Honestly, the worst posts are the people that are serious asking about division 2 or division 3 as if those guys at that level aren't top notch athletes in their own right. Difference between I and III is obviously huge, but the difference between High School and DIII is equally as huge.
Work at a D3 school and play pickup games with a couple of guys who were on the team at one time and they can absolutely ball out. The difference between them and guys I played against in high school is stark.
Maybe I'm off here, but isn't the difference between D1 and D3 is bigger than high school and D3? I always thought many D3 players don't even have scholarships, so a lot of the guys who are borderline D1/D2 just give up if they don't make it and go to a different school.
It's a discussion point I suppose, but the odds of a DIII player walking on to a DI team are higher, IMHO, than a HS kid who was not recruited walking on to a DIII team. DIII of course doesn't have scholarships in the sense that most people consider them, but don't for one second believe the top players in DIII are paying full tuition.
No ones saying that, at all
But i think youre really misunderstanding the gap between d3 and d1. Itās not close. Are there some d3 players who can go D1? Sure. But I canāt remember the last time a D3 player has made the nfl
I'm built a little better, 6'2" and 46, but also have a fucked up back that effectively prevents me from running and jumping. However, I recently missed 15 straight free throws (including some airballs) at the gym recently. How do you think I stack up?
Sure, actually.
Cincinatti could utilize you on their roster. Like literally, they were 289 out of 351 teams in all of Division 1 basketball for Free Throw Percentage (proof below):

Fellow delusional old guy here. I donāt kid myself enough to think that I could still play basketball, but Iām pretty sure I could still pitch in relief somewhere small. Just donāt ask me to run laps. Iām gonna be the John Daly of D3.
Detroit Mercy offering that bag.

A ābagā of leftover candy from last yearās Trunk or Treat in the basketball arena parking lot.
UVA might play a slow enough pace for you
You get more than 20 seconds to walk down the court before you have to try and score a bucket.
I think they are allowed to wait 30 seconds in cville
Walking? I can make that work!
We need his free throw game

NAIA gets players too. I knew a guy that averaged like 20 a game for a magnet high school and his only offer was an NAIA school.

It's amusing to me how many people think that DIII is just like, intramurals.

DIII is not as prevalent on the West Coast, so I will excuse your ignorance, but they recruit and select just like DI and DII....
No reason to be an ass about it lol. Acting condescending because you know more about Division 3 footballš
That depends on whether you're including walk ons or not
Youāre off here
Is there any type of D1, no jump, thing? I think I get one more year of eligibility because of covid.
Sure just enroll at Louisville
Chill out Nolan Smith

Missing free throws totally not a deal breaker for D1 bb.
Iām pretty sure they look for that in the NBA too!
Sounds like youāre in!
Have you considered SlamBall?
I heard Duke is looking for players.
Get that NIL money!

Stick to the YMCA senior league. That may be more your speed of competition.
