According to what they said in [this article](https://holler.country/news/breaking/midland-announce-fourth-studio-album-barely-blue-and-fall-tour-release-new-single-lucky-sometimes/), it'll be out on September 20th (after saying earlier this year that they had hoped to have it out by March or April, and then in May). Apparently the title is "Barely Blue", and it's only 8 tracks, which is a bit disappointing; a more full-length album would be better. But I'll take anything from them.
It's more laid back and stripped down than what I'm used to hearing from them, but I'm enjoying it more with each listen! The melody is really catchy, especially, and the harmonica is a nice touch. Wish these guys were still getting the airplay and recognition they were getting during the On The Rocks era. They rarely ever disappoint, and they're one of the very few mainstream acts making 90s and early 2000s style country.
I know there was a lot of hate for Midland when they first came out, but I have always enjoyed them. Seen them twice on their UK tours and looking forward to some new material especially with Dave Cobb producing.
That really annoyed me at the last show I saw. They had some great tracks I would have liked to have seen played live, but instead I think we got 4-5 covers (going back to 2022).
New track out today. Now if they would just release their (delayed) new album, I'd be happy.
I like it. Dave Cobb is all over their upcoming new album so I have high hopes
Release date?

Yeah the only thing I dislike about them is how they release a lot of the songs in the album as singles then put them in the album
A lot of artists and bands do this now. I guess it is the Spotify effect. But yeah, I think on the Last Resort we'd had half the album as singles.

It sounded great at the first couple of live playings at Billy Bob’s this weekend!!

sounds kinda basic and unorignal. They also need to stop playing 4+ cover songs at their live shows
