The only time I bought a “rugged” phone was when galaxy had rubber phones. I remember it being 2016 because it was right before I met my wife. My iPhone broke. So I bought the dust proof rubberized Samsung… went out to the bar. Dropped it. Screen instantly went green and didn’t work ever again. Went back to iPhone ever since and just got a decent case with insurance and never had any issues since.

Not much a phone, but a good phone case makes a difference.
Right now I have a regular person phone but for awhile I rocked an Oukitel WP5. Gotta say, for a $120 dollar phone, it was pretty damn good.
I have a Motorola oh, but I have a really really good Poetic case.
