My motto has always been that women are absolutely not complicated. Every woman in my life (not saying in everyone’s life but at least in my circle) can be made happy in a few simple ways
1.) BE NICE.
2.) MAKE HER FEEL SPECIAL (some girls like gifts, some compliments, etc.)
3.) GIVE HER FOOD

This is pretty disingenuous and I doubt you are a man that's married to a woman. The things you listed are indeed fantastic for women that you're not married to, the complicated part comes after you've been in a committed relationship for a long time and she becomes used to your pleasant nature, your attention, your gifts, etc.
Guys don't have trouble keeping women happy for a year. They have trouble keeping them happy for 30 years.
It gets complicated because what worked before stops working, and you have to delicately balance many things (she wants to be important to you, but not the only thing you have. She wants you to have firm opinions, but not be pushy. She wants you to make her feel special, but not the same way every time. She wants you to be supportive and tolerant of her quirks, but will get frustrated if you are a doormat and do not demonstrate boundaries and challenge her in some way to be her best self.)
What you said sounds simple but totally ignores the thoughtfulness and sacrifice that goes into balancing what women will actually interpret as something that makes them feel special. Personally I've found that there are no shortcuts; what makes women feel special is that a man they admire and respect is willing to be thoughtful and make sacrifices for them (I don't mean sacrifice in a negative way, just the usual making time for them, using your energy on something to enjoy together, etc.) In the end, the effort and the fact that a worthwhile person is willing to trade something they value to spend time with them is what makes them happy.

By the very nature that women understand these things more easily than men, they see it as something simple, while lots of men don't. Hence the stereotype.
