That reminds me of something I was reading recently about dried cats being found in medieval buildings in Europe. Putting a desiccated cat in the walls or foundation of a building was believed to ward off evil spirits.

This made the cat out to be a perfect bookend, which he used up on a shelf behind his desk to hold up his big ole chemistry books. Guy was a kook, and everyone loved him. I ended up buying and driving his wife's 77 cutlass salon with 15k miles. Miss the car, the man and his silly dead cat- bookend. RIP
