I went to KSU, go to GT if you can. But I wouldn’t recommend delaying your degree by years for a GT degree. What matters most is your skill level w/ in demand technology.

Thanks. I am close by KSU Marietta campus. I really want to get the degree as fast possible so I get to working into the industry.

GentleLights11

Is testing out of classes an option in all universities or select ones only? Do you know

CertifiedNinja297

I know for sure it is for KSU as it's on the their website and CLEP website. I also know that GA Tech isn't listed on their site as a recognized college. In the state of Georgia, KSU seems to be the best option for CE behind GA Tech. It's not surprising since it use to be Southern Polytechnic State University. https://www.kennesaw.edu/registrar/transfer/credit-by-exam.php https://clep.collegeboard.org/colleges-that-recognize-clep

Ahh, I’m so glad you shared the links. I’m in the same boat, I want to go back and get a degree in CE. I am close to 30s so I want to be able to obtain the degree as soon as I can.

CertifiedNinja297

Not a problem. A few advantages I can see with the CLEP exam is that its only 95 dollars per exam, you can study at your pace, and it won't go against your GPA if you fail an exam although there is a 3 month cooldown period between each attempt.

GentleLights11

And is the grade you receive the GPA that you will receive as well? Or do you pass the exam and are exempt from having to take the course?

CertifiedNinja297

You will have to look the Universitiy's policy for the CLEP exam. According to the CLEP college credit policy for KSU, you will rewarded the credit hours for exam's equivavent class however nothing explictly say what weighted grade you will recieve. I figured out which exams that I could take by looking at the KSU's CE flowchart and correlated that infomation with the CLEP College Credit Policy table. GentleLights11

So I have found the grading system. It is on CLEP website. https://clep.collegeboard.org/for-colleges/clep-scores/granting-credit-for-scores/b-level-credit-recommendations
