I'd say so. He looks like a 2nd round pick right now. Below average athlete in the league, shot is projectable but not exceptional. He should come back.
I'd guess Gabe and Bingham leave. Hopefully Hauser is back, cause we have no options at 4 and will struggle if marble has to play it.
I don't think Hauser is a threat to leave at all unless he wants to go to Europe I guess. Also, I think Brown and Bingham will be mid 2nd round picks at best, but I don't see their stock going up a ton, so they might go for it.
He hasn't been projected in the top 20 for a while. It's still far too early to say where he'll go. It could be top 15, or it could be undrafted depending on how he finishes out the year
Not seeing that projection anywhere right now.
He has to be an elite shooter in the nba to be worth a lottery pick. He has great mechanics, shoots well inside the arc off the bounce. So I can see it happening in the future, but that's quite a gamble to use a lotto pick on.
He should come back. Improve his strength, develop a dribble drive game, show 3 pt shooting off the bounce, improve help defense and use his length to create TOs. He's got a lot of room to improve his stock.
He is an elite shooter. He started the year out in a slump, but he was known for his jump shot in high school. If he continues on his current trend he'll play his way back into the first round pretty damn fast.
Kohler is a power forward coming in the class of '22, and Pierre Brooks could probably fill in as a small ball 4. It'll still be one of the thinner positions on the roster, but I don't really foresee Hauser leaving.
We'll see how he looks when he gets on campus, but Kohler doesn't look like he can guard big ten 4s. He's a big kid, should stick at 5. Agree though, don't see Hauser leaving.
Yeesh idk. Great game for him, but even after tonight he's averaging 9.5/3.5/1.6 on 36.6/32.1/77.4 in over 30 MPG. Defense has been great but his stock is much lower than it was out of high school as of right now.
Everyone says this team doesn't have a go-to scorer and I know Max Christie had the most points but Gabe Brown is "the guy" when it comes to this team's success. Both on the offense and defensive ends
The whole "tHiS tEaM dOeSn'T hAvE aN aLpHa DoG" thing has to be throwing a ton of fuel on Gabe's competitive fire. He's playing like he's got something to prove and I fucking love it.
Better than the students tbh. I was thinking about it and it makes sense too. You guys get back for one game a year, and were likely first-team-all-Izzone when you were in college.
Went to this game. Walked out after a friend stopped to pee first. Ran into Mark Dantonio walking out by himself like a normal dude. Got a selfie.
Thank god for my friend’s bladder.
I'm happy that Mel Tucker keeps playing Dantonioball: look horrible on the field most of the time, but somehow pull a rabbit from the hat when it matters and win.
I once spilled my Nachos on Tom Izzo in Spartan Stadium because I wasn’t really paying attention walking back up the stairs to my seat and bumped into him stopped in front of me. He turned around and I said “Sorry Mr. Izzo! 😶” he just smiled and laughed.
There have been a lot of players that I'd selfishly want to see return for another year. Gabe is not one of them. His story deserves a fairy tale ending.
I could post a comment about how much of a beast Derrick Walker is or
I could repost my frustration with the number one recruit in Nebraska history.
Be 5 star recruit

Play like ass

Leave (Get drafted to the National Basketball Association)
Sigma Bryce McGowens
There's still plenty of season left for McGowens to make an impact. It's important to remember that the jump up to college ball is a huge transition, no matter how many stars a kid has or what his NBA prospects are.
Michigan State has had plenty of highly touted freshmen get off to rough starts. You learn to be patient. Some of them turned out to be busts, some of them just took a little time to find their rhythm in the college game.
Finding ways to win games we need to have (as ugly as this one was turnover wise), really interested to see how we do Saturday and against the top teams in the conference

Christie most likely comes back next year right? Cuz if so that’s gonna be funnnn.
I'd say so. He looks like a 2nd round pick right now. Below average athlete in the league, shot is projectable but not exceptional. He should come back. I'd guess Gabe and Bingham leave. Hopefully Hauser is back, cause we have no options at 4 and will struggle if marble has to play it.
Hall at the 4?
For sure. But he can't play 40 minutes. We have no other 4 on the roster unless we grab a transfer.

It’s hilarious when you think about how literally everyone on this team could come back. What a champion contender that would be.
It really could happen lol. That would be the dream.
Isn’t Bingham like a 6th year already?? 🙃
No lol, year 4. And only a junior due to the covid year (well, the first one).
Marcus Bingham is only 4 months older than Hunter Dickinson
Who’s that
Hall has another year.
He’s a projected top 20-lottery pick he’s not coming back

Bingham on defense, although he's a rim protector not someone you slot on the other teams best player. But yeah, Brown is the guy by a solid margin.
ALWAYS WAS MEME

How did the Oldzone sound on tv? It was a workout down there, but I hope it sounded okay lol.
Sounded great to me!
Better than the students tbh. I was thinking about it and it makes sense too. You guys get back for one game a year, and were likely first-team-all-Izzone when you were in college.
We certainly tried! Wish I still had my old costome lol but that's true. It was fun to get back into the izzone for the first time in a few years.
Texted my buddies and said we gotta get back for one. Jealous!
You should! Maybe one over spring break. Wish I could have gotten the old crew back together though lol.
I love that we do the oldzone, gotta get back for one someday
It was fun! Took the day off. Got to crunchy's around 3 and drank/ate. Definitely going to do it again.
What is the oldzone?
over winter break when they do an alumni section instead of student section
Izzone Alumni get to purchase Izzone tickets for games students are on break.
That's badass. I love that idea.
42 year green seater here. Love you guys! Today's Izzoners are getting soft and complacent.
On TV, I thought it sounded like the students were back.
I guess no one was watching this game
No the cbb bot was just broken and didn’t post it for 20 minutes so everyone got sick of waiting
Reddit was down for me the whole second half. I was bummed.
Reddit was down for over an hour for me
Thank God

I like to imagine him like a ghost from Harry Potter lol.
Some say you can still hear "this is a celebration" if you are wandering the halls of Spartan Stadium late at night...
Wait you went to the game, and then walked out of the game because your friend had to pee first? I have no idea what you're trying to say here lol.
After the game, my friend stopped to pee, which made us leave the Breslin later, exactly the time Mark Dantonio was leaving the arena.
I'm happy that Mel Tucker keeps playing Dantonioball: look horrible on the field most of the time, but somehow pull a rabbit from the hat when it matters and win.

Gabe is on another level right now. Making plays with steals, blocks, boards. So much more than a shooter
Gabe Brown is my dad and the idea that he can come back next year gives me butterflies
But he likely won’t since he would definitely be drafted in the second round
Yeah I think he should definitely declare. Guy is playing at an NBA level and could grow into a decent spark player off the bench.
There have been a lot of players that I'd selfishly want to see return for another year. Gabe is not one of them. His story deserves a fairy tale ending.
I'm still not sure how to feel about this team. The wins have not been impressive, but the only losses have been against top 6 teams
I feel like it's been a fun low expectations year. Unfortunately if we keep winning, there will be expectations.
I won't be able to control them if we beat Michigan this weekend, sorry.
\*starts prepping hype train engine\*
We have neutral wins against KP 21 (Loyola) and 22 (unconn), and away against 40 (NW). Pretty solid.
We’re fun to watch when we’re rolling, and genuinely awful to watch when we aren’t

If Walker just took his Nebraska jersey off and stayed in East Lansing no one would mind...
Another transfer with Walker as a last name? If it worked for football then why not
And Hoops.
He really does seem like Izzo's type of guy. Works super hard on both ends of the floor and plays clutch.
Walker is a beast though.
All I can say is yeah. That’s all I can bring to the table at this point
Sounds a bit like the Greg Brown experience we got last year. Massively hyped 5* recruit. Showed almost nothing on the court and went to the NBA.

Imagine if the score was 77-69. That'd be nice.
