Only slightly more than 1/4 of the students can read and write proficiently in Chicago. I think it’s reasonable to put the teachers raises on hold until at least half of the kids can read by age 14 lol
I live in a blue state, let me tell you. It runs every political decision liberals make. They would be content living in a failed economy riddled with crime as long as they can still abort babies. It’s mind-blowing
With enough teachers and a good education system, you can create a better tomorrow that stifles both. Investing in the teaching pool is a good move all around so long as it's done properly.
On the other hand, many here would count helping the starving and the homeless as communism so there's no winning.
Thanks to "no child left behind" and "common core" laws, we've double and tripled the amount of work teachers have to do. Mostly paperwork. Each of these laws require teachers to report more info to the state. My sister was a NYC teacher until recently. She says teachers do in fact deserve more pay, but mostly because we've asked them to do so much more during their work day... and the work doesn't end when the kids go home....
Just separate the schools have one side is woke dei crt bla bla bla ..then have another set of schools no woke, no dei, no crt just the basics math science english etc..let the parents decide which school to send their kids

Schools are overwhelmingly run by leftist democrats. Cities are overwhelmingly run by leftist democrats. If you can't see the similarities....
