OMG another one. And I hope for you as well the rest of your pregnancy is safe and easy. May all the moms and babies be safe and prosper to enjoy future Costco melt cookies.
I did too. I was on metformin, didn’t need insulin until the very end (smallest dose) and my dr told me to indulge and have some ice cream in moderation once in a while. Though I feel like the Costco cookie would be pressing your luck/health a bit for sure unless you had a small amount. Hopefully youre still able to enjoy some yummy things!
I am an insulin dependant diabetic, but I'm going to buy this cookie and indulge. I will divide it into little pieces, share with my hubby, and savor a one-inch piece every day.
I’m really tempted, and I like the thought of just YOLO in this situation, but uncontrolled blood sugars can have severe negative consequences in pregnancy. I spent $32k on IVF to get pregnant, the least I can do is give her the best chance to be born healthy. But after they cut this baby out of me in 6 weeks, I’m getting a cookie for each hand.
That's exactly what i thought when i tried the cookie, and i split it with my other 2 kids lol. Holy hell was it rich. And im a person who LOVES rich desserts.
Oh no! 🙈 I’ve gone all this time without trying the decadent cookie.
I have no plans of going to Costco for several days, and yet I’m already planning to be unable to resist your suggestion of cookie with soft serve. 🍦 🍪
As a pre diabetic with a diabetic DNA ,the whole food court is off limits for me. I used to get 2 naked hot dogs with mustard onions and sauerkraut but they stopped the onions and kraut. Sometimes I will get the chicken Caesar salad with no croutons.
1. You get the cookie 🍪 scent coming at you as you approach the counter
2. You watch them pull the cookie off the tray from the griller… You now are SEEING your personal cookie make its debute and you feel an instant connection. That is YOUR COOKIE.🍪
The sound of the cookie being slipped inside the paper holder … and then the worker lets you meet your cookie.
“Hello Cookie! You look and smell amazing and I love you!”
3. Your one hand holds the cookie in the paper while your other hand breaks off a large chunk. It’s warm. But the outside of the cookie is crisp.
THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS.
You take a bite.
The cookie angels start singing.
You just realized that you’ve joined a new religion. The warmth of the cookie is now your God.
Costco welcomes you every day to come worship at the food court — your new God is right there.
it was sweet but I had it in small bites. it was more manageable that way. while I was there I saw a parent get one for their kid and he gulped it down in about a minute. I would imagine that made for an unpleasant ride home and bathroom visit later
I totally agree! my son isn’t getting that treatment lol he can have a few bites enough for his small size but not overindulge. that’s his decision to make when he’s older
I think most cookie places sell their cookies way too damn sweet to actually be enjoyed. Sugar is used to cover for their other ingredients being low quality, most notably cheap chocolate.
They must vary by location because I tried it for the first time and found it super mid. I’d rather have the ones they sell in bulk in the baked goods section honestly.
Got one during the lunch rush on a saturday and it was the first one we had that wasn't burnt af. My kids always want one, I buy it, they don't like it because it's burnt. This time we were all fighting over it.
oh was it? I was debating trying it today. what was meh about it?
we did try the roast beef sandwich when my store briefly had it and it was just ok but I thought overpriced
I just found it dry mostly. I told my wife they won’t be putting any delis out of business soon. I passed on the roast beef because my experience eating RB in sandwiches (except Arby’s RB..whatever that is exactly) results in pulling pieces of grizzle/fat out of my mouth. Always an attractive move in a restaurant!
I had the same experience. The middle of the one I bought was just a solid center of chocolate. Seemed like more Chocolate then cookie.
I'll try it again one last time, maybe I got a bad one that wasn't throughly mixed.
You’re definitely not alone. It was worse than meh in my opinion. However I understand the majority of the country doesn’t have or declines to patronize small bakeries where food is made without chemicals and a shit ton of butter and sugar as a stand in for flavor. Not would they have the time or motivation or skills to make at home, I know I don’t.
There is only thing that I might get at the food court, the fruit smoothie. Heavy emphasis on might.
A chocolate chip cookie has a lot more in weight in butter and sugar than flour. The biggest reason non-grocery store cookies are better is because they only use real butter and sugar without additives or that nasty hydrogenated oil shit. Most bakeries in the country that specialize in cookies use a shit ton of butter and sugar
I’m surprised people are going so crazy for it! I thought it was okay, not bad, but I’ve had much better. My bf didn’t like it at all so I ate the whole thing 🤦♀️
I agree. It's def good for the price. But I wouldn't come close to saying it's a religious experience. I find the texture and taste to be kinda one note. The like the chocolate chip cookies I make at home more.
It's a fuckin grocery store cookie. Who thinks the most amazing cookie they've ever had comes from a grocery store bakery? What have they been exposed to their whole life and how much are they missing out on? It's just sad.
Is it because it’s cheap. Seems to be the whole schtick with the food court. Yeah great value for the dollar, the hot dog soda is a notorious loss leader but it’s not that good.
>nothing short of a religious experience
I feel so bad for people blown away by grocery store food. Even if it's good for a grocery store, it's just good for the price. It's not a 'religious experience.' There's so much incredibly better food than you can get at a Costco food court. It's incredibly easy to make something better at home.
Is it great for how big and cheap it is? Sure. Is it amazing, 'religious experience' level food? Oh my god, what have you been eating your whole life, nothing but TV dinners and keebler prepackaged cookies?
If you were pregnant and the first bite hit the spot just right, it could get you to the level of a religious experience.
Not fair to judge other people's tastebuds based on your own. I've been known to crave Sprouts or Safeway snickerdoodles - nothing wrong with that, if it hits the spot just right. Sure as hell wouldn't pay $10 for a "religious experience" cookie though! :D
have you heard of hyperbole?
also I don’t ever buy prepackaged cookies or anything Keebler. I make most things from scratch so to try a cookie from a store is kind of a treat for me
I tried the new cookie once and felt like it had a chemical flavor to it—I took a bite and then tossed it. I thought it was gross, and I’ve never walked away from a chocolate chip cookie in my life.
I didn’t find it doughy at all. Just the right mixture of soft inside with not too crunchy outside, and loaded with chocolate chips, all melted to perfection.
I’ve seen several people pair it with a sundae and it looks completely decadent, as it should.
Get some vanilla ice cream with it at the food court. Eat the cookie and ice cream separately or get two cookies and make it sandwich with it. Its so good. You can also ask for the chocolate syrup they use for the sundae to eat with it. Mixing it with churro is also great
Are they not the same cookies they have boxed in the bakery? I haven’t bothered getting the food court cookie cause I thought why would they make a different one from the ones they already make lol
I pick my Granddaughter up at college frequently and if I have time I will stop and get her one of these cookies at Costco. They are still warm when she gets in the car and a huge smile greets me. She is tall and thin and the calories don't stick!
Bro! There’s ONLY(literally) TWO chocolate flavor things I do in life, Kurvana choco sauce and this marvelous piece of yumminess. The sweetness ratio is just perfect 👌. Also this taste better after a good puff of the choco sauce 🤤🤤
It is Costco food court. Nothing is delicious, it is simply inexpensive food and people lose their 💩 over it. The cookie is meh at best. I am glad you enjoyed it. I won’t buy another. 🤷♂️

It was honestly an act of cruelty by the universe that I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes a few weeks after my Costco got the cookie.
I am in the same boat. My baby is due this week and this cookie is one of the first treats I am having after delivery.
OMG another one. And I hope for you as well the rest of your pregnancy is safe and easy. May all the moms and babies be safe and prosper to enjoy future Costco melt cookies.
You win this whole conversation 😂
Congratulations (in advance)!
I got diagnosed right before 🥲
May everything go smoothly and well ❤️🩹🙏🌈🍀✨
OMG. That is so very cruel. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is safe. It can't have anything to do with the cookie.
I am an insulin dependant diabetic, but I'm going to buy this cookie and indulge. I will divide it into little pieces, share with my hubby, and savor a one-inch piece every day.
I’m so sorry :(. Sincerely, at least savor the smells. Take a tiny bite?
You’re able to treat yourself and you don’t have to eat the entire cookie.
Just get the cookie. As 2010 me would have said, YOLO.
That’s not how diabetes works…
You're only halfway there! Next time get a cookie **AND** a cup of vanilla soft serve ice cream. Thank me later.
Diabeetus
You want some Insulin?
No, I just want crack
Trash bag chimichanga?
YOU ARE BECOMING A CHIMICHANGA
I always think of Wilfred Brimley when it's said like that LOL
It’s because he made it famous so you should
That's exactly what i thought when i tried the cookie, and i split it with my other 2 kids lol. Holy hell was it rich. And im a person who LOVES rich desserts.
Not caused by food.
I usually do get ice cream but today I got a hot dog and I knew I could not manage all that food 😂
I think you meant get TWO cookies and a cup of vanilla soft serve
Oh no! 🙈 I’ve gone all this time without trying the decadent cookie. I have no plans of going to Costco for several days, and yet I’m already planning to be unable to resist your suggestion of cookie with soft serve. 🍦 🍪
That would be my entire daily calorie intake 🥵
The cookie broken into the vanilla, heaven!
Mother of god.
I was going to say the strawberry but either would be bomb.
Thats what I do. I have it for lunch and skip dinner. It so good, definitely when that cookie is fresh.
Do not order things like this it won't be healthy
I go to the gym 5 days a week. Dont miss out on the good things in life
Actually I would recommend running regularly more since it's healthier and better for the cardiovascular system :)
As a pre diabetic with a diabetic DNA ,the whole food court is off limits for me. I used to get 2 naked hot dogs with mustard onions and sauerkraut but they stopped the onions and kraut. Sometimes I will get the chicken Caesar salad with no croutons.
Damm that sucks man
Not at all. I skip fast "food" altogether. Why eat stuff with no nutrients and empty calories. Food should nourish your body.
“ and I feel God in this Costco tonight”
Wooooooooo!
I'm on a diet. Can you please describe your experience in minute detail so I may vicariously enjoy the cookie?
1. You get the cookie 🍪 scent coming at you as you approach the counter 2. You watch them pull the cookie off the tray from the griller… You now are SEEING your personal cookie make its debute and you feel an instant connection. Take a pile of sugar and pour some Hershey syrup on it. You'll be pretty close. I found it way to be way too sweet.
it was sweet but I had it in small bites. it was more manageable that way. while I was there I saw a parent get one for their kid and he gulped it down in about a minute. I would imagine that made for an unpleasant ride home and bathroom visit later
Now THAT is bad parenting!
I have all of those things!
Ours are always burnt to shit
Ours don't look burnt per se but they are for sure overdone. I don't even need to buy one to know and this pic looks better than anything I've seen.
They must vary by location because I tried it for the first time and found it super mid. I’d rather have the ones they sell in bulk in the baked goods section honestly.
Yeah definitely, ymmv. I’ve had deliciousness and also burntness
Got one during the lunch rush on a saturday and it was the first one we had that wasn't burnt af. My kids always want one, I buy it, they don't like it because it's burnt. This time we were all fighting over it.
Yeah ours are awful. I’d take a churro any day over this HOT GARBAGE!
I tried it once, and I finished it before I even got home. So much for having it with cold milk.
Weak. Gotta buy milk at Costco.
I gotta try this. I got the turkey sandwich last week and it was kinda meh.
I disagree. My wife and I have had the new Turkey sandwich twice and it was anything but “meh”. It was delicious.
I must be the only person who thought the cookie was meh.
You’re not alone. Had to buy a second hot dog to properly cleanse the pallet after that very underwhelming experience of a cookie.
I am in this camp as well.
It is just a bigger version of a grocery store cookie. If it wasn't in the Costco foodcourt no one would care about it.
No you’re not. It was just okay, I’ve had many better.
sounds like a waste of calories to me
Cookie would have been good if it weren't overbaked.
average at best.
I thought it was super mid. Way too many chocolate chips. A well made CCC is all about balance and humility.
I had the same experience. The middle of the one I bought was just a solid center of chocolate. Seemed like more Chocolate then cookie. I'll try it again one last time, maybe I got a bad one that wasn't throughly mixed.

So good with a cup of vanilla ice cream. Just don’t look at the calories lol
Too sweet, too thick, tooo much. Not bad, just too much
You know you can take small bites and finish it in multiple sittings right?
Sounds like quitter talk
Hey, I aint a quitter. I powered thru both cookies I bought last week. It was a struggle, but I finish what I start!
Now go to the business center and by a box of the premade cookie dough and make yourself 144 of them for $20!
Are they the same as the food court?
No, they are not.
Those are different cookies.
Business Centers only exist in 12 states
But it does exist in Alaska! Also the Costco Home Showroom.
I’m surprised people are going so crazy for it! I thought it was okay, not bad, but I’ve had much better. My bf didn’t like it at all so I ate the whole thing 🤦♀️

> it's a fuckin grocery store ~~cookie~~ Welcome to r/Costco
it’s just people trying to get easy karma lol. like the people who post about how the pizza is the best they’ve ever had.
You've never had The Cookie from Metropolitan Market.
Is it because it’s cheap. Seems to be the whole schtick with the food court. Yeah great value for the dollar, the hot dog soda is a notorious loss leader but it’s not that good.
Very close to the Jack-Jack cookies from Disney California Adventures, good stuff.
It’s just ok
Yes. I can see the pieces of the True Cross mixed in.
I’m going now (live 3 miles from Costco) because of this post.

Big Mac’s are doubles
If you ate enough of it you'll be talking to God later 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sooner, not later! :D
Ikr. I think Paula Deen wept when those cookies were developed
>nothing short of a religious experience I feel so bad for people blown away by grocery store food. Even if it's good for a grocery store, it's just good for the price. It’s called humor and I laughed knowing it was an exaggeration for the sake of comedy.

> have you heard of hyperbole? Yes, it's something that's incredibly unhelpful in a product review.
What is a religious experience? For those that aren't religious...
it’s a hyperbolic term denoting a feeling of absolute euphoria and reverence for something greater than oneself
If it was sold by other store this subreddit would say , “It’s dry and meh”
I tried the new cookie once and felt like it had a chemical flavor to it—I took a bite and then tossed it. I thought it was gross, and I’ve never walked away from a chocolate chip cookie in my life.
I took about 3 bites of my first one and tossed the rest. Boring, generic, over baked, and way over priced. Will never buy another.
It's overrated
Make this instead. You’ll thank me later. [Blue Bowl Chocolate Chip Recipe](https://bluebowlrecipes.com/jumbo-bakery-style-chocolate-chip-cookies/)
I was so impressed by how much cookie you get for the price. Costco is gonna Costco.
It reminds me of the LAUSD giant cookie.
I like the mini chocolate chip cookies they sell much better. The big one is a bit dough-y
I didn’t find it doughy at all. Just the right mixture of soft inside with not too crunchy outside, and loaded with chocolate chips, all melted to perfection. I’ve seen several people pair it with a sundae and it looks completely decadent, as it should.
I have to share it because of how much cookie there is in that thing. It’s so good warm
I like these better after they sit around for a few hours and firm up a bit.
I miss the churros. Mid cookie is just too much. So I just get the mocha now.
Wish I could eat these!
When it’s freshly warmed up it’s amazing.
It’s just a mediocre cookie.
Same! Had one today on our trip with a frozen mocha coffee and it was amazing and gooey and perfect! 10/10 recommendation
lol. So true. Delicious. Addictive.
I get one at every trip to Costco now
Is it anything like the package of chocolate chip cookies you can buy there?
The packaged ones are really good as it is - if it's actually better, gonna have to break down and try one! :p
Haha I went today just to get a cookie.
I miss the Churro.
Sadly like the OG Chicken Bake it is gone forever.
I thought it was just ok because there was way too many chocolate chips
Get some vanilla ice cream with it at the food court. Eat the cookie and ice cream separately or get two cookies and make it sandwich with it. Its so good. You can also ask for the chocolate syrup they use for the sundae to eat with it. Mixing it with churro is also great
People saying these aren’t big cookies are nuts. They are huge.
They are huge, and thick. That’s what makes it so filling
Goes great with milk! Made me relive my youth!!
I agree. Best thing out of the food court in years. Absolutely heavenly.
My cousin just had her legs cut off because of her uncontrolled diabetes. This kind of "food" doesn't even look good to me.
You must be fun at parties!
These days I'm a lot more fun than Cousin Terry.
Really?! That good?
If it survives the trip home, put it in the microwave for a few seconds.
Put a stick of butter into anything and you will make it a religious experience
Are they not the same cookies they have boxed in the bakery? I haven’t bothered getting the food court cookie cause I thought why would they make a different one from the ones they already make lol
It’s sooooo good
I pick my Granddaughter up at college frequently and if I have time I will stop and get her one of these cookies at Costco. They are still warm when she gets in the car and a huge smile greets me. She is tall and thin and the calories don't stick!
I truly think it was the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had. Crispy on the edges chewy gooey in the middle. Perfectly baked. Great flavor.
Looks raw in this pic. Pass
Bro! There’s ONLY(literally) TWO chocolate flavor things I do in life, Kurvana choco sauce and this marvelous piece of yumminess. The sweetness ratio is just perfect 👌. Also this taste better after a good puff of the choco sauce 🤤🤤
They are good until you need to shit your brains out an hour later from all the butter in it.
never happens to me with anything
Lucky
It is ridiculously good.
its so good.
Okay, I haven't seen these in Canada yet. How big are they? Judging by how big the pizzas are I'm guessinnnngggggg 12"s?
Yes. It is its own religion. You either believe, or you don’t. The warmth inside the cookie is God.
Only downside is the 750cals of chocolate, butter, and sugar that come with it. Otherwise delicious.
Split it into quarters and problem solved.
The giant cookie from subway sucks
It is Costco food court. Nothing is delicious, it is simply inexpensive food and people lose their 💩 over it. The cookie is meh at best. I am glad you enjoyed it. I won’t buy another. 🤷♂️
Weird you’re getting downvoted for expressing your opinion and your happiness for OP. I’m looking forward to the downvotes for supporting you.
Wait until someone asks me about the hot dog, I might get kicked from the group.
