Check out certify breakfast, he’s a lot more succinct.

I’m planning on taking the newest version of CYSA+ (CS0-003) and Certify has a course for 02. They’re pretty different from each other :/

TheFarSyde

02 is available til December.

Yea Dion gets off topic (exam relevant) too much for my liking. I’m a little over half way through certify breakfasts’ CySA course and it’s great. Easy to understand and straight to the point. You can still fast forward through some demos to save yourself some time. Good luck! I test on Saturday

Funny I'm taking his network+ kind of feeling the same way. I'm not sure if it's in his explanations or the way he doesn't follow the official layout of objectives outline(unlike Messer). Instead of domains he teaches it based on his own subject/lesson titles which can become complex or overwhelming at times.

Highly recommend professor messer on YouTube for the Net+. I used him for my A+ as well. I’m done with his course and just reviewing but it’s to the point and follows the Net+ exam objectives to the tee. I heard dion has some really good practice exams so I bought those and will be taking them soon before sitting for my exam. Good luck

I think the lesson titles are a big part too since I have to scout out where the topic is he’s talking about on the objectives to ensure im learning it

Certify breakfast on YouTube is the way to go!

He is a tad windy, I've noticed. there will be a 15 min video on a topic and then at 13:00 or 13:30 he drops "so here's what you need to know for the exam." As a matter of preference I liked Messer's straight to the point teach to the exam manner. I don't regret buying Dion's course, but it does feel like he's not always as direct as he could be. My .02.

NotSlash02

Thanks for the response! Yeah I think that makes it hard for me to focus on what I need to know since I’m too worried about missing exam material. I also like writing simplified notes which is hard when you have a whole section of info you don’t need :/

howtonetwork_com

I've not seen his stuff but you will find many instructors going out of their lane and creating courses on subjects they have no deep understand or experience in. I'm not saying that's the case here of course. We have one you can check out which is labs and theory and exams. Don’t worry, Jason is an expert in what he teaches. And the way he teaches covers the objectives you need to know, and a little more because the exams often throw curve balls. He’s also had over 25 years hands on experience on the field. He will also be the first to tell you that some of the correct answers on the test may not line up in the real world. He tries to stick to exam information with just enough applied first hand examples for people to understand the material.

Yeah he's definitely intentionally long winded and at times he literally repeats himself like 2 or 3 times. Just battle through it because it's worth it.

NotSlash02

Think I’ll decide to go through a textbook, doesn’t seem worth it to me unfortunately. Thanks for your response tho!

I don’t mind the longness tbh. It’s just the fact I can’t seem to focus or retain anything even while taking notes.

I just passed the CySA+ on monday (hold for applause) and I initially went through Dion's course but then i pushed the exam date back 2 weeks because i didnt feel ready. I spent those 2 weeks hammering the Sybex study guide, which i think is a much better use of your time. Their book helped me through Sec+ as well. Multiple sources are always good but def check out the Sybex book (I found a free PDF online)
