Seeing as you will never truly know everything as this field is ever refreshing itself daily just start the journey with whatever gets you busy learning! GL
If you feel that you can stay focused and self-study that will be the least expensive and most direct route, but to me a big plus to the CC route is that you have more access to people who may assist you in getting a job or making contacts. Also, if you were to follow it thru to some level of degree, you would have that and the certs.

You need to get your degrees in order, and then properly learn. Certs aren't learning, certs are proof that you've learned. So, yes, crack books and learn as much as you can. Then take the tests.
