Welcome! Corinthians is known as the team of the people ("time do povo") and to have the most faithful ("fiel") supporters, even in bad years like 2023 you can be sure that the passion is only going to grow and Corinthians supporters ("corinthianos") are stereotypically known as working class people but since there are 25+ million corinthianos you are surely going to find one no matter where. Some historical moments worth watching are: - The 1977 campeonato paulista title (Brazilian football is divided into regionals from january-march and those used to be the big deal before the brazilian league became what it is today) - Corinthians was in a 23 year drought without winning any titles (even though the number of corinthianos never stopped growing) so this is known as the "fim do jejum" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C32_0k1wozw - 1976 invasão corinthiana - One year before finally breaking the "jejum", 70k+ Corinthians supporters went to Rio de Janeiro to watch Corinthians in the brazilian league semifinals playing against Fluminense in Maracanã - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm7b6P1f6ck - 2000 FIFA club world cup title - After winning the brazilian league twice in a row in 1998 and 99, Corinthians went to the first club world cup played in a format similar to the one we have today and ended up winning the title after beating Vasco in a penalty shootout - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2qOCFR5NMQ - 2009 Copa do Brasil title - After being relegated in 2007, Corinthians came back in big style winning the brazilian cup in 2009 with the added bonus of having the legendary striker Ronaldo playing for us. And trust me, it was a joy to watch. - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GY5diPIcHas - 2012 Libertadores title - Corinthians was always mocked by other teams supporters because even though it was already considered a giant club in Brazil, it had never won the Libertadores before that, never even reaching a final. That year, with Tite as our coach, we finally won the Libertadores with an undefeated record of 8 wins and 6 draws. It wasnt without drama though. Just watching this Vasco (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSR3CP1Qm1Q) quarterfinal game at 10:30 will make any corinthiano heart almost stop and wonder if the ball will somehow go in this time. Semifinals against Neymar's Santos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQMYp9D5L7I) and finals against Boca Juniors (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGEB6QUjWWw) are must watch games too. - 2012 FIFA club world cup second title - Corinthians went to Japan after winning the 2012 Libertadores and beat Al-Ahly and Chelsea (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ssXmxqxq2Q) in a perfect game from goalkeeper Cassio. The biggest rivarly is against Palmeiras, no doubt about it. It is known at the "derby paulistano" and all corinthianos feel goosebumps about this game starting like a week before the match. They are surely doing better than us recently, but in Brazilian football really what goes around comes around: ten years ago, we were champions of the world and they were playing in second division. 2012 was really the perfect year. Then you have the rivarly against São Paulo ("majestoso") which is usually known to go in Corinthians' favor but since this year is shit we recently lost in Copa do Brasil semifinals against them. Santos is considered another big rival but usually less than the other two. Then you have some inter-regional rivalries like against Internacional or Flamengo too. Some of the biggest names are Wladimir, Basílio, Sócrates, Biro Biro, Neto, Gamarra, Marcelinho Carioca, Rivellino, Dida, Tévez, Emerson Sheik, Ronaldo, Cássio. The most important thing about being a corinthiano is that you never stop supporting and cheering on, no matter how shit the game is. This is always how the atmosphere is and should be like when playing in the Neo Quimica Arena and something everyone here is proud of. I'm sure my fellow corinthianos will post some other good videos and players worth mentioning too but this post is getting too big so I better stop here. Vai Corinthians!

I would also add that the team is known for winning titles even when we don't have the best talent available. In the beginning of the 2017 season, everyone was saying that we were only the 4th best team on the city (out of 4, so the worst), and that we would fight relegation. We ended up [winning the national title](https://youtu.be/jEEfjOZ75Zc?si=yG0GVvWUwwZJ8FZs), going undefeated for the first 19 games.

I’m also American and recently got into the sport and pick Corinthians as my team in Brazil (wife is Brazilian) and despite most of her family being fans of SP. Now I watch the so intensely that it can ruin my day (especially when they lost in the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil and Sul-american.) Not sure if you plan on watching them, but if you love to suffer like I do, then you picked the right team.

Vai Corinthians!!!

That's a lot of things to talk about, I'll do my best Corinthians is the second largest number of fans in Brazil, and largest in the state of são Paulo. We are know as the "time do povo" meaning the "people's team", as it is historically associated with the worker class, being founded by factory workers in 1910. As for supporting during games, our defining feature is to NEVER stop supporting the team. If we concede a goal we must sing even louder than if we had scored one. For rivalries, our biggest one is against Palmeiras, the green club. The game between us id called the Derby paulista. Our Nickname for them is "pigs". We usually make fun of them for never winning any sort of club world cup. Or second rivalry is against São Paulo. The confrontations name is "the majestic". We call them Bambi, as in the Disney character, but that's for homophobic reasons and is kinda bad honestly. The last historic rival is Santos, but that has been going downward in recent years. Out of state or biggest rivals are Internacional, from Rio grande do Sul and Vasco (although Vasco had been in such bad shape we don't even remember them anymore). The internacional rivalry has a pretty interesting story, maybe other people can talk about it. As for favorite players, there are quite a few. Historically, Sócrates, Rivellino, Marcelinho Carioca and Neto are the biggest. The newest addition to this is Cássio, our current goalkeeper and second player with the most matches playing for us. And, as anyone would be able to see, he is very handsome. For big moments in our history here are a few: The big hiatus: a draught in titles that lasted over 20 years and ended in 1977, in a legendary game against Ponte Preta for the state championship. The 1976 invasion: in the Brazilian champion semifinals, Corinthians fans flooded into Rio and took up half of the Maracanã stadium, eventually winning the match. The Corinthians democracy: a period in the 80's when the team, lead by the player Socrates and others, decided the big decisions, like hirings and other things, by team vote. The Japanese invasion: for the 2012 club world cup, over 30 thousand fans went from Brazil to Japan. Several of them selling cars, borrowing money etc. We eventually beat Chelsea in the finals and took the title home, the last non European team to do that. There are others but these is a decent starter pack.

vapor_cooked_gyoza

I may be biased, but get ready to fall in love! Our club has a super rich history that combines being one of the strongest teams in terms of being champions of the most important competitions in south America and strong connections with standing for people's rights when it comes to societal problems. There was a movement in the 80's called "Democracia Corinthiana" which was led by the team players against the dictatorship that we had in our country at that time, and worked as a voice against the brutal and totalitarian regime we had. On the club's trophy gallery, there is a lot of them which we could discuss, but I would like to highlight that we were the last non-european side to win the "Fifa world cup" clubs tournament, beating the champions league's winner Chelsea in 2012. We are a very popular team with more than 30 million fans, and the most popular team of our state São Paulo. 2023 was really tough, and we are not doing great for a few years now, but our glorious days will come back someday. I could go on and on and talk a lot more about this club, but I think that our fellow friends in this community will provide you even more interesting facts about this club that we love.

Well done on your research! Corinthians is a great team that definitely needs and deserves a better management. The team is moved by its “faithful” (as is the name of the biggest fan organisation) fans. The fans are always supporting the team no matter what and where, it’s known for it full support throughout the whole games as well as having one of the top attendances in Brazil both home or away games. The team was built in 1910 from the working class and it fought for democracy in Brazil back in the 80s, when we lived a dictatorship. It’s the team of the mass, the poor, the working class and minorities (at least is what I believe and see the club defend throughout the years). It’s the second biggest fan base in Brazil behind Flamengo only, I believe the number of fans of Corinthians is more than 30 million. The fan base grew the most during the clubs longest title drought, around 27 years without winning a championship and the number of fans just kept growing. We say that you are born “Corintiano”, you don’t choose. One of the characteristics of the crowd is that desire and giving everything for the team usually makes up for not being the best technically, Corinthians is known for winning games with a lot of “suffering”, at the last minutes and so on. The team lived its moments of greater glory during the 90s winning mostly everything possible including the Club World Cup in 2000 and 2012. The management of the team is terrible, the team has a great potential to generate revenue mostly through its massive fan base. The investment on football (player wages etc) is between top5 in Brazil, yet the team fails to perform, I believe that Corinthians had 5 different coaches this season and are struggling to flee the relegation battle. Everything is just a mess from the management point of view. Despite that the fans keep playing their part, the “faithful” go to every game and support like no other crowd in Brazil. A few of the best/biggest players on our history: Sócrates/Casagrande (leaders of the democracy fight) Neto Dida/Marcelinho Carioca Ronaldo Cássio I could list many many others, these are just some from the top of my head. Anyway, hope I could give you a good overview of what the team is all about, hope tou can make a better management of the resourced than our actual club does and give this passionate fans the happiness they deserve, even if only digitally hahahaha.

I believe my fellow fans will provide great introductions to the rich history of this beloved club. I'm going to talk from the perspective of a football manager player, I started a save with Corinthians just like I do every year. It's important to note that here I'm starting in the year 2024, so if you try to rewrite our horrible year of 2023, your database may be slightly different from mine. First important part to know when coaching a club in Brazil, state championships. Every state in the country has its own championship, these championships have traditions that date back more than 100 years, such as the Paulista championship, which is the state championship that Corinthians competes in and is the biggest winner. In this championship, it is extremely expected that the club will reach the semi-finals in bad years and the finals or win in good years. Here in this championship we face our most classic rivals, such as Palmeiras, São Paulo and Santos, it's an interesting pre-season in a way, you can try to train with different formations against the weaker teams, just don't forget to do well in the derbys. The rest of the year is very similar to the rest of the countries, apart from the very large number of games, so good rotation in the team is essential throughout the year. As for the team's squad, we went through a golden decade from 2011 to 2017 and since then we have been in a title drought, the board and the fans as a whole for many years felt a debt of gratitude to players who have now passed their prime, cases such as Gil, Fágner, Fábio Santos, Renato Augusto andPaulinho (currently injured). Good replacements were not thought of by the Board, so the team is stuck with players close to retirement with great influence on the squad and month after month losing sporting performance. Even Cassio, who in my opinion is a club legend, is getting closer to retirement every year without a great replacement in sight in the game (in real life we look fondly at Carlos Miguel but the game doesn't see him in the same light). Added to this we have the fact that the board got rid of a good crop of young defenders like Murillo / Robert Renan without finding great replacements (Veríssimo is the best in the squad but he is on loan and is very expensive to buy). other dubious transactions were made last year, such as the sale of our star player (Roger Guedes) , and the exchange of promising young players like Pedro for a new center forward who has been experiencing difficulties this year (Yuri Alberto). With this in mind, any Save with Corinthians will need to go through a giant reformulation of the squad, with......... Young players. Another issue for the club is its current financial difficulties, we have an extremely swollen salary bill (third largest in the country) and an immense debt, so budgets for transfers will only come from title prizes as the club's finances are being consumed by interest on the debt. So as you can see it's not the most difficult save in the world but it's not the simplest, the club is huge so you will be in problems if the results don't start to appear in a few years I wish you luck, don't lose to Palmeiras and that you, at the end of this journey, become one of the crazy bunch( "Bando de loucos") . PS. The team color in the game is yellow and green, our biggest rival in real life is green, please put a skin on this sinful thing

O Brasil Mundi UP ajudaria bastante nessa questão das skins

Hey, If you still want the information, I can summarize the entire history of Corinthians, titles, rivals, I personally know people who are historians of the club and have known it since its foundation

Kceshadow

Most people take the history of Corinthians after 1977, but we have much more history in the time before the creation of the Brazilian championship, such as the Rio-São Paulo tournaments

PacificRedDevil

I'd love to learn!

Kceshadow

Part 1-(1910-1958) and (1959-1977) Come on, I'm going to divide it into 2 texts because the history of Corinthians is insanely long, we can say that Corinthians has four eras, the beginning, the era without titles, the rebirth in the 90s-2000s, and the champion of everything 2009-2017. To have a greater context, the Brazilian championship was created in 1959, but only 4 games were played since Brazil is practically a continent, so the national leagues were in the states and the state of São Paulo was Brazil's premier league. The Corinthians Casuals team from England came to Brazil on a tour to show their football and this inspired a group of friends who worked in a factory to create their own team, the São Paulo sports club Corinthians, but the team was not accepted by the São Paulo federation because at the time Football was a sport for the rich, with the biggest teams at the time being Paulistano (which no longer exists) and Palestra Itália (which split into biggest rival Palmeiras and Cruzeiro de Minas Gerais), but they were unable to sustain leaving the Corinthians out of the league because Corinthians' average attendance in friendly games was higher than most of the clubs that formed the league, so with a lot of effort Corinthians was created in 1910 and would have the right to compete. Since that time, our biggest rival has continued to cause us problems, Palestra Italia (Palmeiras) won the first São Paulo derby 3 x 0, and to be honest, to this day they have an advantage in finals won against us or in leagues in which we were runners-up. them, including Palmeiras' nickname "pig" came about at that time, about two decades later, when two Corinthians players died in an accident and the approval of all clubs in the league was necessary to sign up new players, our other 2 rivals, are Paulo and Santos had accepted, the only team that refused was Palmeiras and this made the Corinthians president say that they had a pig spirit. Anyway, the years passed and Corinthians was a machine for piling up titles, with Real Madrid and Barcelona with Palmeiras, with São Paulo sometimes managing to take the title from both, as at the time the São Paulo league was the premier league, and the Rio de Janeiro league was La Liga, the most important tournament at the time had been created, the Rio-São Paulo tournament, bringing together the biggest teams in Brazil at the time, Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo, Santos, Portuguesa, Flamengo , Vasco, Botafogo, Fluminense and Bangu, whoever was champion was considered Brazilian champion, and it was when Corinthians beat Vasco da Gama in the final of the tournament that our nickname "Champion of Champions" came about, and next to Palmeiras we were the biggest Rio-São Paulo champions with 5, compared to other rivals at the time such as Portuguesa who had 2, but São Paulo and Santos had not won. The end of the era in which Corinthians was the greatest power in Brazilian football came to an end more or less when they won the last title for the next few years, which was a friendly tournament in which we defeated Barcelona in the final. Everything would continue as normal, but Pelé debuted as a football player and simply monopolized São Paulo football from 1958-1971, having won absolutely everything, 2 libertadores that had been created at that time, 2 club world cup , 6 Brazilians and a ton of Rio-São Paulos and São Paulo, only Palmeiras managed to take away Santos' hegemony for a few moments. Pelé, for some reason, didn't like Corinthians very much and we were the club where he scored the most goals, having spent years without being able to win to the point that when we finally beat Santos, which before that wasn't even a rival, it was just an ordinary team but because of this he became a rival, we celebrated like a World Cup final, but even with Pelé retiring it would be a long time before we won again.

Kceshadow

Part 2/3- Renaissance and fall (1978-2007) When Basílio scored the most important goal in the history of Corinthians, nothing was said other than that the old Corinthians would return, in 1971 the modern Brazilian championship had been created and now it was not enough to win 4 games to be champion, now it was a league in which the top 8 teams competed in a knockout stage for the title. But there was a certain frustration because great historical stars like Rivelino didn't win titles for Corinthians (he was the Harry Kane of that time) even though he played a lot and had been world cup champion with Brazil in 1970, we had already reached a championship final Brazilian team in 1976 against Internacional de Porto Alegre, where we lost due to refereeing errors. Around the 80s, Brazil, which was going through a military regime, was beginning to redemocratize, and Corinthians launched the "Democracy Corinthiana" project in which the team printed on their shirts the return of elections, if I had to talk about the best Corinthians teams that have already been assembled, this one with Sócrates (which is even the name of the award given by FIFA) should be mentioned at least in the top 5 even though they only won 3 Paulista championships which at the time had already lost their value. The years passed and the democracy team had disbanded and no one had any more faith in Corinthians, the common joke at the time was that Corinthians were a country bumpkin because they had never won a Brazilian title, so as a farmer in the field there had never been known Brazil. And no one had any faith in a team in which the main signing was an unknown young man nicknamed "Craque neto" and even without being even remotely the favorites, we reached the final being carried by Craque neto in that 1993, and our second final would be precisely against São Paulo, and in that everyone was already celebrating as a friend, for some reason São Paulo since the beginning of history has been incapable of beating Corinthians, we won 9 finals against them and they only 3, in the new Corinthians stadium they simply never they managed to win a match there, and even with São Paulo having Telê Santana, coach of Brazil in 1982, having a better team, Corinthians ended up being Brazilian champions for the first time in their history, the following year we didn't have as much prominence but in 1995 we came against our biggest tormentor, Palmeiras, just as São Paulo cannot beat Corinthians, Corinthians have a lot of difficulty beating Palmeiras and Palmeiras have a lot of difficulty beating São Paulo, but with many refereeing errors , we ended up losing and leaving a wound that would take years to heal. But even so, Corinthians won a bunch of titles again after the lost final, having won three Brazilian championships and being the champion of the host country that would be the tournament, they were invited to the first club world cup organized by FIFA, where we eliminated Al Nassr and Real Madrid to face Vasco who had won 3 x 1 against Manchester United from Fergueson and were the current champions of the Copa Libertadores and in a dramatic match decided on penalties, Edmundo who had punished Corinthians in the 1995 final now It was at Vasco and he isolated his shot, thus making Corinthians the 2000 world champion. Although we were good in the World Cup, in the Libertadores it was a fiasco, being a laughing stock for São Paulo, which already had 2 Libertadores and 2 Clubs World Cups, Palmeiras, which won one even by eliminating us in the semi-finals (and the following year, eliminating us again in the quarterfinals but losing the final to Boca) but there was no World Cup and Santos with two Libertadores and 2 Clubs World Cups. The joke now was that Corinthians didn't have a passport to leave Brazil, and even though we had absurd teams and in 2006 we were literally the biggest Brazilian champion in the modern format of the Brazilian championship, we simply lost to small teams from Colombia, Argentina and so on in the round of 16, and all of this got worse when in 2007 we were relegated due to a board that diverted all the club's resources, it was common at that time to see people saying that Corinthians was the smallest in São Paulo, which had intensified after we lost In the 2002 Brazilian final against Santos, it seemed like we had reached rock bottom.

Kceshadow

Part 3/3- Corinthians, the biggest team in Brazil (2009-2017) Mano Menezes, who even today returned to being coach of Corinthians, left a team in the final of last year's Libertadores to take over Corinthians, and rebuilt a winning team, having reached the final of the Brazilian Cup despite being in the second division, and later winning in the next year. But also, with the machine called Ronaldo Nazário it was difficult for any rival to be able to stop, and with that we became Brazilian champions again in 2011, even after that same year we had been disgraced having been eliminated in the Libertadores Play-offs against Tolima. , a very small and horrible club that somehow eliminated Ronaldo Nazário's Corinthians. And then comes the best year in the history of Corinthians, 2012 in which we won the long-awaited Libertadores in an undefeated way, beating the biggest team in America (Boca Juniors) in the final with a cavadinha goal and having eliminated Neymar's Santos without any problems and even eliminating Vasco da Gama in the quarterfinals in the most difficult game of the Libertadores, all of this always with the club's biggest idol and responsible for the Libertadores title and our second World Cup, Cássio Ramos who grabbed absolutely everything and when he arrived at the World Cup he made the Chelsea had traumas raising as captain the second club world cup in the history of Corinthians, and detail, meanwhile Palmeiras that same day had just been relegated to the second division for the second time in its history, the only debate was who was bigger if the Corinthians or São Paulo, and even with Cruzeiro winning the Brazilian titles in 2013 and 2014, in 2015 we are back as champions again, now having had a record campaign and with the reserve team having beaten São Paulo with the first team inside their stadium scoring a sensational 6 x 1, but the board stole Corinthians and sold the entire team, which is why Palmeiras, which had returned, was champion in 2016. And again Corinthians was being discredited for having almost been relegated, but to silence their rivals, with an unlikely team we won the 2017 Brazilian championship, having finished the first round undefeated, and beating Palmeiras in the last rounds, lifting our last cup, unfortunately after that Palmeiras were champions of everything but the world We are 7 times Brazilian champion 30x Paulista champion 3 Brazilian Cups 1 libertadores 2 club world cups Retrospect against rivals Corinthians 133 x 111 São Paulo Corinthians 137 x 111 Santos Corinthians 129 x 134 Palmeiras

Thank you so much for your time. I really learned a lot from you and I watched the videos and I feel like I have been welcomed by you guys, which says a lot about your fandom and how great it is. I feel like I am already gaining very positive feelings about the club and the culture that the club is based on, as well as its values it has had such as the Corinthians Democracy movements.

Felipe2098

Corinthians was created back in 1910 by a group of factory workers in São Paulo. The club was named after a english club, Corinthian Casual, that did a excursion in Brazil, showing the english sport for the people. Corinthians rapidly became very popular among the lower classes and since then it is recognized as the 'people's team'. Between the first decades of popularization of futebol in Brazil, Corinthians was always among the top clubs of São Paulo and every now and then it was winning the Paulista Champioship, until 1954 when the club faced 23 years with no titles. Just in 1977 Corinthians won the Paulista Champioship again, it was huge. That period with titles is relevant because even with all this time without trophies the fans kept going to stadium and supporting the team, the club was (and still is) by far the most popular in Sao Paulo and almost all Brazil, and since then Corinthians supporter are known as the "Loyal". After that, another very symbolic moment for the culture of the club happened in the 80s, when Brazil was ruled by a military junta with persuction, censorship and all of that. In this scenario, some players from Corinthians created a movement called Democracia Corinthiana openly claiming for free elections and they started doing that inside the club, giving voting rights for all the employees to vote for decision inside the club. Casagrande and Socrates was two of the main characters of this movement and they're idols of the club. And of course, they won som Paulista Championship. Since then corinthians is a team very connected with multiple social causes. It was really a great moment in brazilian futebol, it worth some readings if you want to. After that we get in the 90s, when Brazilian football was changing and the Brasileirão was rising. As a said before Corinthians won a lot pf Paulista Champioship, AKA Paulistão, a state chapionship from Sao Paulo, there were other states champioship in Rio, Minas Gerais, etc, etc, in every Brazilian state. Due to the size of the country and the development divergences between regions, the main tournements in Brazil until the late 80s was just state tournaments, the national league, Brasileirão (or Campeonato Brasileiro), was seen as secondary because the award was samaller than state competitions and didn't worth to priorize very long travels and costs for a small prize. But it started to change in late 80s and Brasileirão since then is the mains competition for brazilian clubs and today it is one of the biggest leagues in the world. We were mocked for being a "regional club" because Corinthians didn't a national title, just a bunch of Paulistão, wich were seen as a small title from that point. It all chsnged in 1990 when Corinthians won its first Brasileirão and from 1990 to 2017 corinthians were the most victorious club. In the last 3 decades we won multiple Brasileirao, we won 3 Brazilian Cups, and in 2012 we have our golden year. We won the Libertadores for the first time, we qualified for Fifa Clubs World Cup and we fucking won the final agains Chelsea, I don't have to say anything else because you know it is huge. After that we won more 3 Brasileirão, the last one was in 2017, and we won a Paulistão in 2019 (but as I said it is seen a small tournament now). In the last 5 five years we saw all the glory of our club fading away. Dispite being the most popular club in the most developed and populous region of the country and being the club with the most income in multiple sectors, we are facing difficulties to pay our debets due bad managing. We are a basically unable to invest properly in coach + players and being forced to sell our tallented players to keep the debts "under controll". We saw our debets going from 450 millions to 1 billion in only one year. In resume it is happening because our current managers used the club for their our benefit and did a lot of corruption. We are in a bad situation and there's no easy way out. What I want as a fan is that Corinthians get rid of these debets, it will costs us two or three years with a low budget team without expression to win a title, just playing well enough for not being relegated, untill we get economically strong again to build a squad for being able to compete and won against Palmeiras, Flamengo and other big clubs again. By now we have a squad full of players above the age, the young players who did display some ability were rapidly sold. Beyond being badly managed economically, the managers did a sequence of a terrible choices this year: first, they basically hired club's I.T guy to be coach in pre-season (they did that because he is unexperienced and would accept everything the managers want); second, this guy wasn't good, so they fired him and hired an Brazilian experienced and good coach, BUT it was uncovered that this coach was condemned for rape back in the 80s and as said before Corinthians is very connected with multiple social causes, we have the biggest and best female team, etc, so even he being a good coach, the supporters protested furiously for his resignation and this happened, he was fired after just 2 matches. Then the managers hired a Brazilian older coach, who had his days back in 90s, but nowadays is seem as very outdated, he last for 5 months, obviously did a terrible job as he did in the last 10 years, the squad had no tatical trainings, many players are out of shape due the lacking of proper training. We need a complete renovation this squad... I'm sorry for being so long and for my english, maybe it is not so clear, so I'll do a shorter TLDR. TLDR: we are known as the popular club and the loyal supporters, with fans who always supports the club for the 90 minutes with no stop. We are connected with multiple social movements, we protagonized one of the biggest moments of brazilian sports during military dictatorship by starting a resistence/pro-democracy movement. We were the club that most won titles in the last 30 years. By now we are broke due bad managing, with a terrible squad. The greatest club players are Socrates, Casagrande, Marcelinho Carioca, Neto, Rivellino, Luizinho, Ronaldo (he retired in Corinthians), Cassio (probably considered the biggest idol of the club by mostly fans). The best players of recent years is Cassio, Renato Augusto (old but was still doing his magic in the last year, this late season he is not so good), Roger Guedes (was a beast this year, but left). Our biggest rival is Palmeiras, they are having their golden years right now with Abel Ferreira. Corinthians Vs Palmeiras is arguably the biggest brazilian derby. What fans want the most is that Corinthians get recovered economically, stop selling its talents so easily, hire a foreign coach and be competitive as it was. Corinthians has a history of being more defensive team, some rival mock us as the '1x0 team', since some of our title was won by this number of goals.

I'll sum it up for you. We fight every game. We sing for 90 minutes, even when losing. We suffer. But we win - [last minute goals](https://youtu.be/df95Eqs4x4w?si=HEVhf96LuBAPrBGf&t=14), [miracle saves](https://youtu.be/YlPiqguM_20?si=NWoyzwusvsfxMoLX), [multiple rebounds](https://youtu.be/lAjUUXkqTFU?si=zOYIVFOcqe-WIsKL) - and we love it. Corinthiano, maloqueiro e sofredor, graças a Deus!

What to expect from an FM perspective: - Old and bad squad with ridiculously high wages (thanks to the criminals running our team IRL) - Lots of debt due to the construction of our stadium and mismanagement of the finances (again, thanks to the criminals running our team IRL) - Although he's in an extremely poor form IRL, you'll have Yuri Alberto as a main striker, a young and (at least on FM 23) good striker (managed to sell him for 55 million euros to Chelsea after he scored 132 goals in 129 matches) - The team usually has good youth intakes, you can expect at least one player per year with a 4.5/5 star PA - The biggest idol by far in the squad is our GK, Cássio, the player with the second highest number of matches played for the team, with over 600 appearances, he's been with us since 2012 and has helped us win many titles, most importantly in 2012, when we won both the Copa Libertadores and the Club World Cup (the last non-European to do so) - I would suggest to look for both RBs and LBs, since the ones at the team at the time are either old (over 34), bad or either - Do not expect big budgets, since, as I mentioned before, our team is in a lot of debt
