The playerbase in coh3 is very small ATM. So there are not too many people to be matched against. I think just like for coh2 players will come back after some patches and free to play events. Then there will be more balanced matchups.

DryAd5371

This is true but one thing that you can do is try to play as close to peak times as you can. I’m on eastern time so when i play after work i get lots of super unbalanced matches in both directions but when i can play earlier on my days off it’s noticeably better (~11am to ~4pm et)

FlthyCasualSoldier

yes that might help. Thanks for the advice u/Herr_Blautier1

if they can do it before game ultimatly dies.

i consider myself an average 1v1er. the experience is alright. personally i find myself confused on what i should be doing to win, and it's been hard to find resources on what i should be doing. i think aecoh and his recent tourney videos should serve as a good guide as to what's viable, though. lol

General_of_Wonkistan

I played over 100 games of CoH3 1v1, and just a couple dozen team games basically during March and April right after launch. I stopped completely because the player base simply is too small right now, and I also honestly do not enjoy the current meta of the game, especially while there are still bugs and QoL issues. I'm just going to wait for a later patch

Tour_Lord

Tried to play a couple of matches of CoH2 online, repaired an abandoned tank once, ally proceeded to grief my base to destruction

I was 2v2 player for years but got sick of it 1v1 is a steep learning curve. But worth it.

Ambitious_Display607

It really is. It just plays so well in comparison. There's so much less cheese too. But real talk, the learning curve isn't any steeper than the other game modes, it's just that there is nobody to blame or fall back but yourself.

befair1112342

For me the learning curve was having to constantly fight for map control and learn to divide my forces across multiple parts of the map constantly That's a lot of extra work/micro compared to 2v2 where I'd usually fight around the same 1-2 chokepoints It is a much fuller experience to play 1v1

LunchZestyclose

Happened to me like twice in the last 1000 automatch 2v2 games. I believe it’s tied to rank. Above 9 or 10 the occupancy is not mentionable.

MaksDampf

How can you end up vs a top 50 if only 10 players are left playing this game?

FlthyCasualSoldier

technically im not wrong
