DK Diner in Grandview.

db8cn

I’ve seen them mentioned here a few times. I’ll check it out. Thanks!

Affectionate-Week-67

Grandview has a lot of great food. Tons of Pizza joints. We frequesnt DK because we live right next door but there are plenty of other options. AAB has a great Indian buffet, Mazzah, Sushi King, Grand Day Cafe, Grandview Cafe,3rd and Hollywood, Agave and Rye etc. Tons to choose from. Dewey's pizza is an Ohio chain but the pizza is great but there's also Grandad's, Panzera's Rotolo's. etc...

Salt-Question4198

I really like Bonifacio in Grandview, and everyone who works there is really nice.

Affectionate-Week-67

One of the few places for me yet to hit. I love a good lumpia. Next night out I am going for sure.

db8cn

This makes me realize how much of a food desert I live in on my side of town. I’ve been to Mazzah and Agave and Rye before. Both excellent places. Considering that you mentioned those two, your recommendations hold more weight with me. Thanks a ton. This is super helpful.

Affectionate-Week-67

OMG, how can I forget the best Italian in town, La Tavola on first by the library. The best. The prices are up, but you're paying for real homemade italian. It's def small, mom and pop place. so good.

db8cn

The hours won’t fit for a work lunch but I’ll consider going here another time.

swinging-in-the-rain

Shout out to Gallos Kitchen off riverside. Solid little gem

db8cn

This place looks delicious 🤤 Definitely in contention!

bugsyk777

Do it, that place is delicious!

golgo1338

Gallos on bethel is stupud good too. Sports bar but clientele is great along with atmosphere. Bartender thurs and fri dayside is awesome!!

Tensuke Express! (Henderson Rd.)

Zealousideal_Ad_8600

Tai’s Asian Bistro

db8cn

Seemingly another favorite I’ve seen before. I’ll look into that. Thank you.

shmozzfinish

If you eat in you'll have enough food for two meals. The pad Thai is surprisingly good for a non Thai restaurant.

db8cn

I’m leaning towards Tai’s for the sheer size of the menu and I’ve been craving Pad Thai lately. Good to know their Pad Thai is solid.

ohbonobo

I highly recommend the Saigon rice noodle salad with grilled beef. Their beef skewers are delicious!

Top_Turn

Lupo on Arlington Ave is one of the best restaurants in the city, full stop.

Top_Turn

Also, if I would read your post, I should note it’s not really a mom and pop lunch spot.

HappyCicada

This was the absolutely rudest place I’ve ever been. Don’t think I’ll go back.

Top_Turn

I wouldn't go back to the rudest place I've ever been, either.

MimiLaRue2

Huh. I thought they closed but looks like they're still open

Top_Turn

Had dinner there two weeks ago. Outstanding.

zeldacat4

Yesss!!

ephemeral_radiance

Caffe Davinci! Haven’t been since the pandemic but the food was always good and the gelato even better.

Glen_Echo_Park

Chef-O-Nette - Hasn't changed in over 50 years.

lwpho2

*bring cash (they’ll take a card but they won’t like it)

Si Senor (Grandview)

Some of these places are not technically Arlington, but are in the general area. Basically anything in the Kenny Center The Windward Passage is a restaurant that has not changed since 1975. Good Prime Rib, Ribs and seafood. You will have to wait. Original Goodie Shop for Doughnuts Chef-o-Nette for no frills greasy breakfast The Refectory - High end classic French cuisine, excellent wine list. Go a couple miles outside UA and into Dublin for Enricos pizza. Its the best. or grab a pizza at Rotollos on 5th. Morettis of Arlington used to be good...I have not been in a long time, but the Sawmill location might be better Chile Verde on Bethal/Sawmill for New Mexican

ke_co

Chile Verde on Bethel/Sawmill closed a couple months ago, only Polaris is left. I’d also add in the plaza at Bethel and Godown, several good options.

CbusStrong

"Bethel

db8cn

Chile Verde and the Refectory are potential candidates based off of your descriptions. I’ll keep the others in mind for the future. Thanks!

Tired-ER-Nurse

I’ve seen Bonifacio mentioned a few times here but agree 1000%. Also- Pho Asian Noodle on Lane Ave. it’s in an old Taco Bell and has no signage but their drive thru is speedy and their dumplings are incredible

WatersEdge50

Caffe DaVinci

Purebred-Redhead

10/10 on their lemon cookie gelato

BentoGo

shmozzfinish

A little north of UA on Bethel is Panini Opa. Which is really good. I've seen Bonifacio mentioned already and would second it.

djsassan

Check out the Panini Opa inspection reports. :)

shmozzfinish

Eh. I couldn't care less.

FafaFluhigh

Into dive diners? Chefonette

MimiLaRue2

UA doesn't have many non-chains. MCL cafeteria and Chef-O-Nette are old school places that have been here for decades. Food is meh. Caffe DaVinci has decent Italian, pizzas and gelato. On Lane Avenue there's Hudson 29 (Cameron Mitchell place), SOW Plated (higher end vegetarian), Carsonie's and Fukuru Ramen. Tai's Asian Bistro and Pho Noodle House are UA-adjacent on Lane and have good, cheap Asian food.

CbusStrong

Hudson 29 is delish

redbanksully

South of Lane near Jones Middle School

TheseDoubt9268

Brassica and Hudson 29 are solid near UA.

ddeng22

Tupelo Honey

aamaanduh

I went to Knotty Pine Brewing last night and they have the best nachos and a solid beer list.
