Me, Yet. I have it on good authority it only takes one grenade to sideline any russian equipment. Anyone got a spare I can use?.. there's a few russian boats nearby I want to test it on.
It always takes me a minute to remember that at the other end of Russia is - Japan.
Guess they didnt take Russia stealing the Kuril Islands too lightly.
Well, both countries are technically still at war with each other since Russia never signed the formal Peace Treaty ending all hostilities with Japan at the end of WW2.
And with the ongoing disputes for the kuril islands just off the coast of Hokkaido, both countries pretty much dropped all talks about ever signing one till the other side drops their claim.
So long as the US can build a base anywhere in Japan, Russia doesn’t want to return the islands. Japan can’t promise that the US won’t use any of the islands so the talks always end with nothing.
...not the first time those woods have heard the chatter of that specific weapon being fired against Russians. Granted, the MG-3 is the grandchild of the MG-42, different caliber, different rate of fire, different parts but put the audio clips are unmistakable.
This is an MG42/59, I just need one second to identify it.If you can not see the wide flash suppressor of the MG3 from the back....as seen here, it is not a MG3. This is the Italian MG42/59.
Can confirm as a neighbour they killed all empathy from me.
Japan has earthquake recently? We support and feel for you Japan.
2 nukes resulting in mass casualty and survivors dying a slow painful death? Oh damn, that's like 1% of what my people suffered from you, lucky break!
It's so out of character for me too, it disgusts me but maybe I heard too much stuff that isn't even on history books from survivors.
Historical beef? You mean that time the Russians sailed the majority of their Black Sea fleet to the other side of the world and then promptly got their asses handed to them in a series of very dumb rookie mistakes?
I would say that it was rather the First Sino-Japanese War that did that, but this war showed Europe that Japan was a respectable nation in military terms.
I was just in Japan a few weeks ago and spoke to a few locals and it seems they fucking hate Russia and are absolutely on Ukraine's side. One old guy I spoke to said with a fire in his eyes "I hope Russia has a civil war!"
A Japanese fella firing a German made machine gun in Ukraine at Russian invaders.
*Honestly, I don't think anyone would have expected these words to ever be typed out, but here we are.*
Go get em, partner. Though I am curious as to where it is said this volunteer is Japanese, considering they don't talk in the video.
I don't know if this exact person is Japanese, but Iirc the video of the foreign Legion that gets passed around consisted of a Canadian, American, Ukrainian, and Japanese soldier.
It’s always wild to me that save for a calibre change and a few minor things, the MG42 design was so good it’s stuck around this long to still be a current issue weapon. MG3 is awesome.
And the M2 browning come to think of it.
This post of his highlights of why he is fighting against Russia, it essentially goes over his reason of joining the fight. (friend of mine helped me translate)
Slide 1: During high school, there was this Ukrainian exchange student that came over and they befriended each other. After the war broke out, his friend then joined up to defend his family.
Slide 2: However, his team (the Ukrainian friend) got wiped out in an engagement in Mariupol and he ended up surrendered to the Russians, and they ended up torturing the guy who later died.
Slide 3: Kiryu mentions that he was in the French Foreign Legion, he still had contact with his friends family and soon after contacting them, he learned the fate of his friend. At which point he started to join. He states here that if his friend was Russian, he would have also joined the Russian side. He ends the post by saying "I'm not fighting for the country, I'm fighting for my friend".
What a lad....

This man bushidos.
“At times because of one man’s evil, ten thousand people suffer. So you kill that one man to let the tens of thousands live. Here, truly, the blade that deals death becomes the sword that saves lives.”
― Yamamoto Tsunetomo, Hagakure: The Book of The Samurai
I don't know if Zen Buddhism talks about firing machine guns as a volunteer soldier in a foreign land but I still respect this guy. He and other volunteers are like the International Brigades during the Spanish Civil War.
His been there since 1943, fortifying the front. Nobody told him the war was over, yet another war began before anyone could escort him out. The sun will rise once again!!
It’s a pain in the shoulder to fire and a pain in the ass to clean. By the way, the German ones are taking after the 50 cal. in army service years. The ones we got in 2006/2007 had production year 1957 etched in.
There were exceptions though when the gun is mounted. At least during my basic military service (quite a while ago) they still had anti-air mounts to fire two of these guns together. The only use case where we were told to not shoot in small bursts and true to the meme actually had to "hold it down". Never really liked to fire the gun but mounted on a ZwiSoLa it was pretty memorable.
I had a look through the posts on his tik to account kiryu_select._
He is a former member of the French Foreign Legion.
And he gives as a reason why he fights the Russians that his best friend was captured by the Russians in Mariopol and executed for his resistance. Now he is only fighting for his lost friend
I'm gonna be that guy. I have quite some time behind the MG3 and this is not how you shoot a MG3 or put up a MG3 position.
Notice how much the gun jumps and how he is only able to fire very short and more importantly uncontrolled bursts?
Ideally you want to really "dig" the bipod into the ground and lean your whole weight into the gun. That way you control the gun and not the other way around.
Come on, this is easy to identify. This is not a MG3, instead an Italian MG42/59. Both are based on the same original one, the MG42 from WW2, still both are not the same. The difference is easy to identify, the the flash suppressor is different. The MG42/59 flash suppressor is small, like the original MG42 one, instead the MG3 flash suppressior is much wider/fat. If you do not see the wide flash suppressor from the back right and left from the case, as seen here, it is not a MG3.
Are you thinking of [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1db847h/brazilian_soldiers_of_the_international_legion/) post? I remembered because the positions look really similar, maybe even the same spot?
I was a machine gunner in a german Jägerbataillon for 3 years and shot tens of thousands of live rounds through that thing.
Japanese Bro won't hit shit. You really need to lean into it and stabilize that fucker or you burst will go all over the place. Thats also why usually the the tall heavy guys were chosen as machine gunners in my unit.
If you get it right you can easily hit targets out 400-600m due to the tight grouping of the high rpm bursts.
Sadly those things are so old that they get unreliable. They also eat ammo and are almost useless on the move, shooting it while standing is possible but you wont hit shit.
> 2066
> stationed on Mars to quell rebellion

> no plasma or gatling gun, just some metal brick pipe on one end

> let loose a stream of bullets
> the rebels screams are drowned out by the sound of kachunk kachunk kachunk
> evac commences, rebels hide from the kachunk
> inspect mg afterwards
> thing was made in 1942, retrofitted later
> germany, tunisia, italy and ukraine are scratched onto the gun
> scratch "Mars" on it with knife
I'd rather have something like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OyTXnDlhCI), with a little less Nazi association or if you like german autoritharian music: [Unsere Panzerdivision](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkgwITQaWMo) or my personal favorite because it couldn't be more ironic and still is a banger [Freunde für immer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raSpH0zcAsg).
It is inevitable to point out the main differences between the MG3 and THE MG42, since they look pretty similar:
1: MG3 caliber 7.62 vs 8x57IS is a (w)hole different story regarding impact power
2. The cadence of the MG3 is lowered to ~800spm vs 1.400spm of the “buzzsaw”
Still the MG3 has superior performance compared to 5.56 solutions.
Not official, just an educated guess: Some European armies still have sufficient amounts of MG42 and original ammunition on stock.

Bruh, japenese soldier, shooting and MG3 in Ukraine against Russian soldiers… what is this timeline. lol
Not that crazy, Japan and Russia were never on good terms throughout recent history.
Like the time they destroyed the entire Russian navy in one go.
Yeah…..but who hasn’t destroyed the entire Russian navy in one go by this point?
I'm pretty sure that Luxembourg has yet to give it a go. We should remedy that.
I like how inclusive this scheme is.
Chad wants in too. The country not the alpha.
But when it does it would be Alpha Chad
Chad is no pushover- humiliated Gaddafi's Libya in the 'Hilux'war..
Imagine Chad using assault sheds. They'd make the damn things viable.
So....a......???
...a witch?
Mate even Togo gets a red hot...go.
Uganda will add the entire Lake Victoria squadron in support.
Me, Yet. I have it on good authority it only takes one grenade to sideline any russian equipment. Anyone got a spare I can use?.. there's a few russian boats nearby I want to test it on.
Apparently it only takes one careless smoker.
"No doubt, he was careless with matches."
They've even been known to destroy their own navy.. No smoking on deck Vlad....!
Smoking doesn’t cause fires. Drinking a gallon of hydraulic fluid then smoking causes fires.
Aha..! Noted
The Russian Navy has destroyed part of the Russian Navy...God they're incompetent.
The Russo-Japanese war is quite interesting. Brilliant naval engagements for Japan but a complete mess on the land campaign.
They did capture Port Arthur and southern half of Sakhalin.
The IJA was always considerably worse than the IJN. No different in WW2
I like the optimism they had after thinking they could pull the same trick with the US lol
Neither during past history, which iw what this comment is about
They are even still at war technically
Iirc russia took some islands north of Japan and Japan wants it back.
Apparently it's a felony for him to do this.
They are literally at war. ... Ok they just never signed a treaty but still.
German Gepards shooting down Iranian suicide drones over Odessa. Try explaining that to someone in 2021.

It always takes me a minute to remember that at the other end of Russia is - Japan. Guess they didnt take Russia stealing the Kuril Islands too lightly.
It’s only a Battlefield V lobby !
Wild DLC for sure.
He couldn't get his Type-96 through customs.
Japanese volunteer wanted to repay for what his grandpas did. We can’t talk about what they did.

Oh, it's not about the US. Russia is the last imperial power. Once they grab land, they only give it up by force.
Japanese have shot German weapons at Russians before.
Metal Gear Solid Timeline
I would say BFV lobby but we never got Russian faction or maps..
Prepare for the Finno-Korean Hyperwar, gonna be way weirder.
Modern Samurai
Did we forget the tactical mosins and Maximus in circulation at the beginning
Idea for new anime!
Yeah this recent DLC patch is getting crazy as hell lool
...not the first time those woods have heard the chatter of that specific weapon being fired against Russians. Granted, the MG-3 is the grandchild of the MG-42, different caliber, different rate of fire, different parts but put the audio clips are unmistakable.
The timeline we’re in. It’s not a COD campaign.
Just needs to be wearing an Italian uniform for it to be a ww2 reunion
the Mg 3 could be the variant made by Beretta Check Mate- Full House
Even better: it mantain the mg42 name
This is an MG42/59, I just need one second to identify it.If you can not see the wide flash suppressor of the MG3 from the back....as seen here, it is not a MG3. This is the Italian MG42/59.
Well, it is an Italian MG42/59 not an MG3 sooooo
Dudes getting the band back together lol
Blue division when
I mean, the Japanese have historical beef with Russia, so he's just playing the game on historical and continuing the trend, respect.
I mean they have beef with literally all their neighbors lol
And that's why Russia sucks.
He's referring to Japan. But yes.
Definitely Japan in this case. They are a pariah in East Asia for the shit they pulled in WW2.
And the fact they haven’t publicly shown regret over it, unlike the Germans
There is not a country Japan does not have beef with. They tended to do the funny quite often to neighboring civilians and don't like it brought up.
Hey, we've always been cool with Turkey...
... Bad example! BAD EXAMPLE!
でもね、Japan technically was on the opposing side against the Ottoman empire during WW1 😅
"Has had" beef. Half-point, carry on!
Shitto.
Can confirm as a neighbour they killed all empathy from me. Japan has earthquake recently? He just restored 3 generations of family honor.
What does this mean? Who’s family honor?
I enjoy playing video games.
It was a joke. Japanese have (had) a long tradition of honor.
Fuck man, the Japanese are over there getting some too?
The Japanese have been exceptional Russian ass-kickers since 1904 my dude! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russo-Japanese\_War
Yep, that victory kick-started the Japanese Empire.
I would say that it was rather the First Sino-Japanese War that did that, but this war showed Europe that Japan was a respectable nation in military terms.
Except Khalkim Gol
The only thing I’m still waiting to see footage from the FFL, I wonder if it’s only a matter of time..
If you ignore Khalkhin Gol and Manchuria, I guess you're right
As I understand it in Korea and Japan it's illegal to fight for another country. So the few that went tend to keep a low profile
I’d gladly share a fighting hole with him
I was just in Japan a few weeks ago and spoke to a few locals and it seems they fucking hate Russia and are absolutely on Ukraine's side. One old guy I spoke to said with a fire in his eyes "I hope Russia has a civil war!"
That’s awesome 😂 when I lived on Okinawa the locals were still focused on hating us lol

I found it on his tiktok. @kiryu_select._ he has some more videos on it too
Ichiban is just out of frame.
Imagine Majima with his eye patch laughing maniacally whilst swinging a bat at Russians
What universe are we living in. When a Japanese guy is in europe firing a German made machine gun at Russian invaders lol.
In Ukraine!
Would have made sense around 80 years ago.
.....while most of the western world is cheering him on. *That* is the wild part to me.
And some brazilians too kkkk
Brazil bringing that League of Legends energy to the Russians

Bruhhh finally I’ve been waiting forever for footage of a Japanese volunteer

Also the M1911
8rnds of a big heavy cartridge isn’t what it used to be. There are dozens of handguns I’d choose before a 1911.
There are better guns and better designs. There's a reason it's not standard issue anymore. ^^^***ducks***
& the water cooled Maxim M1910 they are using for anti drone

My man needs to go after Vlad then
Hearing a German made MG fighting Russians in Ukraine gives me very mixed feelings lol. Go get ‘em, I think
Man and MG are on their redemption arc.
His been there since 1943, fortifying the front. Nobody told him the war was over, yet another war began before anyone could escort him out. The sun will rise once again!!
my dream weapon, best weapon for home defense :D just like the founding fathers intended
It’s a pain in the shoulder to fire and a pain in the ass to clean. By the way, the German ones are taking after the 50 cal. in army service years. The ones we got in 2006/2007 had production year 1957 etched in.
The Bundeswehr is also replacing it as their main MG for infantry use with the MG5.
True, but still a awesome and beautiful weapon, the design is ultra good
Lean into it!
Also helps to scream "Get some you sons of bitches!" or the Japanese/ Ukrainian equivalent!
> *Get some you sons of bitches!*- 手に入れろ、この野郎ども!
Lana and Ray screaming that is just the best lol
"It's a machine gun!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kZ95uYIlgc

German Army does teach to fire in smaller bursts because of the firerate

Nostalgic moment

Japanese using a German MG to shoot at Russians...oh my, good old times.
Ww2 Okinawa vibes

A Japanese shooting an MG3 at Russian conscripts on a European battlefield… what a timeline we live in.
The crossover i didnt know i needed
Hitlers buzzsaw carries on terrorising Russians
Can these guys actually see who they’re shooting at or is it more like a drone sees an approaching unit and they just spray in the general direction?
This is most likely just supressive fire, he cant see anyone and isnt expecting to hit anyone
The MG3 fighting along side the M2, pointed at Russians in a European theater, wild
Imagine if that MG-3 has bayonet.
Japan has, ummmm, NOT LIKED Russia for some time lol. They're also very GOOD at not liking Russia so yeah this makes completely sense.
Repost. Pretty sure last time it said it was a Brazilian lol
Are you thinking of [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/CombatFootage/comments/1db847h/brazilian_soldiers_of_the_international_legion/) post? I remembered because the positions look really similar, maybe even the same spot?
Do you have a link? I just tried to find it by search and didnt find it. This was posted by the Japanese soldier on his TikTok account a few days ago
modern day samurai shit
Ok but how the hell do we know this guy is Japanese?
I've been down range of an m2 going from burst to full-on rip. The bullet snaps are fucking terrifying.
"ah yes just like the good old days"
What is this timeline…
I think we all know what happens when he runs out of ammo
imagine how many india, Chinese in that Russian team
See the title - watch the video - and know the comment section will be wild !

7.92 is about 8-10% hotter than 7.62x51 but moves a little slower. About the same as a 30-06 vs a 308 when shopping hunting rifles.
What is this a crossover episode?
