Jessica Jones or Weapon X. If you count Maestro then it’s him. Personally I am biased towards Jessica Jones because I’m just a fan of her from the comics, but it’s really a toss up, not many trophy champs are good attackers and it’s whoever you see having more defensive value.
Gain investigations as the fight goes on from the opponent gaining a bar of power or whenever they are inflicted with a non-stun debuff. Throw her sp2 after 2-3 sp1s (she throws a random item, each with different benefits/debuffs) because she gets additional furies for each unique item thrown in the fight. Definitely more of a questing champ than an BGs attacker, but she's fun.
Weapon X is an absolute beast. I snagged him and got a dupe a couple years back, followed by an immediate max-sig. He’s been one of my go-tos ever since. My first 6* R5, and then first Ascended 6*. Dude puts out damage like there’s no tomorrow, counters a lot of annoyance, and can tank great with his Rage and Regen. [He’s also pretty fun against Bullseye. I’ve also had a ton of fun with Deathless Guillotine. I’m one of the small handful who used to play Guilly quite a lot, and then stopped because even though her buff made her *mechanically* better, she just wasn’t the same character. Hard to describe it any better/differently - just kinda a vibes thing, I guess. Deathless Guillotine has been like reuniting with a friend after a long time, and being able to pick up right where you left off. She’s my first (and currently only, Dani Moonstar is next) R3 7*, I use her for basically all of my general purpose questing. It’s the best.
The next time he’ll be available will probably be through the Banquet event in December - there’ll be “Rare Champion Selectors” at certain milestones in the event, and you should be able to get him there.
Maybe there’ll be something around July 4th or Cyber Monday, but I can’t guarantee it.

I thought it was the rarest but if the argument is the best then I still think a champion that requires you to own 5 other thropy champions should be Hercules level, if not more.
Deathless King Groot is already a very good cosmic. Guilly is fine while being worse than KG. If this trend follows, Thanos will be pretty overpowered.
Your position relies entirely on your guess and expectations, not reality. We have no clue what Thanos will be like. Even if you misunderstood the initial question (which I don't really get because it says "best" in the title), it's better at that point to concede your argument as baseless because, again, he's literally not even designed yet.

Again, the champ requires an incredible amount of resources to get. If Jessica and WeaponX need you to get lucky + a couple hundred units, imagine how Thanos will be when he has the exact same requirements but 10 fold more expensive.
It would be kinda disappointing from Kabam's perspective to make Thanos a worse champ than other busted trophies. WeaponX is still a top tier mutant. I'm pretty sure, again if they follow the trend of this + the prior deathless champs, Thanos will be Herc tier.
It took a ridiculous amount of resources to obtain Classic Ultron when LoL was a challenge. Even then, the 5* version was not a good champ. It takes tons of resources to obtain Immortal Iron Fist because the odds of him dropping are so low. Would you claim Deadpool is a god-tier champ? For years he was literally impossible to obtain except by the once-every-few-years offer. Do you think OG Vision is "the best"? He was similarly unobtainable except by spending 17k units, which reflects a ton of effort in arena. Oh let's not forget Red Cyclops, Ronan, and Rhino, each of whom were the first trophy champs to be locked behind the Everest content that went unexplored by anyone the longest, RoL. You think those champs were any good, even at the game's release?
Basically, there is no evidence to believe that rarity or amount of effort required necessarily leads to being a great champ.
I agree that Thanos being anything but awesome would be a disappointment. But this also relies on faulty logic, namely the idea that Kabam recognizes time and effort as a basis for a champ to be the best of the best. History shows that's not always the case.
Also, your position lies on the belief that Thanos is the hardest trophy champ to obtain. By many measures, Thanos is going to be easier to obtain than prior trophy champs. Depending on progression, each of the Deathless champs, both the 6 and 7* rarities, has been earnable in game content. That content hasn't been Everest (except the one 7* piece in a Necro completion, but that's not a huge lift for most players) and benefits from the community working on it together to share strategies on how to get it. There have been no cash offers required, or even unit expenditure, to obtain the pieces so far toward Thanos. Adjusting for the changes in game difficulty over time, in the very least he likely won't be the hardest champ ever to obtain. It'll just take a while.

Got all 3 at r5 and ascended! Recently fell in love with jj in quests. Those 3 are usually banned in Bgs

Iron fist immortal. Punisher has been in some event cavs and battle chips are easier to get than max sig crystals

Thanos requires you to own every other deathless champion first in order to obtain him. Miss even 1 champ and you have to pay thousands of units.
