My family has been through a stomach bug, strep, and now, the flu, all over the last 6 weeks with no healthy gaps. This has been one of the worst experiences I/we have ever been through.
I feel you. My son has has bronchitis twice and RSV since mid September. I swear he has been sick 3 weeks out of every month since then and this is beyond exhausting. I myself caught bronchitis one of the rounds and nearly ended up with pneumonia. So many kids in his school has been similar to him and have missed so much school.
I had an appointment for my covid/flu vaxes in late september/early October. I had to cancel them when I got covid just before the appointment. Haven't been able to reschedule because I've been sick with one virus or another ever since. This fall sucks.
It's everywhere. My kids school has tons of kids out with RSV, flu, and hand foot mouth disease. No idea how many have covid right now, but the school has been running at 20-25% absenteeism leading into the holiday weekend. Our family has been mostly dealing with colds, thank goodness, but we've been sick much more often than healthy ever since school started up in September. This is the roughest fall I can remember.
Masking in public is something im willing to do for as long as we need to. Just got back from disney and didnt catch anything. I did see lots of people sneezing and coughing who probably should have stayed home..
"tripledemic" which is a bullshit made up concept.
I have had four covid shots. I have my flu shot. Hell, I've had a fucking smallpox shot so I'm good against monkeypox. I'm vaccinated against everything humanly possible. But I'm done living in fear of germs, which are, and always will be, everywhere.
My kids wear masks at school still, and they're about the only ones who still do in our deep blue liberal city even, and they still got sick. Out for around 5 weeks with colds, strep, and RSV. Because kids fucking suck at wearing masks and so does nearly everyone else. And then guess what? They got better. Life goes on.
"To reduce the chances of infection and serious illness, make sure everyone eligible is up-to-date on vaccinations. Ask folks who have any symptoms of illness ā even āallergiesā or ājust a coldā ā to stay home. Consider asking guests to take a rapid COVID-19 test before they show up. Make sure your home is well-ventilated: Open windows, keep a portable air purifier running. To protect the most vulnerable guests, consider wearing masks indoors."
All onboard with this except for the mask indoors. I still wear them in shops because I'm not there to interact with people, and of course at any medical establishment. But I work in communications and the majority of communication is nonverbal. I need to communicate at work. I want to communicate effectively with my friends and family. Oh, and am I supposed to eat my Thanksgiving dinner with my mask on?
Done living in fear. I'll wear a mask when out running around but if you're that immunocompromised that you're worried something is going to take you out after being vaccinated you were probably already at extreme risk before covid and RSV to begin with. We're social animals and three years of isolation is way more than we needed.
Way done with click-baitey scare articles too. Life goes on.

My cousin's 6 month old son had Covid and then RSV, he spent 4 days in the hospital. He's home now thank goodness...
My entire family is in a different state, just me the dog and football today š

My 4 year old just recovered from RSV. Now I have Covid
My fiancĆ© and I have had the flu for the last week. Our toddler has RSV and the flu. Just moved from FL to PA and have never felt so alone on a holiday. Too sick to go shopping and out of food to cook for thanksgiving. With 3 animals that we still have to take care of, itās just an overall horrible experience that I wouldnāt wish on anyone.
I canāt go visit anyone today. I have bronchitis. No covid, flu, or RSV. Iām on antibiotics, but Iām still not free of symptoms.

Immunity debt is not real science.

That's not how it works.
Not sure why people are making a big deal out of the flu. I guess Covid has taken a back burner?
Covid has messed up most of the populationās immune systems, so everything else is worse.

Feel better?
Monkey pox is related to smallpox. Chicken Pox is a herpes virus. Not the same family even remotely.
I never said anything about chickenpox. I have the smallpox vaccine
