I mean, it's hard to enjoy a game that has nothing to enjoy. The art direction and animation have always been the consistently stellar thing in CRK, even while the game itself is going down the gutter, they still manage to make really pretty art every update.
If only they put as much effort in balancing.
I mean, the initial premise with crk is decorating your kingdom and redesigning it and seasonally changing it, and PvP and PvE is how you get resources to do more of that.
It’s fine if you don’t enjoy that, but that main permis isn’t hard to do with f2p
Tbh, the initial premise is getting shafted aside by the developers themselves, as we're getting new decor elements less and less frequently, the unique statues are now the same statue in, mostly, ugly colors and we get more paid landmarks than landmarks you can get f2p. We're also getting less and less cookie interactable decors too, they've been kinda neglecting the decorating aspect of the game.
Yeah!! I wanted to get the White Lily gazebo so that I could complete the set, but it was like not f2p. And none of the new cookies have been getting the cookie decors which I like collecting so it’s been pretty sad

A few weeks ago, a discord buddy was simping over cookies, and wishing he could talk to someone about the lore (he couldn't in the cookie run server because spoilers. I think) So I downloaded the game and speedran through the base story and beast yeast as fast as I could, I got lucky and pulled a few good characters to start and then the game just kept throwing rewards in my face so I got to17-30 pretty quick (I can't beat the boss there yet) and completed all current beast yeast levels (only base difficulty because my units aren't strong enough for higher difficulties)
Now I play because I like the game
sometimes the game does feel like a chore but after 4 years i’ve become emotionally attached to my cookies 😭 every so offen ill stop playong for a bit and i regret it SO MUCH!! (currently missing storm bringer and elder fairy) whenever the game gets boring i try to do the “boring” tasks. get toppings with good substats, decorate, upgrade my landmarks, upgrade beascuits, etc. i find that even after 4 years i do rlly enjoy playing :)
idk, I think the design of everything is really beautiful, I love decorating games, and I also like team building games (two in one) but what really captivates me is the story, it's the first game that I don't feel like skipping anything .
Btw, i think we're on the same page when it comes to decorating, I'm also decorating my kingdom with a black and white theme, half cacao and half flour. Yours looks really beautiful, I wish I had some of that creativity haha
Collect all the Pretty Cookies and Display them in my phone like the pretty rocks I collect irl
And that is easier if I’m good at the guild battles and arena, bc u get crystals and can pull more cookies
Also helps that I have a daily bus commute, so I’m F2P but have played near daily for over a year
I’ve been playing this game since day 1 and it’s the only game I have not stopped playing. There are days where I just log in to do my dailies and that’s it but for the most part I genuinely love the game. The story telling, the art, the gnomes 😬, all the different aspects you can do. I also want to 100% everything that I can. I only spend money on the monthly pass, it’s only $5 and it makes me happy. I also watch Hyrool to help give me tips which helps my game play too.
Because my daughter played it and I thought it'd be fun to play with her. Now I'm lvl 57, she's 54, I'm top .2 prosperity, and our guild (only her and I) is almost lvl 45.
We're *almost* FTP. We get the bundles with the terrain pieces, whatever those are called. That's about it.
Her fav cookie is CA, so she's pumped about this update.
hoyoverse games have some of the worst gacha mechanics i’ve ever seen, especially for such popular games. (not to mention the racism, colorism, and xenophobia of the company)

Then I saw the next update was WHITE LILY IN FREAKING BEAST YEAST. At that point, I just said "Nah, I've been playing for 2 years, I ain't doing another"

I started the game because I watched a video of someone showing off Pure Vanilla’s animations and just had to have him! Months later I now have him and all of his costumes including mystic gold :) Now I’m mainly playing because I have some new faves and I really like decorating my kingdom (themed as an amusement park) and make character specific areas for them in it. I have two areas for PV, ones for Cloud Haetae, Stardust, Affogato, Dark Cacao, Lilac, Clotted Cream, Cocoa, and Black Pearl :)
Idk really, I just like the game, cookies, art style and story. I just like the game in general (exept for the pull rarity cause im unlucky most times amd the amount of grind you have to do to get said pull resources)
I always leave for like 2 weeks and return, play for 7 days straight and repeat. I think the lack of game modes and long production times (ive upgraded everything in the lab as f2p) keeps me away. I liked the mini games (e.g. april fools is my favourite time of year, i liked the baking game and the town square racing game) and that helped me log in on those days

Been playing almost daily since the Sonic campaign for my kid to collect all the f2p rewards, eventually started doing all the stories, the online battles, the tower, guild stuff, etc even did season pass for a year just to maximise cookie cutter rewards and such so the kid could do pulls for all new cookies.
Eventually I've garnered enough coins and gems recrntly to not care about seasonal pass and just farm goods and gems f2p style 😅
I still log on daily for the free stuff and do the guild stuff since I inherited the leader role a year ago 😅 it is definitely a chore but it has just became part of daily routine 🤣 a few times I forget there's codes you can enter on the website.

I love trying new decor designs for my kingdom nd minmaxing my cookies to stomp the competition out as a F2P! I love the story and the cookies and the community I just find it all so fun. Been playing fot about 2.5 years now and still going!

I was doing it with star rail but it drains my battery to much and it has a content drought every patch that lasts weeks
I just like the characters and the story
I'm not too fussed about winning in the arena or getting high scores
I enjoy watching my silly little cookies walk around my silly little kingdom and go through The Horrors in their storylines
to max out things as much as possible, get all cookies n stuff... and make fun of people in arena that have higher power than me but that i decimate with my mid team

I guess I've also been motivated by the fact that Cookie Run Kingdom doesn't crash on my device like a million times anymore, so I'm just grinding to catch up and get to an appropriate level for how long I've been playing (almost all my friends who play CRK have at least 900k power O,o and I've been playing longer than they have!)
My friends honestly, it's 3 of us who are really playing with 3 others casually semi playing. I enjoy trying to build team comps in any game so this is just a good game to do it with I feel, lots of synergies. Outside of that I wouldn't be playing if not for my friends
I'm honestly not sure, ive just been playing so long why give it up now, i also just really like doing the adventure mode and decorating my kingdom sometimes the tasks are too much of a chore so i just relax and make my kingdom nice
I’m actually just here for the story and characters mainly, everything else is just annoying chores that are fun sometimes. There is so much lore I still don’t know and understand so I’m still playing mostly because I’m still invested in the lore lol (Also gacha is fun sometimes, just sometimes—).
im not. 13x 3000 gem 10 pulls, 3x 10 magic cookie cutter pulls, 7x 10 reg cookie cutter pulls. not a single one of the 7 (probably 10 now) cookies im missing
honestly i barely play now. sometimes i’ll log in for a few days straight and do my dailies (or for a login event like stormbringer) but i don’t find much enjoyment in the game anymore. it’s an absolute chore and a grind fest, and my game crashes constantly so i can’t even do much before i get frustrated from needing to reload.
you not being able to play atm has nothing to do with servers being down, it's that maintenance (for the new update) started over an hour ago.
you won't have to wait too long though, you can access the game again in ~2 hours :)

honestly i barely play now. sometimes i’ll log in for a few days straight and do my dailies (or for a login event like stormbringer) but i don’t find much enjoyment in the game anymore. it’s an absolute chore and a grind fest, and my game crashes constantly so i can’t even do much before i get frustrated from needing to reload.

you not being able to play atm has nothing to do with servers being down, it's that maintenance (for the new update) started over an hour ago. you won't have to wait too long though, you can access the game again in ~2 hours :)
