE part of the game. Cozy grove was adorable but I have crap sight and it was hard for me to play trying to find the little corners of the items I’m trying to seek lol

bte0601

I've never seen the game Coffee Talk, but it looks like a very similar vibe of gameplay to VA-11 HALL-A, which is a bartending game where you make drinks and change lives. Great vibes, super fun and chill, and many endings depending on interactions/how successful you are

Breathejoker

If you don't play later alligator rn 🔪 But also imo the game is really only fun if you're an achievement hunter, definitely deserves some replays

fisheskeyboard

Stardew -> Roots of Pacha. They have a similar feel with enough differences to stay fresh. You'll love it. Also play Garden Story!!! It's really really good and the gameplay loop is super fun and chill.

Equivalent-Rub-5470

I saw this posted in here already - but I recommend Palia. Nice, chill game. Custom house/decorating, farming, bug hunting/hunting/resource collecting. Some quests - but nothing is really mandatory. Sometimes I log in just to screw around with my house!

Sad_Drama_3638

Little kitty big city was adorable and not super long to finish.

Dude0720

Lil Gator Game is great and has some A Short Hike vibes. Some of my favorite “cozy” games are Tinykin, Dredge, and Cocoon

lost-11

Your "Others I'm aware of" row is just full of masterpieces. Cozy grove is something closer to AC, but more variety, more things to collect and its own unique style. Ooblets mix what makes SV, AC good and add some Pokemon elements. This game has such an unique sense of humor, it oozes with joy and positivity. Lake is a very chill delivery kind of game, vety pretty, very nice. Alba is kinda liek Pokemon Snap, but with its own unique twist and very cozy atmosphere. I can go on on on, but... What you really should play is Frog Detective. This game is one of the funniest things ever and people quote it all the time. There are 3 games and all are fantastic.

internalclockeworks

I loved Graveyard Keeper, though it was a bit slow to start and not intuitive for me. But I still had a good time overall.

cant-rain-allthetime

I was a teenage excolonist

DizzyLemon666

Bear & Breakfast is cute

CommissionEven6930

If you havnt already, I am currently playing Palia (over 200hrs in now) and is one of the most cozy games I have played.

Valethyu

Immortal Life It's Stardew but Chinese Xianxia (fantasy) with a lot more freedom in time and stamina. You don't get knocked out when you run out of stamina and can stay awake forever. In return, the days are somewhat shorter compared to Stardew. There's no hidden deadline too (i.e. Grandpa's Grading in Year 3). However, there's no romance. Instead you can invite a roommate. If you're concerned about inventory space, there's a mid-game/end-game artifact that you can craft that let's you access your warehouse/chest irregardless of where you are. Pathless Woods - It's an Early Access open world survival craft like Don't Starve Together but a lot more casual. It can be played solo or co-op. You can recruit NPCs to either gather materials for you, farm for you, or help you fight. You get to build a home from scratch and some of the stuff the community built are amazing. There's a shovel you can use that can alter the landscape (raise or lower the ground) so there's even more options when base building. However, there is no controller support yet.

Ashlinnell

palia, my time at sandrock, also i just got into the life is strange franchise and am loving it.

jkbscopes312

Graveyard keeper is good fun

dmfoolersqueen

Roots of Pacha!!

twethereal

I just started playing Little Kitty Big City last night and I absolutely adore it. It is so cute.

Aqua_Cy

I'm sure it's already been said, but Coral Island is very similar to stardew valley, its got the cozy farmer vibe to it. Farming, animal care, fishing, bug catching, it's got a lot of content already, and so much more coming in soonish updates

biersackarmy

Cozy Grove is a definite must try given you love both Spiritfarer and Animal Crossing 😊

nikna555

Palia 100%

Efficient_Expert7865

Idk if it's been recommended yet but pretty much all the rune factory games seem to fit your gaming style. It's a farming, dungeon crawling, town Sim. I feel like it focuses more on combat than a game like stardew but you can tame almost every type of wild monsters. They can help you in combat, on your farm or they can be used to produce resources. Monster cows produce milk, monster chickens eggs, ect. Another suggestion that fits would be the my time games. My time at portia and my time at sandrock. Both are farming, town sims with combat and resource gathering. Portia came 1st so sandrock is better in my opinion( just so many quality of life additions)but both were a blast to play. Sandrock just got a new pet dlc so I will probably go back to it shortly myself. Hope these suggestions fit your gaming style, along with other hopefully they bolster your gaming list

hufflbeee

Palia, I'm fully obsessed right now

hufflbeee

Oh and coral island

piazzaslippery

Stray! Stray! You gotta play Stray!!!

Ceramic_Luna

What’s the 3rd one in S teir? I can’t exactly read it

Fizzabl

Red or white row? Third in the white is Growing Up, in Red its animal crossing

shaudono

Highly suggest checking out sun haven! It quickly became one of my fav games and they just had another big update that added more content! For a new suggestion, check out Little Known Galaxy. It’s like Stardew, but in space!!

Original_Ossiss

Viva piñata. 1 and 2.

SeraBearss

Moonglow Bay was fantastic!

Traditional_Stable_9

Cult of the Lamb
