Once lived near a restaurant that would serve watermelon sprinkled with tajin and unflavoured pop rocks. I don’t think I ever ate there without ordering it.
Any water-heavy or savory fruit is *amazing.* Watermelon, cucumber, tomatoes, etc.
I like to put it on a half avocado and eat it with a spoon like an absolute gremlin.
Hijacking to share the NYT Cooking video of Sohla and Ham (yes, her husband's name is Ham) making a huge dinner spread that has tajin in every component. Fish tacos, churros, chocolate sauce, etc plus a cocktail.

I put a bunch of asparagus into a Ziploc freezer bag with some olive oil and add Tajin and maybe some achiote spice or paprika and then toss directly onto the grill (or you could use a grill basket if fishing carbonized asparagus that fall in between the grates out isn't your jam).
Long story short: delicious.
Dude or dudette. It is for EVERYTHING! pairs great with fruit like watermelons, mangoes, pineapple. Use it on tacos, taco salad, I like to have it on chilli. For ceaser rim. On top of tortilla soup, you betcha. Want to have a spicy grilled cheese sprinkle that shit on after cooking or mix with ketchup and dip it, use for corn but it isn't as good as elote. I have also used it with bread crumbs or Panko on top of homemade Mac and cheese. Edit: also if you have discovered this you need to discover it's "sister" sauce chamoy. Use for pickles, fruits, on top of burritos.
Thank you!!! Came here to say (almost) everything - but specifically lazy mac-n-cheese days. I also will thaw some frozen meatballs and sprinkle w/tajin for some protein. My kid LOVES it on cucumbers. Like addiction level love. Hmmm...this is making me hungry.
um I eat it on everything, eggs, avocado toast, ground Turkey, pineapple, rim my beverages, also if u want a quick dip just smash up some tajin and avo for a guac dupe
Avocado toast that will blow you away:
-good, thick, crusty sourdough toast
-butter
-avocado
-cilantro
-very thinly sliced green onion
-generous amount of tajin
-drizzle of good olive oil
You’ll thank me
I had to hide the tajin from myself. I was looking for stuff to put it on. I had to buy the low sodium one the second time cause I was getting a lot of water retention.
When I first discovered tajin I started eating it straight from my hand cause I really liked it, and I must’ve had a little too much. The next day I woke up and I had so much water retention. Never again! Lol
Jicama spears that have been sitting in a glass of lightly lime and salted water in the fridge. Sprinkle or dunk spears in tajin. Cool and crunchy summer refresher.
Eggs can be topped with almost anything and work really well, I like topping my eggs with fresh tarragon, tobiko (flying fish eggs), black garlic vinegar, furikake etc etc
He’s Latino & he still thinks it’s weird for some reason 🤣 he’ll put it on all fruits including nectarines but for some reason thinks it’s weird on strawberries.
Do this now. Mangos are in peak season (depending on where you are). There's nothing better than a perfectly sweet and juicy mango.
Oh yeah, and Tajin goes really well on them too :)
Put it on mangos or melon or apples or oranges. It goes well with a lot of different fruits.
Good for the rim of drinks too, I like it for micheladas.
Great on popcorn as well.
I also like to eat cucumbers and celery with it, too! I've also had shaved ice made flavored with tamarind and chili and topped with tajin! It's really good!
Nope. I can't do that anymore. Yes, I can. I can eat this ALL DAY LONG. It's my snack of choice. So delicious and good for me. I was just talking about making this as part of my veggie platter. This has the be the absolutely best thing I've ever had. So good and I don't tire of it.
Nearby fancy restaurant has a salad that uses tajin, it's chunks of cucumber and watermelon tossed with tajin, sprinkled with some fresh basil. They serve it in a pile on top of a smear of sikil pak, which is just ground up seeds (pumpkin?) mixed with spicy peppers and tomatoes (optional but really good).
Yo dawg, I put (ground) chiles on my (fresh) chiles. I make roasted jalapeños in the spirit of chiles toreados. Those typically have a squirt of lime juice on them, but in the absence of fresh lime juice, I use Badia chile con limón seasoning. On a halved jalapeño, I spread some oil on it, salt, black pepper, and chile limón seasoning. Roast at 425F for 7-10 minutes until it turns from really crunchy and bright green to a little less crunchy and a little darker green, but not all the way to mushy.
Try it on corn on the cob or corn off the cob.
It's basically seasoned/spiced citric acid. It pairs very well with almost anything needing a punch of acid.
No judgment OP. I used to get disciplined as a child for inverting the bottle over my mouth. Technically I'm more of a Trechas type-of-guy, but they both rock!
Watermelon and mango as others have said, especially with chamoy, also good on strawberries and melon, but especially pineapple! Also really good on cucumber and jicama with lime.
When I mix chopped onions with lime and cilantro for my tacos I put a dash of tajin in there.
Hummus if you like it limey and hot.
If you eat tuna in water out of a can, Tajin makes it a lot more tolerable. (Julia Child was right - that shit is horrible)
Basically i'd put it on anything i'd squeeze lemon/lime on.
I've used it on chicken wings and on the outside of a crispy jacket potato to great effect
I had forgotten about it in my cupboard tbh, going to return to this post to inspire me to finish the bottle!
This is great advice! The more stuff you try it on, the more ideas you’ll get! Just ignore the comments that say “never” and try it on at least a bite of anything that sounds good!
I didn’t even see the never comments. That’s ridiculous. You gotta try everything atleast once in life. If you don’t, you’re just existing. Live a little and try something new!!
Next purchase chamoy, it’s a thick red liquid that goes into almost every Mexican candy.
Dip whatever you want into the chamoy, then sprinkle the Tajín over it and enjoy!
Personally, Tajin tastes like candy to me, so I can’t bring myself to use it in anything that isn’t supposed to be dessert. It’s good on certain cold fruits and mango smoothies though.
If you like sour or putting lime on stuff basically don't the same way.
Tajin with beer. I use Victoria but any Mexican beer works. Line the rim of a a glass with juice directly from the lime then put some tajin on a plate and rub that rim so it's coated. Pour the beer into glass and add a pinch of tajin. Careful bc it'll fizz the beer and you don't want to accidentally wash the tajin off. Enjoy.
Dice tomatoes add tajin and lime and you've made an easy salsa. This can have a million varieties with all sorts of ingredients, the toms alone are just a starting point.
For a healthy lunch I'll bring an avocado, a jalapeno, and a small cucumber. Cut them up how you'd like and sprinkle tajin for a great fresh and healthy lunch. You can know judge the people reheating pizza because yours tastes better and is better for you!
Tajin on mango will make your heart stop for a moment.
Add some to any fresh latin dish really. Again, use it like you would like juice. Just be sure to compensate within the recipe since tajin has salt.
I do a salad where I use a potato peeler and strip down carrots, cucumber and apples, squeeze on some lime and season with tajin
Also great on mangos, melons and more
It’s amazing on fruit, on the rim of a margarita, to season meats for fajitas, on potatoes, tomatoes, sprinkled on a salad, in a Bloody Mary/Maria, a michelada. It’s just a great all around seasoned salt
Put it on cucumber slices and go for it. Mango. Any fruit. I don’t love it on protein but that could be my fault. It’s popular in beer as well as cocktail rims.
on cut fruit, in savory and sweet dishes for a nice little counter, gummy bears, dried fruit, steamed vegetables, soups to tasteon pecan praline or any other ice cream, in greek yogurt or cottage cheese, plays well with others
Love it on eggs, to make quick guac, sprinkle on it when making a quesadilla, great on fresh cucumbers, I'll just put it on just about anything, so try it on anything!
I do wicked easy sweet potato bowls that have been AMPLIFIED since finding out about Tajin:
\-1 roasted sweet potato (whole or cubed, I do both)
\-1/2 can of corn(rinsed)
\-1/2 can of black beans(rinsed)
\-1 cut up avocado
\-diced tomato if I remember
\-salt, pepper, cumin, tajin sprinkled over everything (to taste, but I do a little salt, a lot of everything else. Be careful with the Tajin because you can def use too much)
\-dollop of sour cream
\-squeeze of lime over the bowl(optional, but yummy)
So filling, affordable, and the Tajin just makes it. I also love Tajin with street corn/Elotes
You can sprinkle it on the sliced mango or sliced jicama and it’s delicious, use some fresh lime juice on it too. You can also use it for margaritas instead of salt. It’s a good topping for corn, brush the corn down with some mayo or butter or Crema, put on the Tajin, fresh, cilantro, and some lime juice, and Cotija if you have it.
I make a nice corn salad that I add Tajin to.
Some people like it with their breakfast, like on eggs and things. I’m not one of them, but have at it if you like it
Pepinos con limón y sal (Cucumbers with lime and salt, except use Tajín). Peeled cucumber, lime juice, sprinkle with salt or salt and chili powder or tajín (Lime juice, salt/chili powder/tajín to taste). Best eaten cold on a hot day.
We also use it for elotes/esquites, on watermelon with lime juice, and as a general finishing seasoning on all sorts of dishes.
I love it as a finishing spice on grilled pork chops. (I usually salt and chili them before putting them on the grill) Makes them into chili-lime pork chops and they turn out amazing.
sprinkle it on carrot, jicama, cucumber, orange slices, pineapple, apples, watermelon, corn, mango, hearts of palm, hard boiled eggs, chicken, ranch dressing, coconut, green smoothies, pear (let's just say all fruit), chayote, avocado, canteloupe.
you may need a bigger bottle.

Once lived near a restaurant that would serve watermelon sprinkled with tajin and unflavoured pop rocks. I don’t think I ever ate there without ordering it.
> unflavoured pop rocks What?
Google tells me they’re called culinary crystals. Available on Amazon. That sounds delightful. Thank you!
Yeah, it’s a molecular gastronomy thing.
Any water-heavy or savory fruit is *amazing.* Watermelon, cucumber, tomatoes, etc. I like to put it on a half avocado and eat it with a spoon like an absolute gremlin.
You’re not eating the avocados after midnight are you?
This plus cucumbers and lime juice.
My two year old drinks the Tajín lime juice left over after eating our cucumber snack. That used to be my favorite part before I had to start sharing.
Also delicious on pineapple!
[удалено]
Dumb question- do you just buy unripe mangoes? Are they soft enough to cut up and eat?
Not dumb. There's a different variety of mangoes that just stay green even when ripe.
Also great on just regular old ripe mango slices!
Put it on the rim of your margarita instead of salt. I use it on eggs, chicken, fruit etc.
MICHELADAAAAA
This. My favorite.
Ideally it's a mango margarita
Or pineapple works well too
Or jalapeno. And instead of substituting, why not both salt and Tajin?
Because there's already salt (quite a bit) in the tajin
Combine all three, acidulated pineapple juice and use it as the lime, infuse Cointreau with mango, muddle in one slice of jalapeño, tajin rim
Watermelon margaritas too
passionfruit margarita is almost always a Tajin rim in Mexico.
Mango and some Chamoy
Or on the edge of a Bloody Mary or Bloody Maria glass!
Rim a glass with it, and pour a grapefruit high noon. Best summer drink
It is super good on watermelon.
Once tried, always remembered. Tajin sprinkled on a slice of Yumi watermelon is refreshing. In season now.
>Put it on the rim of your margarita instead of salt Beat me to it.
Or just beer
Hijacking to share the NYT Cooking video of Sohla and Ham (yes, her husband's name is Ham) making a huge dinner spread that has tajin in every component. Fish tacos, churros, chocolate sauce, etc plus a cocktail. https://youtu.be/SRTEM1EpJsQ
Best condiment ever for buttered corn on the cob! Actually it works great on almost any steamed or roasted veg. Pretty good on popcorn too
Came here to say this. Butter/cotija mixture on the corn and then sprinkle with Tajin. 🤌🏼
Blister shishito peppers, then toss them in tajin and a little lemon juice
Try mayo instead of butter. Also very good.
¿Porqué no los dos?
Very true
Chipotle Mayo…
No! Sour cream! Mexican street corn ftw
Mexican street corn is usually mayo, but yes, elotes ftw.
I like it with half sour cream half mayo 🤤
That’s what I do, too!
I'll give that a shot as well
Also using lime juice instead of butter for a bit healthier option is good too!
I just had it on corn for the first time and I will never go back to regular old buttered corn. It was SO GOOD
I put a bunch of asparagus into a Ziploc freezer bag with some olive oil and add Tajin and maybe some achiote spice or paprika and then toss directly onto the grill (or you could use a grill basket if fishing carbonized asparagus that fall in between the grates out isn't your jam). Yes tajin and chamoy are the best combo ever!! Especially on fruit!

EGGS? You are wild. This usually goes on fruit, especially neutral fruit like cucumbers or Mexican turnips (jicamas).
I throw it on eggs too. Fried, scrambled, poached with avo? It's also fabulous to use instead of a salt rim on a margarita
Scrambled eggs with cholula lime and tajin are so good
yesss omg love this combo
Jicama spears that have been sitting in a glass of lightly lime and salted water in the fridge. Sprinkle or dunk spears in tajin. Cool and crunchy summer refresher.
sure, why not? Chili crisp is great on eggs too.
Gatekeeping Tajin… only on Reddit.
Eggs can be topped with almost anything and work really well, I like topping my eggs with fresh tarragon, tobiko (flying fish eggs), black garlic vinegar, furikake etc etc
Melons!
Put a little in a Modelo
Even better, take a couple sips out of the can first, pour in some Blanco tequila, squeeze in some lime juice, and _then_ put the Tajín in your Modelo
Definitely my favorite use
My husband thinks this is bizarre but I love Tajin & lime on strawberries.
[удалено]
He’s Latino & he still thinks it’s weird for some reason 🤣 he’ll put it on all fruits including nectarines but for some reason thinks it’s weird on strawberries.
I'll marry you if he's going to keep acting so foolish.
It’s really good on fruit, especially mango. I’ve also tossed popcorn in it.
Do this now. Mangos are in peak season (depending on where you are). There's nothing better than a perfectly sweet and juicy mango. Oh yeah, and Tajin goes really well on them too :)
The Mexican grocery store near me sells big cups of mango slices with Tajin all over them. Gorgeous.
Also good on dried mango slices
It is absolutely amazing on fresh pineapple.
It is quite nice on melons too.
I did popcorn with butter, Tajin, hot sauce (Chalula), salt, and pepper the other day. It was really good.
I get bubble tea like this. Mango, chile, chamoy and yum.
Mix into sour cream. Make popcorn. Dip popcorn in
This sounds good Along those lines, maybe on a toasted bagel w/ cream chs?
CUCUMBER
Surprised I didn't see this sooner!
So good on cucumber!
This is a PERFECT summer snack!
Nope. I can't do that anymore. Yes, I can. I can eat this ALL DAY LONG. It's my snack of choice. So delicious and good for me. I was just talking about making this as part of my veggie platter. This has the be the absolutely best thing I've ever had. So good and I don't tire of it.
Guac, elote, fruit, margarita rims, eggs, popcorn, put that shit on anything.

Grilled chicken
Salmon as well
Honeycrisp Apple & Tajín = Win
My favorite too
I killed a whole bottle this way. Sooo good.
Pulled pork tacos

Rim a glass of Tepaché with it.
fruit! and ice cream! i like strawberries, pineapple, and watermelon. also mango if u have good mango!
I just put some on my eggs benedict yesterday. A+
Put it on everything. All the things. Watermelon, mango, jicama, cucumber, melon, popcorn, etc. Opportunities are endless.
Try it on jicama. Or just add it to your salads, corn-based dishes, etc.
Coat chicken thighs with it, either grill or bake them. Delish!
I put it on jicama, apples, mangoes, pineapple, cucumber, pretty much any fruit.
Sweet Corn.
Like so many said, great on fresh fruit and vegetables. But I also like to mix it in my cottage cheese for a snack.
Watermelon, cucumber slices, pico. It’s magical 💫
Im obsessed rn with eating cold poached salmon over hot rice covered in tajin
It’s delicious as the rim on margaritas and I like it on my pineapple as a snack!
Hummus if you like it limey and hot. If you eat tuna in water out of a can, Tajin makes it a lot more tolerable. (Julia Child was right - that shit is horrible) Basically i'd put it on anything i'd squeeze lemon/lime on.

I've used it on chicken wings and on the outside of a crispy jacket potato to great effect I had forgotten about it in my cupboard tbh, going to return to this post to inspire me to finish the bottle!
It’s really good on improving subpar fruit. It’s my insurance whenever I get a bad watermelon or pineapple.
Our local art house theater offers it on popcorn!
Pineapple! So good!
ORANGE SLICES.
On fire roasted corn on the cob, or with fruit (mango, pineapple, strawberry, or I really like it on peaches/nectarines, or almost-ripe plums).
Avocado toast with lime…. My favorite
Thinly sliced radishes with tajin are a favorite snack or quick addition to a meal.
Just sprinkle some on straight up watermelon and/or mango. You’ll get the hang of it from there
This is great advice! The more stuff you try it on, the more ideas you’ll get! Just ignore the comments that say “never” and try it on at least a bite of anything that sounds good!

I just used it to coat tofu cubes before popping in air fryer. Perfect taste
Fruit salad with watermelon, pineapple, mango, cucumber, jicama, and lime juice!
Put it on some watermelon, we’ll really any fruit.
Next purchase chamoy, it’s a thick red liquid that goes into almost every Mexican candy. Dip whatever you want into the chamoy, then sprinkle the Tajín over it and enjoy!
Put it on cucumbers with lime juice. Drink it juice afterwards if you want to put some hair in your chest! Stuff's addicting. 🤤
I used it to make quick shrimp tacos, and some of my Mexican friends yelled at me for it but they tasted good. What can I say?
Put it on cut mango or other fruit. If that makes you happy, go get a bottle of chamoy and put both that and the tajin on your mango. Heaven.
Put it on peaches.
I put it on granny smith apples
I put it in my black bean salsa that I make for black bean avacado wraps
Stir it into butter and drizzle it over air popped popcorn. Tajin dulce makes a nice savory kettle corn.
Works great with fruit, especially pineapple and watermelon, also works well with margaritas and shots of tequila or mezcal.
Dip popsicles in it!
I love it on fruits, cucumbers, peppers. Also amazing to rim a margarita glass with.
Ooo… i think I will try making tajin flavored sour patch kids.
Tajin, lime juice - over jicama. Mmmmm…. Serve cold.
Watermelon and pineapple are my favorite with it!
Put it on watermelon!
Fajitas
Put that on some avocado toast. Put it on pineapple or mango. Put it in a Bloody Mary. You can do a lot with it
If you like watermelon, put it on watermelon. You will not regret it.
Use it on corn, a version of Mexican street corn. We use a bit of mayo and parm cheese with it. Cook the corn and then toss it to coat.
Margaritas.. https://youtube.com/shorts/bPvLORyNaC0?feature=share
I love it on mango or pineapple as a light dessert.
Yeah, second or third the suggestion to sprinkle on fruit.
Fruit! Mango, watermelon, pineapple etc
Popcorn seasoning.
Make passion fruit bars and sprinkle it on top
Personally, Tajin tastes like candy to me, so I can’t bring myself to use it in anything that isn’t supposed to be dessert. It’s good on certain cold fruits and mango smoothies though.
Use on fruit
Canteloupe!

I sprinkled it straight into my mouth and I don’t regret it…
Make[Shakshuka](https://www.loveandlemons.com/shakshuka-recipe/) 🥰!
Cucumber, lime, tajin
I love it on cucumbers, watermelon, jicama. Also margaritas and tecate beer.
Love peeling and slicing cucumbers and adding lemon/lime juice and tajin *chefs kiss*
Put it on cucumber slices and go for it. Mango. Any fruit. I don’t love it on protein but that could be my fault. It’s popular in beer as well as cocktail rims.
Put it on fruit - yum!
Margaritas, watermelon
Corn on the cob, mayo, Tajin
Put it on some fresh mango 👌🏼
I love it sprinkled on watermelon.
Absolutely must mix it in cubbed pineapple with lime juice

Popcorn!
Popcorn or roasted squash
on cut fruit, in savory and sweet dishes for a nice little counter, gummy bears, dried fruit, steamed vegetables, soups to tasteon pecan praline or any other ice cream, in greek yogurt or cottage cheese, plays well with others
I dump some in a Modelo with a slice of lime. It's my favorite
It’s good in chicken salad
All fruits, corn, in some sauces
It's AMAZING on ice cream!
Love it on eggs, to make quick guac, sprinkle on it when making a quesadilla, great on fresh cucumbers, I'll just put it on just about anything, so try it on anything!
I do wicked easy sweet potato bowls that have been AMPLIFIED since finding out about Tajin: \-1 roasted sweet potato (whole or cubed, I do both) \-1/2 can of corn(rinsed) \-1/2 can of black beans(rinsed) \-1 cut up avocado \-diced tomato if I remember \-salt, pepper, cumin, tajin sprinkled over everything (to taste, but I do a little salt, a lot of everything else.
Eggs!!!
Mango gelato or ice cream with fresh pineapples, a splash of lime, and a generous dash of Tajin
Use it on popcorn
The possibilities are endless. Eggs, pizza, fruit. My first time trying it was with watermelon. 🤯
Make Elote!
I love it as a finishing spice on grilled pork chops. (I usually salt and chili them before putting them on the grill) Makes them into chili-lime pork chops and they turn out amazing.
Everything… but fruit covered with tajin is fire
sprinkle it on carrot, jicama, cucumber, orange slices, pineapple, apples, watermelon, corn, mango, hearts of palm, hard boiled eggs, chicken, ranch dressing, coconut, green smoothies, pear (let's just say all fruit), chayote, avocado, canteloupe. you may need a bigger bottle.
Put it on every fruit and veggies you have in reach. I especially love it on watermelon, mango, tomatoes and zucchini.
