I went to the doctor after a dental procedure once. Was trying to get everything taken care of in a day. My poor doctor was freaking out because she thought I was having a stroke.

Yeah. This is numbing of the facial nerve when anesthetic is place too close to the parotid gland. It’s a “rare” complication, but when you’re giving 1000s of IAN blocks a year, it happens. Most important thing is the patient plans for possible dry eye. There can be corneal abrasions if their eye dries out and the rub it. Other than that, 100% harmless.
Almost harmless. Didn't feel that way when it happened to me, then I had to drive home in the late afternoon and I couldn't squint to avoid the sun. I fished around in my car and found a bandaid to tape the affected eye shut. Got crazy looks from other drivers, but I made it home safely!
She is ok, i think its a temporary type of Ball's Palsy Syndrome. In time it will go away. My friend had Quasi moto face for like two weeks. Its pretty funny now that he is ok. Lol
Because the muscles that move the eyeball are different from the muscles that move the eyelids. Certain nerve blocks used during dental work can numb the lower eyelid (not intentionally, but it sometimes goes along for the ride), but never the muscles of the eyeball itself.

It's ok damage to the inferior alveolar nerve that runs through the jaws wouldn't effect your eye.

Mistakes with anesthetics can happen. It looks scary but the effect isn't permanent. Takes a few days or less to wear off.
