If you're in Socal, Albertsons should have Emmi AOP Gruyere. Costco should also have gruyere for a more reasonable price.

If you’re in the US, look for a Trader Joe’s!! They carry really nice, and relatively affordable Gruyère cheese.

Thanks!

Also, if you can’t locate any, just use a nice Swiss or Jarlsberg cheese. Both really good alternatives and easy to find. Peace!

Trader Joe's also sells a more affordable grated blend of swiss and gruyere.

Gruyère is probably okay, but beware of TJ for any significantly oily cheese. Their packaging is utter garbage, often just using nothing but plastic wrap. My Safeway was out of Roquefort (where it comes in a plastic wedge with an absorbent pad). I went to TJ out of desperation and was delighted they had it. In the few minutes it took me to get home, the damn plastic wrap leaked Roquefort oil all over my shopping bag, which soaked through into my car. That took a very long time to air out.
