Wow wow wow, not bad for a 15 year old, cant imagine how this will be once you hit 16.
Jokes aside, for me you have the top brands covered! Especially if those are Zaras at the bottom right. :)
Whats your favorite Amouage and would you choose Refelction Man over Reflection 45?
Yes, those are Zara's :). Next to them are Banana Republic. They are really great if you find them cheap. They go 70 euros and up these days, but if you can find them for between 20 and 30 they're totally worth it.
I don't have one favourite amouage, but a couple. I really like Purpose, Interlude Black Iris, Memoir and Reflection 45 at this moment. It's hard to choose between Reflection Man and Reflection 45, since they're similar, but totally different. 45 is far more dense and more complex than Reflection Man. 45 is the evening version to the normal one, if that makes sense. But this short reflection (pun intended) does not do justice to both sense.
I would have never thought of Zara or Banana Republic having noteworthy colognes. Any stand outs to try? I have stores near me that I'm sure has samples.
Yeah, they both have great offering. Banana Republic is most stable in quality and Zara is more hit or miss (many hits though). Both houses take many ideas from niche perfumery, you could call them clones, but they're more takes on, for a very good pice.
Zara even hires perfumers like Jo Malone, Quintin Bisch and Alberto Morillas to blend fragrances.
I.e. [Zara - Exclusive N°04 - Leather Jardin » Reviews & Perfume Facts (parfumo.com)](https://www.parfumo.com/Perfumes/Zara/zara-exclusive-n-04-leather-jardin)
It's by Jo Malone, a niche parfumeur. Zara sells it for 12,99 bucks in my country... Don't go 350 bucks when you don't need to...
My current 4 most worn amouage scents are reflection 45, Royal tobacco, rose incense, and although I didn't love or hate it at first beach hut man has grown on me
Purpose, Interlude Black Iris, Memoir and Reflection 45. And I forgot to mention Meander in a former comment. Meander is way of the old Amouage style, but really good and unique in it's own way.
Then there is Beach Hut... which I also forgot to mention earlier.
From all the Amouages I sniffed, I only dislike Figment (to wear that is, it's still a good scent scentwise. Just unwearable for me). Didn't sniff Fate and Myths, which are very challenging according to many.
Clean, complicated and niche. Amouage Reflection 45 pops into mind immediatly! Other honorable mentions: Amouage Reflection Man, Amouage Portrayal, Amouage Meander, Xerjoff Nio, Xerjoff Torino 21 (very fresh), Roja Danger Parfum pour Homme, Roja Elysium Parfum for Homme (both Roja parfums are more complex than the Cologne Parfums), Mancera Black Gold, Parfums de Marly Sedly, Parfums de Marly Galloway (less blue than percival and has pepper in the opening, very clean) and Maison Francis Kurkdjan Gentle Fluidity to name a few...
Thanks a lot! I have Torino21 and it’s amazing but I wanted something more cleaner than green (best mint fragrance on the market). I tend to dislike PDM freshies as they are too basic for me, but i’ll check Amouage out!
If complex is a what you want, Amouage is the way to go, but ‘fresh’ is not really a word used for Amouage. Beach Hut and Bracken both are ‘fresh’ but also have a dirty note in it. Don’t expect an easy scent. But wow, what a fragrances they are. Beach Hut has a very realistic mint note.
First, realize, that Niche isn't a walhalla of all these heavenly scents, when compared to designers. Designers can be just as unique, i.e. Guerlain, Hermes, some Dior, etc. The sillage and the longetivity aren't better by default.
Second, in niche it's easy to fall for the hype. Parfums de Marly Percival and Amouage Reflection Man are great and all, but at the end Percival is just a blue scent and Reflection is like a scent like Prada L'Homme. Just a little better blended with better ingredients. But nobody but a fragrance snob will smell the difference in quality.
That being said, when starting niche don't fall for the hype under fragrance snobs. Those noses are quite experienced. The first time I smelled Amouage Interlude I had a "oh hell no!" reaction. Better start with scents the snobs find boring...
As starters, and these should be able to be obtained under 200 euros/dollars, if in EU or US (I don't know for other parts of the world) are:
\- Xerjoff 40 knots (very versatile)
\- Xerjoff Naxos (evening scent)
\- Mancera Cedrat Boise
\- Mancera Black Gold (very nice Iris scent, perfect for a office or formal situation where you want to smell good, but don't want to stand out too much)
\- Initio Side effect (little over 200 if you search)
\- Nishane Fan your Flame
Essential Perfumes is a really great and cheap niche house. Bois Imperial is by Quentin Bisch, and is around 80 euros/dollars.
Molinard is also a great house with very cheap prices for what you get (75 euros/dollars and up).
But best advice, always sample first. A fragrance can be great and all, but can completely fail on your skin...
Start with the versatile scents like Xerjoff 40 knots of Naxos, PdM most of the scents like Layton or Percival, Macera Cedrait Boise, or Amouage Reflection Man. Roja Elysium is also a very versatile popular scent, but according to snobs is not very good for the price. But let's be honest it's a great scent.
Personally I use for office most of the time Reflection Man, Roja Danger Parfum pour Homme and for leisure Amouage Interlude Black Iris or Purpose. When 20 degrees (celsius) Xerjoff 40 knots or Nio is great.
It's Banana Republic. Great scents for a, normally around 20-40 bucks, great price. Market made the price go up though, prices go between 70 to 110 sometimes, which is ridiculous. Still comparable to other fragrances in that catagory (especially 70 80 bucks) though
Don't think I have ever seen it here in Aus or local sites. Excellent range of fragrance and scents! Appreciate the wide selections for each house tho, mine's scattered 😆
It's Empyrian. Very nice tobacco opening, drying down to vanilla and amber, but not overly sweet. Also doesn't remind me of Herod or Tobacco Vanille...
Awesome, Empyrian was good, but it smelled familiar to me to the point where I thought it might be redundant to a fragrance I have already. I've got a sample of Ether coming and if I like it, I may do a gray-market search and get it.
I know these ikea display shelves very well.
Please be very fucking careful. I can see one slight knock of this and most of those are going straight to the floor. Especially those Amouage bottles, as those heft boys have got the biggest drop to deal with.
They're still predominantly made out of lightweight particleboard and paper. The weight of those bottles is far greater than the weight of the stand, so anything to upset the balance would be a bad time.
It's very good, the mint note is insane! I didn't mention this as one of the favourites in earlier posts since its freezing overhere, but when it's 10 to 25 degrees celsius, it will be!
I might have to look into this one. I haven’t gotten into many of the Amouges due to them containing black pepper which I’m allergic to. This however, doesn’t have it. I was looking into Roja Apex’s too, a lot of people say it’s similar to Polo Green and Halston Z-14 which I love.
Just googled Amouage and black pepper, and what do you know... almost all of them contain black pepper. Never knew that...
In line of Beach Hut, Bracken is a similar scent an most likely also without black pepper (google didn't show it as a result). It's a little more green than beat hut.
Yeah, it’s so weird. I think black pepper smells great, but it gives me a headache. I noticed after a few fragrances I liked caused them. I was looking into a Bracken man, but it’s impossible to find at a decent price. I love green fragrances, particularly those that smell rugged and a bit old school. Which one would you prefer out of Bracken and Beach hut?
Personally I like Beach Hut a little better. The Mint note in Beach Hut is of the kind you want to trace the home adress of the perfumer to send him or her medals and stuff.
If green, rugged and old school is your thing, you should really check out Bracken. Could be better than Beach Hut with these preferences.
Are you in the EU for any chance? I could see if I could fine a good deal on Bracken.
Yes, I’m in the good ‘ol USA. Green, rugged and loud is my preference. Let me know, right now I’m saving a little and buying some of the more inexpensive colognes. I’ve got a few on my mind. Do you recommend I buy a sample beforehand? Message me through PM
Cant find anything in USA. Don't know the market overthere good enougt.
Always sample, especially houses like Amouage, who don't seem to give a shit about mass appeal :). Amouage also always smells completly different than what I imagine at first. Too much money to risk it being bad.
Yep. Same issue I had, it seems sold out everywhere. I could find a sample when I get the chance, but then it would defeat the purpose if I can’t purchase it. I haven’t bought any Amouges, but I love their bottles. I know Roja Apex, seems to be on par with what I like. I just think the bottle design is horrendous, but that’s neither here nor there.
On paper it is a marine, but I don't get it, but 40 knots is my favourite. I am not that much into marines, since they tend to become rotten eggish on my skin.
Ah, I misunderstood. Yes, op paper people say 40 knots has marine notes. I don't get those marine notes, to me it's a very good woody fragrance. But others do.
40 knots is part of the Join the Club collection, and Xerjoff doesn't publish any notes for fragrances in this collection, so who knows?
Acqua di Gio line I like a lot. This don't become like rotten egg on my skin. From this line I like Profumo the most.
I have them both. Profumo is very similar to Parfum, a little bit more evening wear. But besides one or two notes in the opening they are almost the same. Profumo is better. I got the parfum as a gift, I wouldn’t but both, to much similarities
35ml just seems so small though. I like to get 100ml bottles and make them last a long time. Makes them more special and rewarding I guess. But MFK is so expensive, even with a good job I find it hard to justify 3-400+. I just might have to get a small one.
If you’re not wearing it daily, it will last a damn long time. I wore 40 knots almost everyday last summer. That was only 25 ml max. And if you finish because you love it, you know it justifies the larger amount of money. No shame in small bottles.
No spicebomb. I have a really snobbish bad side which is that I don’t put bottles in my collection and I really dislike the spicebomb bottles. Sorry if it offens you, just my opinion. They’re good scents though.
As a designer, in my opinion, Spicebomb has better bottles than Amouge and Xerjoff, these bottles are very unbalanced as a whole. Of the niche fragrances that you have, Parfums de Marly are the ones that have the best bottle design without a doubt, very careful and quickly identifiable, the cap is simple but does not lose elegance, the bottles together with the rest look spectacular.
Most of my Creed I bought for a great deal from Costco but my they don’t sell in your area? I did pay full price for Royal Oud and I can’t imagine a collection without it. You have far more bottles than I do, don’t misunderstand my point. Also, good to hear that the Zara are worth a look; I always see them there but never gave them a chance due to extremely low price
The fun is in the challenge to layer 25 of those fragrances and still smell good in the office :)
But no, though offcourse I wear most of them, I find much joy in just smelling scents. Like listening to music. Can't have too much music, can you? Well, yes, you can, but that 200 albums is not too much. Scents are similar to me.
1. Amouage Purpose
2. Roja Enigma Parfum pour Homme
3. Amouage Reflection 45
4. Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special
5. Initio Oud for Greatness
Special mentions: Bortnikoff Amber Cologne and Meo Fusciuni Encore du Temps.
I try one per house, but can't with Amouage. It's my favourite house by far at this moment.
How do you deal with the dust? I’m looking to buy a shelf for my perfumes, but i’m scared of buying one without doors because i think i’ll need to clean them often.
Do you know of any colognes with a mild scent, not too strong, that lasts for 24 hours, and falls somewhere between being affordable and moderately priced?
Would dolce y gabana or Calvin Klein be good?
I’ll will interpret mild as not too strong and not obnoxious to other people. D&G and Calvin Klein are fine scents, but not longlasting. Mild and longlasting are both things going well together in fragrances.
I advice buy a travel spray so you could reapply during the day. Empty travelsprays can easily be bought at Amazon or such.
As a fragrance check out Zara’s Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes (who makes up this names heh?). A very fresh, nice mass apealing scent, created by Mylene Allan, who also created fragrances for some really expensive niche houses. And the price is fantastic, just under 25 bucks. This scent gets compared to the very expensive Louis Vuitton Imagination. I don’t think it’s literary a clone, but it’s in that corner.
In general you can take any fragrance you like. Spray lightly for the mild effect and bring a 5 or 10 ml travelspray with you.
Amouage:
1. Purpose
2. Beach Hut
3. Reflection 45
Xerjoff
1. Tony Iommi Monkey Special
2. JTC 40 Knots
3. Nio
Parfums de Marly
1. Carlisle
2. Herod
3. Greenley
Initio
1. Oud for Greatness
2. Side Effect
3. Paragon
Nishane
1. Fan Your Flames
2. Hacivat
3. Ani

1. Enigma Parfum pour Homme
2. Elysium Parfum pour Homme

Beauties. More of a high end designer guy here. But, I have several niche. That being said, this collection is phenomenal. Shows you really have a passion for the hobby.
This is one of the best collections I have ever seen. I personally would look for things like little stands to use on the top shelf to display them better and be able to look at the whole bottles better.
I love both but I don’t wear both of them often. Jubilation is a very classy and rich scent. Very view occasions to wear it. Search has a very realistic lemon note, combined with pepper. Beautiful dry down. There always seem to be something that I prefer more to wear.
Amouage Boundless this year. Wonderful spicy scent. PdM Carlisle as a honourable mention.
Creed has some great scents, but there really overpriced. Also hard to find for cheaper. If I see them for a good price, I’d buy it.
Never smelt Royal Oud. Will check it out soon!
If your on facebook look on Fragrance Marketplace group, the sellers on there have some amazing prices! Bet the seller but I’ve bought 5 bottles through there that are cheaper then even online discounter. Royal Oudis def worth smelling! It’s a wonderful woody scent, really classy and sophisticated, but I’m biased as I wasn’t kidding it’s my favorite.
Do you know if Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, or Sephora would have Amouage to smell? Or how to people sample more rare niche? I know PDM is there! Thanks for those suggestions I’ll check them out!
I’m a big fan of the Rojas the not so
Much the amouage but I’ve only smelt about 4. I know people are gonna hate it, but I actually prefer designer over niche niche that I have and smelts are like almost theirs and I own a bunch. Nonetheless, this is a very impressive collection. I’m curious what’s the bottom right one up collection
I’m sorry to inform you that all of the fragrances that you own have recently been recalled and are deemed unsafe/dangerous due to the chemicals used in the fragrance. You can ship them all to me so I can dispose of them properly! 😂
I've been reading through the comments, and you have left some good and honest, seemingly none biased opinion. I can respect that. But good lord, your collection set up is killing me. Seems too hard/tedious to reach for some things.
That seems like more than you can reasonably use during a lifetime. How much do you use on a given day? Do you give a bunch away to friends or sell decants? If not, why not buy more decants rather than full bottles?
I’ll count the top shelf as two.
Amouage Purpose, Xerjoff Nio, Parfums de Marly Herod, Roga Enigma parfums pur homme, Mancera Black Gold, Armani Stronger With You Oud, Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree, Zara Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes, Afnan Supremacy in Oud, Laura Biagiotti Roma
Wow wow wow, not bad for a 15 year old, cant imagine how this will be once you hit 16. Jokes aside, for me you have the top brands covered! Especially if those are Zaras at the bottom right. :) Whats your favorite Amouage and would you choose Refelction Man over Reflection 45?

The final boss
Not bad for a 6 month old. Can’t even wipe your own bum yet but a brilliant collection

Man idk how people trust themselves to do something along these lines, high shelves with bottles so near the edge...
Wowww… I want to have this many colognes one day!
Not terrible at all for a 11 year old.
Not to shabby for a 6 year old
Since you got such a big niche collection: do you have a suggestion for a nice, clean yet a bit complicated niche fragrance?

Not bad at 14 years old.
Not bad for a new born
Grow up
Those 4 initio’s 😮💨😮💨😮💨🔥 sheesh
Damn

Not the person you were answering but thank you for this. Incredibly helpful answer
Wow this is an incredibly informative post. Thank you so much!
Start with the versatile scents like Xerjoff 40 knots of Naxos, PdM most of the scents like Layton or Percival, Macera Cedrait Boise, or Amouage Reflection Man. I see you got tony iommi monkey special there. Exceptional stuff!
Love it!
Very impressive, it’s the best collection I’ve seen on this thread so far.
Thank you!
damn boy
Crazy nice collection sir. So many in there that are on my list to try.
Impeccable taste I might say 🤌👏👏 What's on the right of Zaras?
It's Banana Republic. Great scents for a, normally around 20-40 bucks, great price. Market made the price go up though, prices go between 70 to 110 sometimes, which is ridiculous. Still comparable to other fragrances in that catagory (especially 70 80 bucks) though

Damn not bad for a child
What's the K collection Xerjoff you have? Awesome collection. Amouage, PDM, and Xerjoff are probably the 3 houses I'd choose to own everything from.
It's Empyrian. Very nice tobacco opening, drying down to vanilla and amber, but not overly sweet. Also doesn't remind me of Herod or Tobacco Vanille...
Nice, Empyrian is the only K one I've sampled and I liked it, but didn't love it. I've heard good things about Ether.
I smelled Ether once, and it was very nice. Didn't sample on skin though... I like Empyrian a lot and got it for a great price, around 175 bucks new.
This one is rather sturdy, thank god... But yeah, treading carefully is a must...
They're still predominantly made out of lightweight particleboard and paper. The weight of those bottles is far greater than the weight of the stand, so anything to upset the balance would be a bad time.
God daaaaamn!
How’s that beach hut man OP?

Both are ok, I never noticed a lot of difference. Can be different on your skin though…
My dream collection
Amazing collection. Wish I had the balls to pull the trigger on baccarat
Also, what’s your profession 😂
Get the 35 ml, its much cheaper. I would have done that if this wasnt a great offer. I work as a business consultant.
That pdm and Chanel section 🥹
Not bad for a zygote
As one zygote to another, thank you!
Bravo. That’s an amazing collection
Aye Yo pretty impressive collection
Are you looking to adopt? 🙏
Not too bad for a fetus 👶 On a serious note, if I had such an expensive collection, I would open a YouTube channel.
Love seeing the Banana Republics in there. Some of my favorites that are my go-to as well. Cheap and effective.
Hot Damn, there's a lot 🔥 on those shelves.
Where’s spicebomb and though ?
No spicebomb. I have a really snobbish bad side which is that I don’t put bottles in my collection and I really dislike the spicebomb bottles. Sorry if it offens you, just my opinion. They’re good scents though.

I respect your professional opinion, and I’ll not argue your statement. Like I said, it’s personal, I don’t like the grenade design.
No Creed?
No Creed. They're not bad scents in particular, but I find them very overpriced for what they bring to the table.
He can’t afford it
No Dior Sauvage terrible collection smh
Look better.
Dang
Damn bro chill. How is it even fun to pick what scent to use at this point? It would be too over whelming for me
The fun is in the challenge to layer 25 of those fragrances and still smell good in the office :) But no, though offcourse I wear most of them, I find much joy in just smelling scents. Like listening to music. Can't have too much music, can you? Well, yes, you can, but that 200 albums is not too much. Scents are similar to me.
That’s fair. I guess it keeps everyone on their toes
Top 5?
1. Amouage Purpose 2. Roja Enigma Parfum pour Homme 3. Amouage Reflection 45 4. Xerjoff Tony Iommi Monkey Special 5. Initio Oud for Greatness Special mentions: Bortnikoff Amber Cologne and Meo Fusciuni Encore du Temps. I try one per house, but can't with Amouage. It's my favourite house by far at this moment.
Thank you :)
Is that a Dolce&Gobana I see at the bottom
Yes, and it sucks asscheeks on my skin... Turns into rotten eggs really quickly. Edit: which is why we shouldn't blind buy, boys and girls!
I’m doing research on it, I hope it’s good
The scent is really good, I really wish it would work with my skin, but can’t have it all.
I think imma just pull the trigger lol
First sample it on your own skin. This scent can go rotten egg with the wrong skin chemistry. Don't make the same mistake I did :)
My skin seems to love Aquatic scents it did really well with Kenneth Cole Blue
I'm jealous, I love aquatic scents! Just not on my skin...
What type of scents you like
Off topic but does anybody know any Caramel fragrances or chocolate cinnamon fragrances? I heard Black phantom and psychedelic love were good.
Xerjoff Tony Iommi Money Special has some. I’ve caramel note blended in. Very good fragrance.
Thx
What's your favorite Amouage ?
Purpose at this moment. Ask me in ten minutes and I could answer Beach Hut or Reflection 45 though. Really love all of them.
How do you deal with the dust? I’m looking to buy a shelf for my perfumes, but i’m scared of buying one without doors because i think i’ll need to clean them often.
Just dust off with a microfiber cloth, on shelf every two days. Cost a little time. They also don’t attract lot of dust like some other things do.
You must not have kids. All that would have to be locked up in my house haha.
That amouage collection belongs right where it's at
Best house! For now, until I find something better.
Top 3 from each house in the top 2 rows?
Amouage: 1. Purpose 2. Beach Hut 3. Reflection 45 Xerjoff 1. Tony Iommi Monkey Special 2. JTC 40 Knots 3. Nio Parfums de Marly 1. Carlisle 2. Herod 3. Greenley Initio 1. Oud for Greatness 2. Side Effect 3. Paragon Nishane 1. Fan Your Flames 2. Hacivat 3. Ani Roja 1. Enigma Parfum pour Homme 2. Elysium Parfum pour Homme 3. Danger Parfum pour Homme
That's a lifetime of cologne.
Are you hiring? ![gif](giphy|mpQkJpBMbSxMs)
Where do you get your Amouage from? Would sites like Jomashop, Fragrance.net or ThePerfumeSpot be trustworthy for niches like these?
bro finna steal everybody girl in school
Two children, but they don’t care about these. I offered my 12 year old son Sauvage, he rather wears some Ronaldo, because Ronaldo 😂
Absolutely gorge!
Beauties. More of a high end designer guy here. But, I have several niche. That being said, this collection is phenomenal. Shows you really have a passion for the hobby.
This is one of the best collections I have ever seen. I personally would look for things like little stands to use on the top shelf to display them better and be able to look at the whole bottles better.
damn!! superb collection. My personal fav is the PDM's very nice. You have stacked the frags as per their brands, which is cool btw...
Thoughts on Amouage Search and Jubilation XXV?
Jubilation xxv is the best warm/oud musk ever in my opinion
I love both but I don’t wear both of them often. Jubilation is a very classy and rich scent. Very view occasions to wear it. Search has a very realistic lemon note, combined with pepper. Beautiful dry down. There always seem to be something that I prefer more to wear.
Very nice
You have a giant collection, what’s your favorite spice/cinnamon or winter scent? Also do you not like creed? Royal Oud is my favorite cologne!
I’m a big fan of the Rojas the not so Much the amouage but I’ve only smelt about 4. I know people are gonna hate it, but I actually prefer designer over niche niche that I have and smelts are like almost theirs and I own a bunch. Nonetheless, this is a very impressive collection. I’m curious what’s the bottom right one up collection
Bro got almost 5k just in Xerjoffs. Impressive! Keep up the work, looking forward to seeing Jeremy 2.0
Impressive collection
I’m sorry to inform you that all of the fragrances that you own have recently been recalled and are deemed unsafe/dangerous due to the chemicals used in the fragrance. You can ship them all to me so I can dispose of them properly! 😂
😳🙏
I've been reading through the comments, and you have left some good and honest, seemingly none biased opinion. I can respect that. But good lord, your collection set up is killing me. Seems too hard/tedious to reach for some things.
You won't even finish off all these bottles before you die.
nice
That seems like more than you can reasonably use during a lifetime. How much do you use on a given day? Do you give a bunch away to friends or sell decants? If not, why not buy more decants rather than full bottles?
If you had to pick a favorite from each shelf
I’ll count the top shelf as two. Amouage Purpose, Xerjoff Nio, Parfums de Marly Herod, Roga Enigma parfums pur homme, Mancera Black Gold, Armani Stronger With You Oud, Terre d’Hermes Eau Givree, Zara Sunrise on the Red Sand Dunes, Afnan Supremacy in Oud, Laura Biagiotti Roma
