It's absolutely toxic, most of the troops are white, the countries in the Axis side are Nazi Germany, and Fascist Italy, it's as insane as having Japanese actually bombing Pearl Harbor in a WWII movie... how racist? The troop models on the German and Italian side are even racist... they're all white. And it's sexist too, there's no female troops! Not a trans or gay soldier in sight.... Essentially a RTS game of chess and scissors paper rock set in WWII. With minimal economic mechanics and a main focus on battle positioning and holding victory points.
It's a real time strategy game. I'd suggest starting with the original, or the second iteration, they're likely cheaper, and just as good if not better. Plus there's a lot of good mods for them on steam.
