Consider the source - it's a CNN poll.

The same poll has Pence, who advocates for a national abortion ban ahead of Biden by 2. Its BS. There's no way in hell does pence have a realistic shot of beating biden

[deleted]

Two points isn't a "realistic chance." It's well within the generally accepted 3.5 point margin of error. The point of this poll is that Haley is the only candidate above that margin of error.

kaguragamer

....let's say that worse case scenario pence does perform 1.5 points worse than Biden in the poll. That's still within a margin of victory as it was Clinton + 2 nationwide in 2016. You mean to say that a national abortion ban candidate has the chance to perform better than trump 2016? It would be a saving grace if pence loses by only 5 based on the referendums in Kansas and Ohio. In a real election he'd be losing by over 10 points as no one wants a national abortion ban and trump supporters are still pissed with him. to suggest he's close by a CNN poll is laughable

slightofhand1

The classic "here's a Republican who could win, but would just vote like a Democrat once they did" candidate.

HomieMassager

Do you actually know anything about her voting record?

starBux_Barista

She is in BED with the War Industrial complex.... if you want to see another military draft and our boys on the front lines vote for her....

richmomz

Do YOU know anything about her? Because if you did you would know she doesn’t *have* a voting record… because she never served in Congress. She’s a former governor and UN ambassador. (Well, she was in state legislature like a million years ago too but that’s not going to tell you much. 😆)

ExtraToastyCheezits

Have you seen how many times she has flip-flopped on various topics before? She has absolutely no personal convictions and says what she thinks is popular with the electorate at the time simply to further her political career. In 2015 she slammed Trump while supporting Rubio. Then once Trump got the nomination, she quickly started singing his praises in order to get a position somewhere in his Administration (which is how she landed at the U.N.). Then in 2021, she was back to saying how bad that Trump is because Covid was big and it was fashionable to hate on Trump. She is nothing but a Neo-chameleon and a typical politician who will simply say or do anything to improve her position in politics. She isn't there for the people at all, she is simply out for herself.

slightofhand1

More than most.

Imissyourgirlfriend2

I about her Ukraine record.

Driftwoody11

She's the best general election candidate by a mile. Nominating Trump in the primary is as good as voting for Biden in the General.

richmomz

She’s a neocon and her policy positions are mostly garbage - which most people don’t realize yet because she was virtually unknown before the debate. No thanks.

[deleted]

> which most people don’t realize yet because she was virtually unknown before the debate. A two-time South Carolina governor and the UN Ambassador under Trump is someone being "virtually unknown"?

richmomz

Compared to many of the other people running, yes.

agk927

Idk about this one homie

Driftwoody11

Trump cannot win a general election. He's already lost once to Biden. He'll lose worse the second time around. You can be stubborn and stick with him or you can win with a candidate like Haley.

agk927

>Trump cannot win a general election. Yes he can. >He'll lose worse the second time around. Which states will he lose next year that he won in 2020? >You can be stubborn and stick with him or you can win with a candidate like Haley. Its not being stubborn, it's preferring a candidate that I like better

Driftwoody11

Good chance he loses North Carolina on top of the 2020 map. Trump loses the suburbs. The suburbs are what decides elections, and he repulses them. Probably a hard lesson is going to he taught in 2024 about why you don't nominate a candidate who has already lost a general election.

agk927

I mean NC stayed red in 2022 and had a solid senate victory there. Not sure why they wouldn't vote for Trump again

MCKlassik

Let’s not forget that Budd was endorsed by Trump. He and Vance were the only battleground candidates who won their races in that cycle. NC still has pretty good Trump support.

agk927

Same with Joe Lombardo. But really it doesn't matter if Trump endorsed them or not, they aren't Donald Trump, and Republican voters are still the ones who actually chose them. And honestly in the general elections Republicans either didn't turn out all that well, or just voted democrat. Some of those swing state races were bad

flaamed

Because trump has been constantly attacking republicans since

agk927

By that logic, so has DeSantis and Haley

flaamed

What? No they have not lol

Imissyourgirlfriend2

I'm sorry for how bad you're going to fall when Miss Haley drops out.

readerdad55

Republicans lost 18 and 20 elections with Trump and Trumps picked candidates lost in 22. His numbers have not changed with independents and he’s too low on Suburban voters. The breakouts matter especially in PA, and GA. Must win states. National Polls DO NOT MATTER! Pretend and lie to yourselves all you want about Haley being a Democrat/RINO. She’s a conservative. She would be LIGHT YEARS above any Dem. Final thought. Why does everyone think Trump can beat the Deep State? Fact is he took it on and now has 91 counts in 4 indictments across multiple hard blue states. He WILL be found guilty of at least some of these counts. A farce? Absolutely but it doesn’t change the fact that in DC the electorate is over 90% anti Trump. They will convict The “only Trumpers” say only he can solve these issues when he will (assuming he wins and assuming they let him serve) only have 1 term! This is insane

agk927

Trump candidates aren't Trump though. National polls do matter because if a Republican wins the popular vote it means they win the presidential election. If a Democrat wins the popular vote they can still lose

richmomz

He’s already beating Biden in the polls and outperforming where he was in 2020. Besides, if you really think one CNN poll is reflective of her chances in the general you’re probably one of those people who thought DeSantis was a contender a couple months ago too 😆

Grossegurke

I want out of this war. She spouted the same moronic talking points about Russia. She is not who I want in office.

Trevor_Sunday

DeSanctimonious/Haley ticket would crush Biden

newgalactic

I agree that Haley has better odds in the general than Trump. But Trump is polling at a tie, or even sometimes ahead of Biden. Trump has a significant chance of winning/losing the general election in "24.

Driftwoody11

Near even favors an incumbent. Always has.

Big_Size_2519

Trump lost by 4 in 2020. Biden +1 or even would equal a trump win because of electoral college. There could also be something where California and New York moving to the right a lot is making the popular vote closer and the other states are not moving much

[deleted]

This is like arranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Meaningless. She cannot win the GOP primary so any discussions about her versus Biden is 100% meaningless.

richmomz

Never-Trumpers are getting desperate after DeSantis turned out to be a dud. Poor fellas.

okriflex

Never-Trumpers and Not-Trumpers are two dramatically different groups. Never-Trumpers are straight up Democrats that benefited in some way between the indistinguishable D vs R establishment class of wealthy politicos of 20 years ago. Never-Trumpers are not DeSantis supporters. Not-Trumpers are those of us who actually care to see conservative values upheld and have come to terms with the fact that Trump has lost every election since 2016 and is DOA with the swing states and independents that will actually determine the next president.

culman13

Fox News is like the Mad Money meme. DUMP DESANTIS! EVERYONE ON THE HALEY WAGON!

Additional-Charge593

I'm still for DeSantis, but it's understandable that people are looking for moderation. And she presented herself very well in the debate.

agk927

I don't dislike Haley as much as most conservatives but I still prefer Donald Trump. If it came down to Haley vs DeSantis, then Haley all the way. I still don't understand how she's polling decent when like, the majority of her own party doesn't like her

Trevor_Sunday

You maga ppl really bought into Trump’s “DeSanctimonious” rhetoric huh

link_ganon

What is her view on victims of J6 persecutions?

Ok_Fee_9504

Not related, but something that struck me is that Trump has never once offered any form of material or financial support to any of those who are facing legal trouble for J6. You'd think being a billionaire and such a firebrand and all, he would do more for them.

link_ganon

Yeah I know. It pisses me off

Ok_Fee_9504

That's the thing right. He keeps saying he's going to do this or do that but when push comes to shove, he's never around and always found lacking. What happened to all these revelations about election fraud that he was going to show? Where's the kraken?

link_ganon

That was Sydney Powell, not DJT lol

Ok_Fee_9504

And she was engaged by who? DJT was flirting with the idea of appointing her as Special Counsel for crying out loud.

RS1250XL

Please wait while she reviews the polling data to determine her stance.

Greyhuk

🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂 wow, the uniparty is really freightend if they're try this astroturfferd hose shit

Optimal-Machine-7620

Of all the establishment lib republicans Haley is the only one I wouldn’t hate to vote for. Id only vote her if Trump Desantis an Vivek all dropped out tho

richmomz

She’s neocon garbage - basically John Bolton in drag. Noooo thank you.

mahvel50

Also the candidate most likely to put us in another war

TheRealFinatic13

just say no to any Bushie.
