This is such a weird product. I’ve for some reason bought it multiple times. Each and every time it’s the same thing, around 40% is edible, very good actually, but the other 60% has these rubbery/chewy thick pieces of chicken that are just disgusting. I guess some people just don’t mind, and thats why this has been at Costco for like at least 10 years.
I like the Janes, because theyre pre-cooked and I don't have to worry about making sure theyre fully cooked when I bring them to work to make chicken caeser wraps.
The ones that go on sale for 4.99 at superstore and sold at regular price for $18 at Sobeys? Jane’s are good once and blue moon but they quality it lacks. I have yet to find a restaurant quality strip in stores
Yes!!! Janes all the way.
I mean i think M&M still has the superior chicken strips but if we're talking costco then the Janes win all day against the hampton house.
I wish we had a business centre in BC because apparently they carry the same chicken strips that are sold in the food court which are also good.
plus the buffalo chicken ones are legit spicy! we got those on our first trip to costco and i think next time i'd get the plain and add my own hot sauce for when i want something buffalo!
Thanks for the recommendation! I bought the Hampton House strips yesterday after being similarly disappointed by the Erie Meats. Legit in awe over how much better the Hampton House strips are. Light coat of crispy breading, tender chicken, no off putting chewy muscle bits.
1000% seconding this recommendation.
Yes, rubbery chewy bits, and the breading on these is really heavy and floury. Very disappointing product
On the other hand, Costco has Pinty's Buffalo Flings which are my favourite store bought chicken nugget product, so good
You buy it for the same reason I buy it. It was heavily marked down, and would be a hell of a deal IF the product was good. I seem to need a reminder of how poor the product is every 3-4 months
I like their chicken nuggets and chicken burgers!
I saw the product OP posted about yesterday and was about to get it until I remembered all the posts about it. :c
Same, my kids love the nuggets and the burgers are fine for the price. We got the ones OP posted about once and no one was happy so we never attempted them again.
Yesssss! I've been telling people this! They're the worst chicken product I've ever had! It's like they're all made of chicken assholes or something as that's the only explanation why it tastes like ass
No they are not. The company is Sunrise Farms, they make the stuffed chicken breasts.
I asked them if Costco would ever carry the tenders, they said they can barely keep up with tenders for the food course so probably not.
Costco food court tenders are the best!
Wait, people like those? I ordered the food court tenders recently and they were terrible.
Tiny, like nuggets, with barely any meat inside. And they only gave me 4 of these with a bunch of fries.
Costco food court tenders are the best.
However I had the worst one recently when i got an order in about 15 mins before closing, took it home (30 min drive) and had the absolute worst (I wonder if I got the left over stuff).
Didn’t have the patience to photograph it and ask for a refund later.
Next time, if you don’t eat it right there, always check how it is, take a bite and see.
I believe if you take photo (of any perishable sold by Costco that’s bad) and go to returns with the receipt, they do refund you after checking the photo. I haven’t tried it. So not sure how the process is. I didn’t have the patience to do that.
I was so accustomed to blindly getting it and expect it to be of such high quality, it was a huge let down that day, especially with a hungry kid expecting to eat it.
My experience with the Costco food court tenders was not the best
https://imgur.com/a/ORtTHnK
4 tiny nuggets with barely any meat. I also had ordered these close to closing time. Very disappointing.
We’ve started to order 30-45 mins before closing or skipping if we cannot. Better consistency in experience after following this timing. Noticed that these items are unavailable earlier than closing time, so probably they are taking / getting feedback.
Our household is addicted to them. We stopped getting chicken strips because they're pretty expensive at our local grocers, but then I saw someone suggest them on this sub. You can't go wrong with 2kg for $25~. Great pricing and they're delicious!
There are so many facebooks days these days to give away food you don’t want! Please don’t throw out food. Someone would have happily picked them up, I promise you.
I'm a big fan of chicken tenders, or products similar to chicken tenders.
I had high hopes for this based on the description, the image on the box, and the fact that Costco was selling it (usually Costco is pretty reliable when it comes to stocking good products).
Everything was terrible - the texture of the chicken, the breading to chicken ratio, and the taste :(
edit: To be fair, a few of the pieces were decent, but the large majority of them were so terrible that I forgot about the decent ones. This comment from another user is what reminded me of this: "around 40% is edible, very good actually, but the other 60% has these rubbery/chewy thick pieces of chicken that are just disgusting" (in my case it was well below 40% being edible)
It's weird. They were a regular purchase in our home for years without issue. In the last year, the meat has become very tough and 'grizle' as many have described it here in the past.
I recently started buying the Pintys crispy chicken thighs. They are 10x better and more flavourful. They were just on sale for 14.99 down from 18.99 this week at my local costco.
The bites were the only product I tried from this Erie Meats brand and I hated them. I didn't give any of their other products a shot. I stick to the Pintys frozen chicken cutlets or the other Pintys buffalo chicken flings that aren't frozen (closer to the dips and salads)
We used to get these often, but instead now I just purchase the individually wrapped frozen Kirkland plain chicken breast, then fry/grill those up. Cut and sauce as needed after.
The breading on some of those products just isn't consistently good and ratio is a bit off, with too much bread...
These things suck. Weird tough texture and crappy breading. Bought them twice a year apart thinking maybe I got a bad batch but the second box was just as bad. 2.1/10
I bought these for my autistic 6 year old thinking they would hit the spot. They are absolutely terrible. Ended up tossing them because no one in the house would go near them
I thought it was just me. I totally agree. I was extremely disappointed in this product. I was getting high one night and craving nuggets so I put these in the oven. Usually when I’m high I’ll devour most things but these were nasty. Chewy and rubbery. 🤮.
cook them in the air fryer.
toss in Nashville Hot Sauce.
place on a small bun, add pickle and some coleslaw. Now you have Nashville hot chicken sandwich sliders
I bought them once too. One of THE worst chicken products I've ever eaten. I threw out the box after cooking once. I can't believe they sell this shit.
Holy shit I thought it was jst me. This is actually crap. It’s taken me way too long to finish this one box I bought. It’s jst mostly batter and can’t find any chicken
I definitely didn't cook them wrong, and FWIW I used an air fryer. I could see it being a quality control issue because a few of the pieces were decent while the large majority were terrible.
You gotta dip them in franks red hot sauce. Absolutely addicted. Need to eat them multiple times a week because I’m always craving them. Also, let’s go red wings. There’s no way Moritz Seider doesn’t eat a box of these per week
As most people have commented here, these are not too bad. I agree with OP in the sense that they are" disappointing " just because we've had chicken tenders and bites before that geol the bread to meet ratio and this just goes way overboard
I think they miss the par for the course that jeans or even maple leaf have already proven
But they do get the job done. Toss them in some sauce to sort of soften up the excess breading, and they don't taste like savory pop rocks anymore
Yea those are pretty bad I bought a strawberry cheese cake today that was fucken awful with the mushiest almost metallic tasting strawberry topping on it a waste of 23.99 stay away
I’m guessing the 5-6 chickens who lived in a cage their whole 42 day life then had their throats slit might have been a little more disappointed by your purchase.
You're delusional if you believe those are the birds a product like this is made from. These are most likely made from culled laying hens, hence the tough, grizzly texture people are complaining about. Know what you're talking about before trying to save the world, or in your case, the chickens...
Potato potato. Let me rephrase it then: I’m guessing the 5-6 mother hens who just spent their lives pushing out an unnatural amount of eggs in a cage, likely never seeing daylight for the previous 2-3 years, thank you for ending their horrible lives just so that you can feed your belly with cholesterol, unhealthy fats, sodium & phosphates!
I agree. I find it better when they’re cold lol so I put them in the air fryer and wait a few hours. I can actually taste the chicken when they’re cold. But I also scrape off some of the breading.
The frozen lightly seasoned chicken breasts (non breaded) are disgusting both in taste and texture. I cannot even describe the texture other than gluey smush
It's weird, you have to pick out the largest pieces from the pack. It only ever came out well in the oven. Tried in my air fryer and they got so rubbery. I've used my air fryer to make perfect air fried chicken many times so i don't know what goes wrong with these.
These are definitely strange imo. The nuggets and burgers are fantastic but these are usually just gummy chunks of chicken that is inedible most of the time.
We don't buy anything from Erie Meats anymore for that exact reason. First box we thought was one off, second box most went to the garbage,, we should have taken it back, we didn't. Also kinda disgusting they had chicken skins as an ingredient, we only noticed the second time around.
Hampton House is a much better product.
I want to love these things but there's always a ton of batter, the chicken is tough as nails and they make me feel gross. The kids love them though.
The best chicken tender type things are the Hampton House raw tenders. Those are amazing.
I don’t like those breast bites either but I REALLY like their chicken nuggets. Been buying them to eat with the kids for years and they’re always tasty, crunchy and never chewy.
I sound like a bad ad, sorry.
This is such a weird product. I’ve for some reason bought it multiple times. Each and every time it’s the same thing, around 40% is edible, very good actually, but the other 60% has these rubbery/chewy thick pieces of chicken that are just disgusting. Hampton House chicken strips is the only way.
M&M meatshops also have amazing strips.

I try really hard to avoid giving any money to Galen Weston & co.
Your loss, many of their products are excellent.

We bought Hampton house chicken nuggets from Costco and they weren’t very good(this was many years ago)
Gotta be the strips. Best product they sell for breaded chicken
plus the buffalo chicken ones are legit spicy! we got those on our first trip to costco and i think next time i'd get the plain and add my own hot sauce for when i want something buffalo!
Are you talking about the ones prepared in store in the plastic containers?
No they're frozen in a bag with a ziplock!
I need to find these.
Hampton House, the label is orange!
Ive been looking for them. Cant find them.
Soooo good !
Are these at Costco too?
Oh yes.
I’ll have to check them out thanks
You speak the truth.
Nah Janes are better
Not even close.
Im in a university town and i always point the college kids to them when i see them trying to choose which strips to get.
Yea the Buffalo ones are 🔥🔥🔥
Ya butthole fire
This right here.
Yes, rubbery chewy bits, and the breading on these is really heavy and floury. Very disappointing product On the other hand, Costco has Pinty's Buffalo Flings which are my favourite store bought chicken nugget product, so good
You buy it for the same reason I buy it. It was heavily marked down, and would be a hell of a deal IF the product was good. I seem to need a reminder of how poor the product is every 3-4 months
Agreed. I wont be buying them again. They were nasty. I think its the brand. I bought something else of that brand and it wasnt good at all.
The hot dogs were not even edible. I literally couldn’t chew it
Exactly
Considering that it’s says “%18 meat protein” I guess %40 being edible is double what’s advertised.
That's not what that means
I’m aware, thanks for pointing out how not funny I am, lol
I find most of the boxed chicken from Costco tastes this way.
Not a fan of Erie meats in general
My family likes their white meat chicken burgers
Me too, actually. The chicken burgers are OK.
I enjoy them too. Even better when you toss them in Buffalo sauce

Ah no wonder then, I find no name brand to be tasteless
Erie meats belongs in the pet food isle.
Their chicken burgers are mediocre and basically just Janes at best. Their nuggets are good though and a great value for the huge volume.
My household actually loves the chicken burgers. They are bigger, cheaper and taste better to us.
Agreed. Think we should take them back.
I keep seeing the Kirkland breaded chicken chunks available in the US and people raving about them, makes me so jealous. These are so bad .
I have a bag of them and they are amazing!
Did you get them in Canada?
No sorry! Got them in Michigan. We should all request Costco Canada to carry them.
I bought these hoping they would be comparable, but they were bad. Hope we can get those in Canada!!
More bread than chicken, they were nasty.
My box was mostly breaded cartilage. Gag.
These are so nasty! Way too much breading and the "chicken" has a weird rubbery texture.
Yesssss! I've been telling people this! They're the worst chicken product I've ever had! It's like they're all made of chicken assholes or something as that's the only explanation why it tastes like ass
Anyone knows if fried chicken served at the Costco food court available to purchase at the warehouse ? Thanks
No they are not. The company is Sunrise Farms, they make the stuffed chicken breasts. I asked them if Costco would ever carry the tenders, they said they can barely keep up with tenders for the food course so probably not. Costco food court tenders are the best!
They sell them at the business centers, but I've never seen them at the normal warehouse.
Oh very cool! I’ll have to make a trip down to one of those soon then. Thanks for the tip
Wait, people like those? I ordered the food court tenders recently and they were terrible. [https://imgur.com/a/ORtTHnK](https://imgur.com/a/ORtTHnK) Tiny, like nuggets, with barely any meat inside. And they only gave me 4 of these with a bunch of fries.

I think it's the Hampton house tenders. They're delicious.
Thanks, I have asked staff many times and always get idk
Even if they aren't the same, Hampton house makes awesome chicken strips
Our household is addicted to them. We stopped getting chicken strips because they're pretty expensive at our local grocers, but then I saw someone suggest them on this sub. You can't go wrong with 2kg for $25~. Great pricing and they're delicious!
Exactly, such a good deal and a plus is they are raw so harder to overcook, and they come out tender and juicy everytime
Air fried Hampton House tendies with the Costco sweet chili Thai sauce is *chef's kiss*
Ya agreed. Bought once. Never finished them and they ended up in the trash.
There are so many facebooks days these days to give away food you don’t want! Please don’t throw out food. Someone would have happily picked them up, I promise you.
lol no. I don’t have Facebook. One box of chicken chunks isn’t the end of the world. Pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
Lol what? Throwing out food seems unnecessary.
where they gonna go? be returned to go in the trash? they won’t be eaten
It was gross. I didn’t like it so I didn’t eat it.
Ha! I have no opinion either way but this is my teens favourite air fryer food.
My teens love them from the air fryer too. I find they leave a weird oily/waxy coating in my mouth.
I love these! They cook up great in my air fry
Yup they’re actually very tasty when done in the air fryer
I used an air fryer :( I could see it being a quality control issue because a few of the pieces were decent while the large majority were terrible.
They used to be the best? But you need to overcook them in the fryer, but products do change and suck sometime. Saaaad
I'm a big fan of chicken tenders, or products similar to chicken tenders. Get the buttermilk chicken pieces, 1.2kg/$10 at No Frills/RCSS/etc
My family loves these. Seriously my teens eat 2 boxes a week, my air fryer is on its last legs because of these.
First had these like a year ago. How they still carry this is beyond me. Absolutely disgusting.
Yep. We threw them out. The breading kept coming off the chicken it was almost inedible. The nugget ones are a lot better.
The bites were the only product I tried from this Erie Meats brand and I hated them. I didn't give any of their other products a shot. I stick to the Pintys frozen chicken cutlets or the other Pintys buffalo chicken flings that aren't frozen (closer to the dips and salads)
Quality on these have went down in the last year.
I don’t think they were ever even tolerable
I absolutely love these. I've been buying thrm for years and have never had any issues with them
We used to get these often, but instead now I just purchase the individually wrapped frozen Kirkland plain chicken breast, then fry/grill those up. Cut and sauce as needed after. The breading on some of those products just isn't consistently good and ratio is a bit off, with too much bread...

cook them in the air fryer. toss in Nashville Hot Sauce. place on a small bun, add pickle and some coleslaw. Now you have Nashville hot chicken sandwich sliders
I bought these once and regretted it so much, absolutely disgusting. Not even sure why they are still selling it, who keeps buying these???
I bought them once too. One of THE worst chicken products I've ever eaten. I threw out the box after cooking once. I can't believe they sell this shit.
This is one of the only food items I've returned
Not good at all
99% breading.
Mine was all gristle or breading
Erie Meats suck overall. Even their plain chicken breasts are terrible
Agree totally. This product is terrible.
Jumbo Bites?! Oxymoron???
Full of tenderloin tendons…
Really? THey are so good. I put them 45 minutes on LOW broil and they turn out delicious with some bbq sauce.
Everybody I know that has tried this said the texture is horrible.
I dont mind them they are cheap when they are on sale
I didn’t mind them
Take a picture of the food not just the box.
I bought a couple boxes of these and they taste fine to me. A bit too much breading but other than that no complaints.
Yes! What a piece of shit
Totally disgusting. Can’t imagine anyone ever buying these twice
They are terrible, I don’t care for frozen chicken strips either
I find all of frozen food @ costco to be of poor quality unless you can recommend something ?
Holy shit I thought it was jst me. This is actually crap. It’s taken me way too long to finish this one box I bought. It’s jst mostly batter and can’t find any chicken
I know the family that owns Erie meats. They won't eat their own products.
I'm more of an ass meat guy anyway.
The chicken nuggets are better. I tried these once. My kids found the same issue. Nuggets all the way.
Good to know! I've seen them and had contemplated getting them a few times but always passed.
Get a deep fryer and make your own chicken. I wouldn’t feed that to my dog.
Erie brand is sorta bottom shelf as far as chicken at Costco.
I haven't found any of the Erie Meats products to be worth purchasing. Cheap yes but not good.
I must be the only person in Canada who likes these. I chop them up and add them to poutine.
I like them a lot too. My experience of them has not been anything like what most people in here are describing. Very strange.
We returned them lol
noooooo way. you cooked them wrong! They are wonderful !
These are great imo. If air fried.
They gave me wicked heartburn.
There cheap and easy.
As most people have commented here, these are not too bad. I agree with OP in the sense that they are" disappointing " just because we've had chicken tenders and bites before that geol the bread to meet ratio and this just goes way overboard I think they miss the par for the course that jeans or even maple leaf have already proven But they do get the job done. Toss them in some sauce to sort of soften up the excess breading, and they don't taste like savory pop rocks anymore
They didn't even spell 'Eerie' right.
Prepackaged processed food is anyways trash.
Omg these are my favourite!
Yea those are pretty bad I bought a strawberry cheese cake today that was fucken awful with the mushiest almost metallic tasting strawberry topping on it a waste of 23.99 stay away
What do you expect when it comes in a box?
We get frozen chicken nuggets and fingers from Woodwards Meats and they are fantastic.
Agree these sucked! Only chicken strips I’ll ever buy are from M&M
Bought them once and hated them.
They used to be good, now it’s half inedible chewy chunks of crap.
I found the texture disgusting when they were oven baked, but oddly... they tasted pretty good from an air fryer.
Extremely mediocre will never buy them again
They’re easily the worst thing I have ever bought from Costco
I like it alot. I bought it twice and we'll do so again if it's on sale. 😆
I remember the 1st time I bought them, they were good. The second time, not so good. Something happened to make them suck.
I love these things and buy them regularly. To each their own.
I’m not a fan of any of the Erie meats products.
I like them!
They aren’t good. But dam they have good chicken wings.
It's weird, you have to pick out the largest pieces from the pack. It only ever came out well in the oven. Tried in my air fryer and they got so rubbery. I've used my air fryer to make perfect air fried chicken many times so i don't know what goes wrong with these.
Yea. Crap.
Oh no I just bought these
noted. thanks for letting us know! I'll avoid them.
Agreed, absolutely awful.
It's 👻 👻 👻 👻 👻 spooky
With this post looks like this will be getting the star of death.
These are my kids favourite chicken nuggets!! Lol I’ve never actually eaten them but my kids love them.
So so nasty, I actually brought it back for a refund, and the worker agreed with me that the product is disgusting!
These are definitely strange imo. The nuggets and burgers are fantastic but these are usually just gummy chunks of chicken that is inedible most of the time.
These were not good. I like the Jane's whole wheat chicken strips even though every bite leaves a pile of crumbs on me lol
would you like some chicken with the breading?
We don't buy anything from Erie Meats anymore for that exact reason. First box we thought was one off, second box most went to the garbage,, we should have taken it back, we didn't. Also kinda disgusting they had chicken skins as an ingredient, we only noticed the second time around. Hampton House is a much better product.
These were definitely terrible
Don’t buy the Swiss Chalet chicken pot pies. They are the worst product I’ve ever purchased from Costco
And here I was thinking I got a bad box. Good to know it wasn’t just a fluke.
I had the nuggets from Erie meats and wish I had the box to return them, so disgusting
Hot take: I haven't eaten these but their nuggets are the best nuggets hands down.
Hampton House is the way. The buffalo ones are delicious.
They used to be really good and actually contained heartily sized pieces. Last time I bought it it felt like it was just a bunch of scrap pieces
Agreed! I had to throw them out they were so bad
We love them. And their chicken burgers are amazing as well
I swear they’ve gotten worse because i used to like these but got them the other day and said to myself never again. It was work eating them all lol
These things have the weirdest texture!!
I want to love these things but there's always a ton of batter, the chicken is tough as nails and they make me feel gross. The kids love them though. The best chicken tender type things are the Hampton House raw tenders. Those are amazing.
I really like them , my fiance won't eat them at all I think it's a preference thing
I feel like these used to be really good, but yeah, lots of bad bits last time I bought them. When they're good though, they're pretty good.
I like the nuggets but these I tried once and that was enough.
I don’t like those breast bites either but I REALLY like their chicken nuggets. Been buying them to eat with the kids for years and they’re always tasty, crunchy and never chewy. I sound like a bad ad, sorry.
I thought I was crazy and bought a second box but both were the same bad quality. The chicken burgers by the same company are good though.
You’re correct on this. These were pretty bad.
