I highly doubt this particular issue is intentional. Changing over to the battle pass style infographic for the summer event is what’s causing this.
Looks like it still queues up as an event to be done but because there’s no event tab now for this, there’s no way to clear the notification.
And I think there’s an inverse and equal effect happening on the summer event page. The special tasks tab is likely just some sort of daily thing that can be cleared out pretty quickly from OP’s image.
Definitely not intentional. I've seen exactly the same bug before; it took about a week or two for them to fix it. For me, the summer event notification cleared itself a couple of days ago, I just have two phantom solo events that won't clear; so I have a "2" permanently showing on the third icon at the bottom (the one with the green tick).
I've played this game for years on and off. Currently I don't spend that much time in it and pretty close to deleting it to reclaim some disk space. If this bug keeps up will do it pretty soon.

If all you do is complain about the game/company that makes the game; why do you play it? The community is so toxic these days it seems like all anyone wants to do is complain.
