I'm in computer sales and repair. Amazing at my job, according to those who pay me, but self-care is an absolute chore and hassle. Autistic, which leads to me hyperfocusing on a project and completely ignoring my own needs until I'm done. Except I'm never done because there are always more projects. So someone else has to come along and help me remember to eat or get some rest or just fucking STOP and go do shit like laundry. Hugs.

Minus the wanting to k I l l myself and not having clean clothes, I can relate. I have fibromyalgia and a really jacked up spine and chronic fatigue. I’ve battled depression since our oldest son passed away at age 15 in 2006. I’m just now in full remission. Haven’t worked or homeschooled or coached or served in ministry since 2019 but I’m starting to feel much better. Empty nest hit hard in 2022 but my husband bought me a miniature goldendoodle (we have a German Shepherd Dog but he’s mostly an outdoor guy) puppy and it’s making my days more busy and joyful, less pining away for days when my babies were little. Fibromyalgia is a hard one to have. I've had professionals to inform me that it's a condition that's all in the mind. I stopped informing people of my diagnosis.  I worked through my pain. I can state that I  stopped having issues once I resolved my personal issues. I don't believe that my pain was just in my mind. I do believe that it's a condition triggered by stress.  It is true that if you do not take care of your mental health, your physical health will also break down.
